Boring Biafra! - A Case Study Of Biafra Town , Biafra Republic And Ala Biafra by shachris02: 7:46am On Apr 01, 2016
People ask me why i do not support Biafra even though i'm a proud Nwa afo; A homogenous igbo society would be as boring asf. Why? Let's overlook the pretenses for a second, and all the false sense of brotherhood. The bitter truth is that we hate ourselves. A typical igboman is more accommodatiing to a stranger he's met just for a day than a brother he's known his entire life. We feel we are in competition against ourselves always. A typical visit to any igbo village would confirm this truth. Most of the youngmen are running far away from home because most people at home would do anything to make sure they do not succeed. An igboman would prefer to help a foreigner get a job in his office than his own kin.
The crab mentality is the bane of the typical igbo society.

You do not need to look far to see this. You remember the Nairaland Biafrans boycott? and how many of us swore to never ever visit this forum again? and how we went ahead to start our own 'igbo' forums. grin

Those seemingly igbo forums are a typical example of what Biafra would look like if it ever comes to pass.

I followed those forums. From Biafra Republic to Ala Biafra and then Biafra town. The first few weeks every member was high on Biafra. People were trooping in like crazy. One of the forums even had up to 2000 signups in a day. Even Nairaland would be jealous of that stats. Promises were made. Loud members were ranting on how they were going to build a forum that would beat Nairaland hands down. They promised huge sums.

Few weeks down the line, the forum is still active. some members joined, some couldn't bear it and bummed off. The forum remained active. More promises made and none kept.

2 months down the line, the forums have turned to graveyards. All the flare and plomp are gone. people start wondering what the hell they were doing here in the first place. all members flee and return back to the Nigerian forums they all love and leave the wonderful biafran forums to die a slow and painful death.

Biafra republic that used to have 3000 members online can't even boast of 3 users online. Biafratown is really pathetic but i must commend the admin. Dude posted 3000 topics all by himself grin. Ala biafra is dead and gone. embarassed

This is a true reflection of what biafra would look like. After the pomb and flare, the reality starts to bite and people go back to their vomits. But this time around, they might not be as lucky and the vomit might no longer be available to swallow back.

Biafra is boring and i want no part of it. cool

WRT bold sentence, I must say that, this is the reason why I don't want Biafra. Our people can be very wicked, cheats and selfish; however, if these acts can be curbed I will prefer Biafra to Nigeria.

Partly correct but the problem of Igbos is from some particular sections. Remove them and the rest of Igboland will be at love and peace. I in particular will never be part of anything they are involved and so is it for everyone with full knowledge of their antecedents God bless every Igbo man that stands for the truth.

i thought igbos love themselves? cuz according to nollywood its only an igboman that will go to the village and pick a boy that will serve him for couple of years, then open a shop for him and give him some money to start up a business.

When will Igbos(BFRA) learn to ignore this kind of thread? Silence is golden especially in this thread. Let those who want to die on top of BFRA issue see how foolish they can be.

Uwazulike who is from imo state owns MASSOB while Kanu also from imo state owns IPOB. These 2 clowns have used mostly jobless youths from their state to cause mayhem and disaffection in Igboland. These 2 I.diots from imo state and their people are the problem of the Igbo nation and we are not in support of their useless and worthless wild goose chase.

From onset I never supported these 2 clowns that ply their trade on deceit and brainwashing of their followers.

FG should recommend death sentence for Uwazulike and Kanu for bringing up the issue of Biafra when actually there is no need for it at this time. The event of 1966 is not the same as 2016. So the cry for Biafra Republic is uncalled for.

As for the new alternate websites, op you got it all wrong in that area as the sites are waxing stronger everyday.

I wrote 'Silence is golden especially in this kind of thread.' This does not mean that one ought to keep silent at all times. Those who are agitating for their self determination have not committed any crime because it is recognised by UN which Nigeria is signatory to. BFRA existed before Nigeria so they have the right to self determination.
