Icon4s: As for Echiejile, they are no match. I think Echiejile was losing his place already under Oliseh. Oliseh already fielded Madu against Chad. (I saw that in the clip). Oliseh was also tracking Amuzie. |

TheGoodJoe: IMHO he is currently our best LB. |

TheGoodJoe: That guy would have been a better match for Sallah. |

Icon4s: From what I can decipher, Madu is flawless overlapping. I rate his attacking game even higher than Ganiyu Ajide who was later a sub to Celestine. Madu is that good but... I feel defensively, Amuzie is better and Coach Oliseh was preparing Amuzie for Salah. That is why he wanted to play him against Tanzania. I need to watch more of Madu defensively to put a real judgment. The clip did not do him justice because of his overwhelming attacking play. He is quality. That guy Simon Moses in front of him would be flawless. |

Icon4s: I do not know of that one but offensively, he is our best. |

Icon4s: Ndidi would be DMF for sure. Then, Moses Odubajo will be the additional Wing back, asides Madu and Abdullahi. |

Icon4s: There are things that a full game will help me judge. For instance Madu goes high up the pitch a lot. I will like to see his recovery speed when he losses the ball. Something Oshaniwa does with ease. I will like to see his body strength against strong Wingers. Something we saw a lot with Amuzie. With Madu, Amuzie and Oshaniwa, I wonder how Echiejile found his way back to the team. I think Coach Siasia brought Amuzie to camp to check his recovery from injury and he impressed in camp. |

TheGoodJoe: Amuzie to me is better on d offensive than on the defensive. |
Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by Icon4s(m): 11:39pm On Apr 01, 2016 |
forgiveness: Looks workable to me. But will Siasia drop Amuzie then? |

Kingsley Madu – 7/10 – For a debutant, the 19-year-old, who plays for Slovakian club, AS Trencin, seems to be a good find for the problematic left back slot. Not short of confidence, he tried to join the attack at every opportunity. The real test waits when the Eagles face Egypt. Premiumtimes rating of Madu against Chad. You can see so much stress on his attacking instincts but against Egypt, we needed more of a defensive left back. I think Coach Siasia already knew this and went with Amuzie. Although, Amuzie just recovering from a long lay off was a risky call, especially with the bad pitch in Kaduna. |
Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:44pm On Apr 01, 2016 |
Icon4s: In the games against Egypt, his job was to stop Salah. It was simple as that and his Defensive show was impressive. I think the media downplayed the strength of Salah and expected to much from Amuzie. |
Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by forgiveness: 11:44pm On Apr 01, 2016 |
Icon4s: Hmm! Don't be suprise that Siasia might drop Madu and some good players. |
Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by Icon4s(m): 11:47pm On Apr 01, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe: Madu is a typical modern defender. However, i must say Nigeria was d dominant side in his games that i have watched. What some1 of dat nature needs are 2 experienced CB that can effective provide cover. Against Chad Madu took more shots on target than most of d attacking players. Remimiscense of Roberto Carlos - the originator of modern day LB. |

TheGoodJoe: Bros, Which one you dey now. Yesterday, you said we needed a wing back to move forward but today you are saying we needed to defend. |

Monaco lost to Bordeaux today. Elderson Echiejile started and was substituted later with Coentrao replacing him. |

forgiveness: Very possible. Infact Amuzie's chances sure pass Madu' s. That is Siasia for you. |
Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:52pm On Apr 01, 2016 |
forgiveness: The question was why did we substitute Amuzie for Echiejile. I said, the coach might have wanted a wing back to offer more forward. I also said I disagreed with the change because a creative player will offer more. I stressed that was the wrong change. Over and over again. I said we needed the likes of Nacho and Iwobi in. With the announcement of Amuzie's knock, it showed two injuries, Etebo and Amuzie messed up Coach Siasia's substitutions. |
Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:54pm On Apr 01, 2016 |
forgiveness: Everyone knew Salah was the biggest threat. You can not go with an attacking wing back play against Salah. That will give him room to cause havoc. |
Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by TheGoodJoe(m): 12:02am On Apr 02, 2016 |
Icon4s: I agree with you. With the likes of Taribo, Uche Okechukwu and Oliseh, Celestine Babayaro could go forward, knowing he was secured at the back. With the right defence and a strong disciplined defensive midfielder, Madu will be an asset to any National team he plays for. |

We took six defenders to Atlanta 1996 NOT 5. And Siasia took 6 to 2008 Beijing Olympics. Some reports say 7. forgiveness: |

Leave out Iheanacho!!! Nacho was injured for almost the entire 2014/15 season while Solanke did his goal-scoring business. Nacho's only appearance before his return towards the season's end was a less than 15 mins cameo before he picked up a serious injury in the Uefa youth league. (He only featured for less than 11-15 mins in the Uefa youth league--- On page 113, you made it look like he featured in the whole competition because Solanke finished top scorer #smiles). On his return he banged in 6 goals in 7 games (plus scoring against Solanke's Chelsea in a game- the 2nd leg- Solanke didn't even score. Chelsea won 2-1 and 5-2 overall I think? To lift the FA Youth League cup..... Nacho didn't even play the first leg. He only played the 2nd and that was his only appearance in the FA Youth League cup)... When it comes to Solanke and your absurd comparisons with Nacho.... You don't give the whole facts!!!!!! Just because you wanna make Solanke look too good comparatively..... Not good Sir! Solanke is no match when both are at the peak of their powers..... Mr. Forgiveness Solanke. #smiles It was very funny to me that on page 113 a certain Joseph1013 came in (hmm... 13 on 13... Coincidence?? I don't think so *winks*) and burst your precious balloon. Why? Because you were not stating the whole facts, my friend. #Bigsmiles. I'm still watching.... Keep your eyes open. #winks forgiveness: |

TheGoodJoe:It was keshi that fielded Madu against Chad Sir, and he performed wonderfully well in that game. |
Re: All The News About The Olympic Eagles (U-23) HERE! by TheSuperNerd(m): 3:03am On Apr 02, 2016 |
Synonymous with "superbly", "excellently", etc #smiles Kingsley Madu is to me Nigeria's best LB right now and he's still so young. I really missed him against Egypt though Amuzie is another fine left-back talent especially when he's on the offensive. Amuzie's defensive game is okay but can get far better. I rate Madu ahead of Amuzie in my books. #smiles And hey Sir TheGoodJoe, Sir Drinkwater is right. It was Keshi who capped Madu. Oliseh took over about one month after Keshi left (was fired). Why do guys keep mixing it up? #smiles Even some journalists "MISTAKENLY" include the Chad game as one of Oliseh's competitive wins while in charge.... But they're wrong. It belongs to Keshi. Icon4s: Odubanjo has been invited to train with the three lions. They see the prospect in him. Do you think that sincere seth will be invited to train with the main English squad if he was English?? I do not think Sincere seth is in the same stratosphere with odubanjo. The under 23 team that played the African tournament were conceding goals so carelessly even with a great keeper behind them. It is not as if seth covered himself in glory. Shehu is not a right back. Against Egypt, he was exposed a few times. He is decent but that is not his natural role. However, if we can get Balogun and Omeruo then he can play there. |

TheSuperNerd: Madu is also an offensive left back too. He is not that solid defensively. I rate Madu higher than Amuzie too. |

Nigerian Talent Michael Ogungbaro Departs FC Midtjylland For FK Jerv Norwegian club FK Jerv have announced the signing of Michael Ogungbaro from Danish team FC Midtjylland. The 19-year-old has penned a three-year contract that will keep him at Grimstad until the end of the 2018 season. Primarily a midfielder, Ogungbaro is also comfortable playing as a centre half, and has been described as pacy with strong aerial abilities. The teenager joined FC Midtjylland in 2014 but did not play an official game for the Wolves before his departure, though he took part in friendly matches for the first team. I like your defensive selection.... Please update it by adding one more defender. Siasia is likely to take 6 defenders, 5 midfielders and 5 forwards, in addition to 2 goalies, to Rio (just like he did in 2008). With Ndidi in Central defence, we also know he's a good cover in the DMF role. Why not include him as one of your 5 or 6 midfielders? That way we only go with 5 defenders and not six. But with Ndidi in defence, then we go with six defenders. Tu comprends? #smiles Is your list formation a 2-5-6-5 or a 2-5-5-6? (Not minding Siasia's choice... He may go with 5 or 6 at the back. It depends. But 2008 shows 6). forgiveness: |

Yeah... He's certainly offensive in a babayaro/carlos kinda way. #smiles I was just harping on Amuzie's strengths alone. Madu is still growing defensively but looks a lot more balanced in both offensive and defensive attributes compared to Amuzie. tbaba1234: |
