Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by dupyshoo: 8:39am On Apr 04, 2016 |
The first prerequisite is eligibility test for FSW, which you must score minimum of 67 out of 100. Check this link for more details http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp You can also use this tool to determine your eligibility: http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp If you are eligible you can then enter the pool. The trend currently is to draw people in the pool with high CRS score every fortnight (mostly Wednesdays) and invite them to apply for Permanent Residence. The minimum CRS score that has been invited so far is 450. With the age of 42, I don't think your CRS score will be high enough, so you might have to look for a province to nominate you to stand a good chance. The link for CRS calculator is http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp basingstoke: 1 Like 1 Share |

In his earlier post, he said she is 33 and he has done his IELTS and ECA. Also, her age should not affect her score for education. SlowlybtSurely: |

Now, I understand. If the results will be released soon, then I think it will be better for you to get it evaluated instead of considering OINP. A lot of people are still waiting for nomination since November. 40manlappy: |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by SlowlybtSurely: 10:54am On Apr 04, 2016 |
40manlappy: Well, check the CRS calculator tool to see if she will hit 450 with her MSc. If not, i wouldn't bother if i were you. With the way the ITAs are being issued, i doubt anything less than 450 will stand a chance with federal ITA. It has to be PNP, which she can conveniently get at 420. Only that none is nominating for now. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by dupyshoo: 11:10am On Apr 04, 2016 |
It should cos 14 will be added to her education score and 25 to her Skills transferability factor score. 420 +14+25 = 459. 459 is a good score but IRCC recently reduced the number of invites per round of invitation from approx. 1500 to approx. 1000. This might drive the minimum CRS score to about 460. More rounds of invitation will give us a better picture and can help to predict the new minimum CRS score. SlowlybtSurely: |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by SlowlybtSurely: 11:47am On Apr 04, 2016 |
dupyshoo: True that. Then again, most Provinces are not nominating at the moment. This may force the cut-off to go below 460 in the subsequent draws, as there may not be so many people having CRS higher than the 460s. Let's see. . . Fingers crossed. |

Hello Guys. I have my BSc assessed in 2014 and I have my IELTS result. I recently completed a Masters degree and I've initiated the process of assessing the Masters too. My wife is going to write IELTS at the end of the month and we are about to start assessing her BSc & MBA degree. My questions are as follows; 1) Can we create an EE profile with the present information? 2) Will I have the opportunity of updating the EE profile while I await my Masters assessment and my wife's assessment & IELTS result too. 3) Can we just assess my wife's MBA degree instead of doing both BSc and MBA. This is because the MBA degree is foreign and the chances of getting it assessed quickly is high compared to if we assess both her BSc and MBA. |

ThreeGEEKS: I can best answer this as my cousin just did this and I live in Canada. To begin with cyber security is big here. Dem yahoo boys work overtime in Canada robbing banks online or stealing people's ID to make fake credit cards. Your family member will secure a job here quickly, whether with a bank or police force. As for his plan to come here via UK, I'd recommend it. My cousin went to the UK from naija, did his master's then applied for the skilled worker program. With his UK degree and few years of work experience Canada was glad to give him a visa. He'll be here within a week and will be a permanent resident (PR) once he lands here. He'll have every right as a Canadian citizen except he won't be able to vote or get certain government jobs. He can become a citizen in 4 years though. If he did all this in naija it'd be tougher for him to get approved without a doubt 1 Like |

hartson: I don't quite agree with u on the single thing o...the extra scores you get for being married are already given to u if ur not married i.e if you are given 20marks for ur spouse's Ielts it is deducted from d total marks u can score, whereas if ur single the 20 marks isn't deducted. Again a lot of pple here have processed their applications themselves without an IL...but then I just got into d pool so i'd let d gurus answer. 2 Likes |

dupyshoo:Looping: SlowlybtSurely, irondome, JesusDWay, zandora Thanks so much for your analysis. May God take care of all that is yours. She has already gotten the maximum score under "Skills Transferability factors" i.e. 50. I used a CRS tool calculator assuming that her MSc and my MBA were assessed and it gave us 447 points, still lower than the suggested 450. What remains is the MSc/Professional degree. Even though she possesses both, that may only take us to 434 i.e. additional 14 points to current CRS score of 420. It appears that our best bet is to look out for a provincial nomination. We just discovered a close relative in Manitoba which inspired us to submit EOI under MPNP last night even though it is not yet open. The site gave her a score of 560. We read that the ranking score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited during the last round was 548. This gives some comfort when the MPNP eventually opens, right? JesusDWay also mentioned Nova Scotia The only thing giving us concern is something in the "Settlement Plan Part 2" form that says a close relative can support more than one applicant BUT previous application must have been successful. He is supporting his immediate sister under "Family Stream" program but according to him, the application has been dragging on for too long so it can hardly be qualified as being "successful". What are your thoughts on this? 1 Like |

40manlappy:is it not possible to apply for more than one PNP at the same time.instead of sticking to one PNP I suggest you look at provinces you may have high chance of being invited. My opinion is to look at provinces that invites more people than the one that invites on a few hundred.e.g BC,Alberta would have been another perfect choice but it seems they don't do PNP thing for now.Though it all depend on NOC sha.I pray with you in your quest to find what fits you best.Goodluck |
