Nigeria Needs A Revolution - Pastor Tunde Bakare by neolboy(m): 1:31pm On Apr 04, 2016 |
The General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare has called for a revolution in Nigeria, saying that’s the only way to address the fundamental error of government. Bakare who said this during the 27th anniversary thanksgiving of his church on Sunday pointed out that the revolution should be a radical transformation of values which should transcend politics and change of government. He also berated the current government over its stance of waiting for an upsurge in the price of crude oil before reviving the economy. Bakare said, “While appreciating the positive developments in our democratic experience, especially the attempts by past and current governments to eliminate systemic leakages, I shall seek to prove that, by a fair preponderance of the credible evidence, the state of the nation calls for a revolution.” “This is a revolution that transcends politics or policies; a revolution that means far more than any change of government; a revolution that means a radical reformation of values as they impact upon the social, economic and political landscapes of our nation.” “It is a symptom of chronic national laziness to blame the global economic downturn for Nigeria’s economic woes, or to wait expectantly for a rise in crude oil prices in order to sustain our consumptive economic patterns. Our problems are not the result of global economic cycles; our problems are the results of counter-productive national paradigms and self-limiting frameworks of state.” source: http://dailypost.ng/2016/04/04/there-is-need-for-urgent-revolution-in-nigeria-pastor-tunde-bakare/ 35 Likes 4 Shares

I can understand what the Clergy meant, but I'll present it this way... PMB is undoubtedly working hard to fix Nigeria, especially the damage caused by the past administration, and the fixing we all agree will take some time. While being a fixer is cool, being an empathetic fixer is the best. Why do you think a Surgeon (who specializes in fixing medical problems) would not carry out a major surgical operation without anesthetics? It's because the surgeon is empathetic and also knows there's something called pain threshold. If the Surgeon ignores the pain and continues with the operation, a patient might jump out of the theatre and say he would rather die than allow the cruel doctor continue with his fixing. PMB should not assume that Nigerians will endure hardship indefinitely. If the pain exceeds the threshold of a sizable number of Nigerians... it signals REVOLUTION 85 Likes 4 Shares |

#HowToFixNigeria If by 2019 Nigerians who are currently under 40 years old (and who are detribalised and selfless) are not able to wrest power from the 'usual suspects'. Nigeria's migration from third to first world nation may very well not take place before 2100 Migration from third to first world status CAN take place in a generation (33 years) with consistent committed selfless and visionary leadership (across party lines) propagating a POLICY MASTERPLAN that must be arrived at via extensive research and creative problems solving. Nigeria's problems are more than 50 years old! The solutions to these problems are just as old. A youth (36 years or less) will DV be 69 years old or less in 33 years, he or she will either be faced with a gargantuan mess of a nation or a country that is head and shoulders above most nations of the world. Which would we rather have? Dem no dey plant corn for morning harvest am for night, guys we've really really got to start thinking and doing. 11 Likes |

He spoke my mind and the mind of many Nigerians. People must realize that the enemies of Nigeria are Nigerians and they are your average politician and office holders with the exception of just a very few. We have civil lords and not civil servants. Security people are more interested in their usual narrative of 'your boys are under the sun' than anything else. Every where you turn it is like the government is warring against the people and the rich are warring against the poor. Yet, the por cannot discern and would spend all the venom to defend the politician from his village while commenting on NL. Our mindsets are something else. 27 Likes 1 Share |
