She has already gotten the maximum score under "Skills Transferability factors" i.e. 50. I used a CRS tool calculator assuming that her MSc and my MBA were assessed and it gave us 447 points, still lower than the suggested 450.

What remains is the MSc/Professional degree. Even though she possesses both, that may only take us to 434 i.e. additional 14 points to current CRS score of 420.

It appears that our best bet is to look out for a provincial nomination. We just discovered a close relative in Manitoba which inspired us to submit EOI under MPNP last night even though it is not yet open. The site gave her a score of 560.

We read that the ranking score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited during the last round was 548. This gives some comfort when the MPNP eventually opens, right? JesusDWay also mentioned Nova Scotia

The only thing giving us concern is something in the "Settlement Plan Part 2" form that says a close relative can support more than one applicant BUT previous application must have been successful.

He is supporting his immediate sister under "Family Stream" program but according to him, the application has been dragging on for too long so it can hardly be qualified as being "successful". What are your thoughts on this?

Check the CRS tool it says masters degree or first professional degree to practice in medicine, law optometry etc...no be 1st professional degree WES write there? CRS lists d profession and Law is includded...we'll it's just my opinion...someone more experienced can help us out.

Again in d online ECA cert WES sends to u upon completion of ur ECA, the second attachment explains what the cert says. Here's a snapshot of d 2nd attachment.

The maximum under Skills transferability factor is 100 not 50.
There are actually 2 categories under Skills Transferability Factor. They are Education and Foreign Work Experience.
If you have CLB 9 and above and 2 or more certificates, you will get 50 marks under Education
If you have CLB 9 and above with over 3 years of experience, you will get another 50 marks under Foreign Work Experience.

So, I believe your wife should have got 100 under Skills transferability Factor if she has the following CLB 9, 3 year work experience and MSc.

WES will not assess foreign law degree as "Bachelor of Laws". I tried WES Free Degree Equivalency Tool and it gave me an assessment of "Bachelor's Degree (4 years) as the Canadian Equivalent of Law degree from OAU. So you can only claim Bachelor's degree .

Hi Dupyshoo, probably because you used the free degree equivalency tool. I have assessed mine with WES as well and Iphie is right! It reads 'Bachelor of Laws' and 'First professional degree '. This gives the maximum points as stated on the EE website which was posted as a snapshot by Iphie.

However, to 'practice' law in Canada, you will need further licensing. Regards

There are other means outside card like moneygram unfortunately, the card (MasterCard) preferably is easier. you pay in Canadian dollar cos its WES Canada you are actually dealing it. Remember there is also WES USA.

I have a friend who did his via moneygram with First bank. I did my wife's own with a GTB MasterCard.

I am not sure they would still hit the 450 mark. You have to take into consideration points lost on age. They dropped some points with language test as well, irrespective of her fantastic score.

In my own opinion, getting into Canada without PNP is increasingly getting difficult. Too much priority is being given to international students and those with Canadian work experience.

To support your last point, it seems that even PNPs are now being skewed in favour of candidates with Canadian education and experience.

Please do your research very well to confirm. I have argued this before as well. I have seen people who were denied because they claimed a different point from what was written on their ECA.

It will be nice if I am proven wrong but I sincerely doubt it as IRCC only look at the Canadian Equivalent. If it was evaluated as Bachelor's of Law, why was it not included as so under the Canadian Equivalency section?

Uw counsel. . Like morgan2006 said General training is d module for immigration to canada. Pls study hard and ensure you score a minimum of L8 W7 S7 R7.
As for WES I only sent my degree cert as you get maximum points for ur LLB. Because it's equivalent to a masters degree. You can send d two tho(llb and llm) if its convenient for you let's see what WES says. Also if yu have a contact person in NLS pls cn I use him/her?
