If she has MSc, why is your CRS score for education for Bachelors then? I expect your CRS score to be more than 420 with MSc, her IELTS score and more than 3 year work experience. Am I missing something here?

Could be cos of her age or because her hubby hasn't done IELTS/WES evaluation.
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by dupyshoo: 8:39am On Apr 04, 2016
The first prerequisite is eligibility test for FSW, which you must score minimum of 67 out of 100. Check this link for more details
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

You can also use this tool to determine your eligibility:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

If you are eligible you can then enter the pool. The trend currently is to draw people in the pool with high CRS score every fortnight (mostly Wednesdays) and invite them to apply for Permanent Residence. The minimum CRS score that has been invited so far is 450. With the age of 42, I don't think your CRS score will be high enough, so you might have to look for a province to nominate you to stand a good chance.

The link for CRS calculator is
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

In his earlier post, he said she is 33 and he has done his IELTS and ECA. Also, her age should not affect her score for education.

Seek for a remark ASAP, i guess the eligibility for remark is 4 weeks after release of results or thereabout.

In the event , you want to rewrite. 1. www.edx.org ,University of Queensland, Australia Ielts academic preparation, this site is only relevant for task 2 prep.

2. ieltsbuddy.com

Thanks for the info, i'll check the link out.

I have applied for a remark, pending when the the result is out, i would study HARD for another IELTS.

Mozo is absolutely right on the IELTS stuff.

Your letter of interest should underpins your commitment to live and work in Ontario. Anything that helps to prove "that" is relevant and should be included in your essay. Such as:
Job vacancies in your occupation and that of your wife's (support this data analysis and report, include links & url if possible).
Town and cities you intend to live (do a little google search) and why. Schools your kids would attend and why. Friends and family in Ontario to help you adapt quickly, etc.

However, they has been a slowdown on OINP of recent, as such, we are not sure of how soon you would be getting a letter of interest. In the meantime, you can have a close look at Aussy migration system. Accounting is in demand in the federal/independent skilled migration scheme, as well as by a number of states. Try and check out how much points you can claim for education and work experience with CPA Australia. If you could muster 60 points with other criteria, then you can consider state sponsorship for additional 5 points to make 65.

Thanks for the insight. We shall work on the assessment this month.

The MSc has not been assessed because she just rounded up late last year and Unilag has not released the results.

Now, I understand.

If the results will be released soon, then I think it will be better for you to get it evaluated instead of considering OINP. A lot of people are still waiting for nomination since November.

Well, check the CRS calculator tool to see if she will hit 450 with her MSc. If not, i wouldn't bother if i were you. With the way the ITAs are being issued, i doubt anything less than 450 will stand a chance with federal ITA. It has to be PNP, which she can conveniently get at 420. Only that none is nominating for now.
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by dupyshoo: 11:10am On Apr 04, 2016
It should cos 14 will be added to her education score and 25 to her Skills transferability factor score. 420 +14+25 = 459.

459 is a good score but IRCC recently reduced the number of invites per round of invitation from approx. 1500 to approx. 1000. This might drive the minimum CRS score to about 460. More rounds of invitation will give us a better picture and can help to predict the new minimum CRS score.

True that.

Then again, most Provinces are not nominating at the moment. This may force the cut-off to go below 460 in the subsequent draws, as there may not be so many people having CRS higher than the 460s.

Let's see. . . Fingers crossed.

Hello Guys.

I have my BSc assessed in 2014 and I have my IELTS result. I recently completed a Masters degree and I've initiated the process of assessing the Masters too. My wife is going to write IELTS at the end of the month and we are about to start assessing her BSc & MBA degree.

My questions are as follows;

1) Can we create an EE profile with the present information?
2) Will I have the opportunity of updating the EE profile while I await my Masters assessment and my wife's assessment & IELTS result too.
3) Can we just assess my wife's MBA degree instead of doing both BSc and MBA. This is because the MBA degree is foreign and the chances of getting it assessed quickly is high compared to if we assess both her BSc and MBA.

You are on point bro, this attitude by our fellow countryman/woman in Canada was what forced me to pay an immigration consultant a whooping sum way back in 2013 for the April or May 4th,2014 FSWP before the launch of EE in Jan 2015 because my paddyman during my school days who migrated few years after our graduation with the help of his senior brother always refuse to help me with information on immigration each time I call or write him to inquire 1 or 2 things.

Then things were not as tight as they were now.each time I call him or write him he will ignore my call or mail and I was like gush!! why wasting my time calling or writing him.I began making enquiries until I settled with an accredited immigration consultant, signed a 5 year contract which is still binding till date.I stopped calling or writing him until after a while he called me and started pleading that i should forgive him bla bla bla.I know he knew what he was doing because i see it as just being selfish. He wouldn't want another person to succeed like him afterall I didn't contribute to his success.I have never asked to give me anything only to help me with some enquires/questions when I ask.

My consultant has being very helpful with sincere and geninue advice.I knew about this thread, how to post/reply quotes few months back,January precisely.am using it to gather more advice and tips to complement the advice my consultant offers me.I read in past posts were some people wrote that it is a waste of money to engage the services of immigration agents.is worth it if you can afford it.it is not totally wrong. They must be licenced tho or else you are on your own. They understand the system very well and how it works.Immigration laws changes every now and then because they are experts they quickly adjust to it and update you immediately. They file appeal on your behalf and pursue it to legal conclusion if anything goes wrong but you must be armed with authentic papers.Help you in your job search, take it upon themselves to make sure you get maximum exposure to employers via the strict job bank and match you with prospective employers.

However, only a fraction of few have been able to surmount the hurdle on solo effort.I stand to be corrected tho but is a fact.

I am surprise that my friend engaged the service of a known immigration lawyer to process his wife's papers last year. She joined him thereafter last sept.with the lawyer's connection and contacts she is doing a nursing course right now after her HND qualification in Mass Comm at IMT Enugu.my paddy understood the herculean task to do it that is why he opted for a lawyer paid him and he got the job done.

I want to stress further on the line I highlighted.Of the truth I tell you my consultant told me that high targets are set for people applying as singles that's just the truth.whether a woman or a man.If you must beat the CRS score as a single dude then you must be < 30,have Masters or Phd,Excellent IELTS score and other factors to favour you.

IELTS has being the bane of many even at that couples with some good IELTS score,WES ECA Report and their kids are not given stringent conditions like someone who is single.that is why your CRS shoots up the moment you provide details of your familyl status in the EE profile.

Thanks and May God see everyone through in Jesus name.

Please I need help this is very important.
OK a family member just told me he is planning on furthering his studies in the UK because the course which he wants to study is not offered much in Canada (Cyber security) but he plans to go to Canada afterwards since with his UK degree, it could help him have an edge since the market for that career is still growing.
Please who thinks like I do that this may just be a bad idea. Please I need constructive criticism.

I can best answer this as my cousin just did this and I live in Canada. To begin with cyber security is big here. Dem yahoo boys work overtime in Canada robbing banks online or stealing people's ID to make fake credit cards. Your family member will secure a job here quickly, whether with a bank or police force.

As for his plan to come here via UK, I'd recommend it. My cousin went to the UK from naija, did his master's then applied for the skilled worker program. With his UK degree and few years of work experience Canada was glad to give him a visa. He'll be here within a week and will be a permanent resident (PR) once he lands here. He'll have every right as a Canadian citizen except he won't be able to vote or get certain government jobs. He can become a citizen in 4 years though. If he did all this in naija it'd be tougher for him to get approved without a doubt

I don't quite agree with u on the single thing o...the extra scores you get for being married are already given to u if ur not married i.e if you are given 20marks for ur spouse's Ielts it is deducted from d total marks u can score, whereas if ur single the 20 marks isn't deducted. Again a lot of pple here have processed their applications themselves without an IL...but then I just got into d pool so i'd let d gurus answer.

Thanks so much for your analysis. May God take care of all that is yours.

She has already gotten the maximum score under "Skills Transferability factors" i.e. 50. I used a CRS tool calculator assuming that her MSc and my MBA were assessed and it gave us 447 points, still lower than the suggested 450.

What remains is the MSc/Professional degree. Even though she possesses both, that may only take us to 434 i.e. additional 14 points to current CRS score of 420.

It appears that our best bet is to look out for a provincial nomination. We just discovered a close relative in Manitoba which inspired us to submit EOI under MPNP last night even though it is not yet open. The site gave her a score of 560.

We read that the ranking score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited during the last round was 548. This gives some comfort when the MPNP eventually opens, right? JesusDWay also mentioned Nova Scotia

The only thing giving us concern is something in the "Settlement Plan Part 2" form that says a close relative can support more than one applicant BUT previous application must have been successful.

He is supporting his immediate sister under "Family Stream" program but according to him, the application has been dragging on for too long so it can hardly be qualified as being "successful". What are your thoughts on this?

is it not possible to apply for more than one PNP at the same time.instead of sticking to one PNP I suggest you look at provinces you may have high chance of being invited. My opinion is to look at provinces that invites more people than the one that invites on a few hundred.e.g BC,Alberta would have been another perfect choice but it seems they don't do PNP thing for now.Though it all depend on NOC sha.I pray with you in your quest to find what fits you best.Goodluck

Uw counsel. wink. Like morgan2006 said General training is d module for immigration to canada. Pls study hard and ensure you score a minimum of L8 W7 S7 R7.
As for WES I only sent my degree cert as you get maximum points for ur LLB. Because it's equivalent to a masters degree. You can send d two tho(llb and llm) if its convenient for you let's see what WES says. Also if yu have a contact person in NLS pls cn I use him/her? My mails are never replied, calls never taken...smh

You can request for a remark as you might be fortunate to get extra 0.5 in the writing.

If you decide to write IELTS again, I think in order to nail the writing section, you need to practice more. Write at least 5 essays and letters before the exam. Also, you need to manage your time very well. It is better to start with the essay as it attracts more marks than the letter. If you can manage your time very well, you will have enough time to read through your write-ups before submission.

Wish you all the best.

please how did you go about requesting for a remark? I'm in need of it too. Thanks

You have to make a payment of N15,000 via draft to British council, and submit your test report along side. Thatsall.
