The real problem with Nigeria is the Ibo man, he is never at peace with his neighbours at home or in exile. other tribes have learnt how to co exist, annoying as other tribes may be at times, knowing full well that every tribe annoys the other one way or another. But the Ibo man wants to be the master at home and in other people's backyard. You appoint an ibo man as head of govt agency and before you know what is happening, the whole place is manned by Ibos, from typist to cleaner to accountant, na only una? He does this so that even after he leaves office the parastatal becomes an Ibo parastatal. They always want to dominate their environment. Because of this mentality they can't be trusted with the political affairs of the nation.

when an Ibo says injustice, all it means is he can't dominate.

Other tribes too behave the same way...that is why we have federal character laws.

The worst part of it is the fact that the country totally rely on the crude oil from the south south & south east zones but the people of these zones have always been regarded as third class citizens in a country they should be a major stakeholder.
The only time someone from this part of the country "miraculously" became the President (GEJ), they never gave him any rest of mind throughout his tenure as they practically made the country ungovernable for him. He sought for a second term in office which every other President enjoyed (Shagari & Obj); but they conspired to work against him.

Someone should tell all the evil men in this extraction called Nigeria that God is not sleeping

It doesn't matter how long we run from the obvious truth, we must answer the call of truth one day and that day is fast approaching.

The current Nigeria stricture is fraudulent and doesn't possess any thread of progress or prosperity for its people.

The Bishop is absolutely spot on. It's something we all believe deeply within us.

Nigeria MUST restructure or risk separation. It's a question of time.

The Bishop is a red necked agama lizard.

There are over 200 ethnic nationalities in the country but because up in his stupid head the union doesn't seem to favour just one, it should be called off. Even ethnic minorities are showing a lot more maturity than some supposed elders.

Was the country just amalgamated yesterday?? Where was his voice during Jonathan's regime?? Did the herdsmen crisis begin yesterday?? Where was he between 2011 and 2015??

One day you want out of the union, the next day you wanna be the president, acting as though there's a Nobel prize for stupidity for which you are strong contender. And who says break up is a "sure banker" for peace??

Some people are just irritatingly foolish.

Who is this stupendous ignoramus?

■ Condemns activities of herdsmen

FROM DAVID ONWUCHEKWA , NNEWI

THE Bishop, Methodist Diocese of Onitsha, Rt Rev B.L. Onuagha has bared his mind on the state of Nigerian nation and noted that the amalgamation of 1914 has not favoured the Igbo, appealing to the world leaders to listen to the South East and break, off “this monster called amalgamation.”

This was contained in the Bishop’s address to mark the 14th annual diocesan synod of the church. Bishop Onuagha said since the amalgamation was not working in the interest of the components of the federation that the best option should be to dissolve it based on the fact that, according to him, a section of the country was suffering enslavement.

The Bishop cited the activities of the Fulani cattle herdsmen who he said had displaced communities, killed, maimed and burgled the people with impunity and government would remain complascent. He described it as an indication that some people were not wanted in the marriage. The synod enjoined the Federal Government to make enabling law as regards grazing in Nigeria to avoid bloodletting between the herdsmen and farmers in Nigeria.

“Amalgamation has brought about the erosion of human dignity, the enslavement of a section of the people in the name of one Nigeria. This deadly monster has led to the loss of millions of lives of Igbo and no one is talking about the genocide. Yes, our culture and that of those in question are not the same. Our language is not the same, our customs, our tradition, our faith and our education are not the same. Our values are at variance. Then, why must we be forced to be in a marriage that we do not want and we see that it is not favourable?” the Bishop queried.

He said he was not surprised that a group was crying for separation from the unholy marriage forced on Nigeria by the British government in 1914.
The Bishop noted that even in the entity called Nigeria, there is extreme hardship to the extent that the naira would soon become a piece of paper if not checked. He said fuel was fast becoming a scarce commodity to the extent that the poor could not afford it in a nation that exports crude oil.

He said the synod urged the Federal Government to tread with caution in her quest to deregulate the petroleum sector in order to avoid further sufferings of Nigerians, adding that the refineries should be made to work in full capacity.
“The cost of living is rising daily, as the central government is busy witch-hunting individuals in the name of fighting corruption,” he said.

On Anambra State, the Bishop expressed satisfaction with Governor Willie Obiano, whose government is doing well in providing security, agriculture, education, infrastructure and other social amenities.

North has food crop, let them go & enjoy it. SW has food crop, mineral resource let them go. SS/SE has oil, its ok
Any splitting of Nigeria today will only lead to further in-fighting and splitting. A proper federalism is the answer, not splitting especially when Igbos already have investments all over Nigeria. Everyday it becomes more and more obvious that the loudest voices calling for splitting are either spoon fed students or struggling adults who don't give a damn about others who are already established. I can't point out any African society that got better after balkanisation.

And by the way, what's this frequent talk about SS and SE oil?... The last time I checked, it was purely SS oil feeding the entire nation cos the oil produced in the SE is as insignificant as the oil produced in the SW.

When a Bishop has this much venom in his heart against other Nigeria tribes, how doesvhebrelatevwith non-Igbo supposedly under his watch?

Will he ever serve the church outside Igbo land with this hatred spirit? What a Priest!!!!! And these are same people with Bishop Oko who couldn't see anything wrong with Jonathan's tragic administration.

You may be right about a particular set of people being greedy, but sit back and reread ur statement, don't you think it's borne out of parasitic tendencies and selfishness?
Before you go, look up the meaning of "greed" in ur dictionary just to be sure.
The sharing formula isn't favorable to all, plus there are no equal opportunities for citizens thus causing development to lag perennially.
Calls for fiscal federalism are drowned out.
Then someone calls for self-determination, how is that supposed to fill supposedly normal humans with anger, bitterness, venom and vitriol to the extent of attempting genocide? Just look at these logically.

I think she means executive presidents.....Shagari was the first Executive President of Nigeria.

Most of our military leaders went by the title Head of State (except IBB who called himself President).

Azikiwe was a ceremonial president from 1963-66..and from 1960-63...Governor General.

For me breaking away from Nigeria is not the issue right, but educating our people and doing what is right to make that region great. We can rebuild the region without federal government.Lagos today is build by Igbos and yet people are crying government. All the swamps in lagos bought by igbos in the name of lekki, aja,Amuodofi etc.Charity begins at home, lets educate our people.Onitsha market was called before the biggest market in west African, what happened today. Igbos we want to eat our cake and have it. Time to rethink, all we care about is money. So we should stop crying foul, when Late Ikemba ask Nnewi people to bring back there Industries back home. They did and today go to Nnewi and you will understand that we don't need a prophet to tell us. Igbos start to think about home, and not i own a house in lekki, aja, wuse, etc.Own a house in Enugu, Anambra,Abia, Imo, Ebonyi and even Delta.Let join hand and build the region.

1.The Soviet Union breakup was not without problems.....there was crisis in several Soviet republics...and in one or two of them...actual wars.(Georgia, Azerbajan, Armenia, Chechnya, Kirgistan).

2, Yugoslavia broke up in one big conflagration.....infact it was one of the worst wars in history. Even now they are still sentencing people to jail for their activities in the war....

See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yugoslav_Wars

3.As for Czechoslovakia...they did break up peacefully in 1993. But...it was a long process. In 1939..they were broken up by Nazi Germany. The Czech side became the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia...and the Slovak side became an independent state...under Nazi protection.

After 1945...when a Communist govt took over...both sides were ruled as separate autonomous republics in one country.

After the fall of Communism in 1990...the final division took place in 1993.Due to disagreements over how the country should look post Communism.

So you see, a peaceful break up is possible. As an Igbo man, do you think that I'm going to fight to be in 'one Nigeria' with the Yoruba or Hausa man? Of course not! So the question is, where will the so called war come from?

See how low your IQ is, so if Igbo's go their oil well will immediately dry up that they will have no other option than to revert to fishing and palm wine tapping but if they remain in Nigeria the oil will never dry?

I agree with every thing you said until you mentioned GEJ. GEJ is not president today because he was thoroughly incompetent. The level of corruption during his tenure should have been logged in the Guiness book of record. Being president is not a right. It is a function of potential and performance.

One Nigeria is...ALL ABOUT OIL! They have ravaged most of the oil in the SS; nearly 80% of their proven reserves depleted, environment polluted now they are heading into SE. Imo, Abia and Anambra. Anambra has the largest oil and gas reserves in Nigeria followed by Imo and Abia...the irony is Nigerians don't know this. Even Igbos don't even know this! They hide this from us!

We can pretend all is well but remember...when a situation or condition reaches critical mass, THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP IT!

I thought am the only Igbo that's knows this fact. people don't know is because of the excess oil and gas deposit in Igbo land that makes northerners remain in one Nigeria.even SS people think igbos need their oil ha ha ha ha ignorance is bliss.
