I think Fashola should humbly resign. I dont think he understands jack about the power sector otherwise the power situation in Nigeria will not degenerate to this. He is receiving salaries but has in no way shown that he is deserving of it. Is it true he wrote SSCE four times? If its true then i am not surprised he has failed in his duties. The power sector needs active brains not passive ones. Was Tinubu spoonfeeding him in Lagos State while he was taking all the shine as the serving Governor? I thot he said electricity is no rocket science. Empty barrels always make a lot of noise, obviously! 2 Likes 1 Share |

The same who says a reasonable government will fix electricity problem in six month in 2014, now saying another thing. The table has turned to their side now but haven't give any results. God help us in Nigeria. 2 Likes 1 Share |

mile12crises: @ bolded... when you give key position based on sentiment rather than merit or technicality, you keep having problems. I said it before, fashola can't do anything meaningful in the power sector. Give that position to a competent engineer and see the difference. It will be so clear. The same thing is what is happening in petroleum sector. Imagine a lawyer managing NNPC and also minister of petroleum. What does a lawyer know about generation, migration and storage of hydrocarbons or what does he know about the technicality of a refinery? This government is really dull. 1 Like 1 Share |

butanep:Your comment is dull I am not an Engineer but I know enough about those things. The Chief Executive of almost every hospital in the UK is not a doctor and they do OK. The job of a Minister is political only dull people fail to grasp that key point. He is basically the President's rep and unless we are saying the president needs to be an Engineer that logic is absurd. If Fashola fails it will have nothing to do with being a lawyer or a PE Teacher. By a similar token how can a man who has never been in the Army be a commander in Chief. ? The fact is those things are just tools Those people who produce the most with computers know little about computers they just use them to get results. If corruption is the problem in those sectors then how will having an engineer stop that. It is the same with the police. Any administrator can reform the Nigerian police.IG of Police is very different from Minister of Police. One is technical the other is political |

butanep:You are clueless. Kachikwu was heading Mobil West Africa, I guess it was sentiments that go him that job. By the way, energy minister in the UK studied history or political science (can't remember). The French minister of energy also studied an art related course, same at the minister of health in the UK. A minister job is administration not technical. Dull people calling others dull. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amber_Rudd Read and educate yourself. |
