Below is the result of the descriptive statistics I did on the shortlisted candidates for the NDAEE - I.e the number of applications for each course/faculty.




Faculty of Engineering

Total applications is 4,353 which represent 19.94%. Breakdown is as follows:
Civil Engineering - 1,405(6.4%); Electrical Engineering 1,302(5.96%); Mechanical Engineering - 1,647(7.54%).




Faculty of Science

Total applicants is 7,289 representing 33.38%. Breakdown:
Biological sciences - 2,928(13.41%); Chemistry - 574(2.64%); Mathematics - 271(1.24%), Physics - 334(1.53%), Computer Science - 3,181(14.57%).




Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences

Total Applicants is 9,709 representing 44.47%. Breakdown is shown below:
Economics - 1,965(9%); Accounting - 1,259(5.77%); French - 9(0.04%); Geography - 1,144(5.24%); History - 243(1.11%); Political Science & Defence Studies - 4,195(19.21%); Psychology - 893(4.09%).



Faculty of Military Sciences

Total applicants is 483 constituting 2.21% of the total applicants. Breakdown is as follows:

Intelligence & Cyber Security Studies - 263(1.2%); Peace and Conflict Studies - 133(0.61%); Leadership & War Studies - 86(0.39%).



Overall, it can be seen that Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences has the highest percentage of applicants (44.47%), followed by Sciences (33.38%), Engineering (19.94%) and the lowest is Military Sciences (2.21%).




Note that for previous years e.g. 67RC, the number of cadets matriculated was about 50% Engineering, 27% Sciences and 23% Arts and Social Sciences. Hence, more Engineering students are admitted than other faculties.


This is not to scare or discourage anyone, but to show you who you'd be competing with, in order to read hard for the NDAEE.




NB: Thou shalt not worry about the competition, because the competition does not worry about thee.
