According to "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chisom_Chikatara" Chisom Chikatara became the 3rd highest goal scorer in the 2015 Nigeria Premier league with 2 goals behind the top scorer. That means technically he didn't score less than 20 goals.....

‘ Yes it’s 24 ,’… Chikatara sets 2016 NPFL season’s goal target

Enyimba FC striker, Mfon Udoh broke the record of most goals scored in a single season in the League in 2014 and supplanting that achievement is the pursuit of Abia warriors forward, Chisom Chikatara as the new NPFL season gets into full gear.Udoh scored 23 goals to earn the goal-king crown , and though he has only opened his account with a goal this season, 21-year-old Chikatara told footballlive.ng that chasing and surpassing the record of his City rival is his prime target.

Though he admits it could turn out to be a tough task, the CHAN 2016 revelation maintains he has his sights set on target, ‘which is just a target after all.’

You are correct.

Owngoalnigeria.com exclusively gathered that the duo of Godwin Obaje and Sincere Seth who have both been doing well in camp are set to join the U-23s ahead of their friendly game against Brazil on the 24th of March.

19 year old Obaje has been scoring regularly in training and test games but his chances of making the team are slim due to the avalanche of options available to the coaches in attack.

If he is ready to choose Nigeria over England with no regrets, then I say we do our best to make him part of the team and give him a chance to contribute to the growth of Nigerian football.

He is a fantastic talent but I do not think he is ready for the Olympics team.

As for the U20, I hope and believe Coach Amunike will give him a call up. Remember, for now, Coach Amunike said he will only work with homebased players. He wants the foreign based players to use the facilities, coaches and equipments to develop themselves. Coach Amunike wants to train the home based Flying Eagles himself.

When the time reaches, I hope he hands Solanke a call up. Vitesse No.9, is not beans.

How do you know when a player is ready or not?

At least, you have seen the YouTube. Now, tell me the difference between Solanke and Iheanacho from what you saw?

Have you confirmed he played everywhere in the front line? grin

Did you see the extra effort he did before he scored his goals unlike Iheanacho who received tailored passes from the pass masters to score easy goals.

I am writing of Iwobi turning down England for Nigeria and you are writing Solanke?

Your bells just ring when you hear Solanke. Someone wrote that Solanke is ready to choose Nigeria over England.

My reply was if he is ready, let us give him a call up.

Your reply is how do you know if he is ready. I do not understand you again. We can not know. If reports says he is ready, give him a call up.

What else should I say?

As for Iheanacho Vs Solanke, you are just joking.

Solanke is not as rated as you make him. If he was as good as you make him, Guus Hiddink would pick him over Traore and would not buy Pato.

He might be a bright prospect but for now, he is not as good as Iheanacho that Man City allowed the likes of Dzeko and Jovetic leave for.

I never talk say one better pass one ooo. grin

How can you watch that clip and tag Solanke prolific. If he wants to make it in the big league, he has to do better. He actually scored two penalties.

That is in open play, in 17 games, he has 5 goals in the Eredivisie.

He is not as prolific as you make him. Look at Chelsea, we have youngsters like Zouma, Rahman, Kennedy, Traore, Loftus-Cheek.

You can say Solanke did not make because he is very young but to say he is better than Iheanacho, Man City's most lethal shot-taker, is blasphemy.

Also, strikers drift to the wings but they have their primary role.

Solanke plays as a point man/Striker in every game he plays for Vitesse. He does not have the stats to force Coach Siasia to drop his attacking plans for him.

I hope he improves and pulls better stats.

Remember, Ahmed Musa once broke the record of the highest goals scored in the NPFL but when he got to Play in the Eredivisie, he struggled to score 10 goals in 2 seasons.

Bros, scoring goals in the Eredivisie or Europe no be beans and yam.

Playing a striker off position can reduce the goal rate of a striker drastically. That is why I asked of Solanke played on the wings but he did not.

Musa hardly plays as a point man, so you can not expect the same goal scoring stats as in the NPFL.

Look at Lukaku at Chelsea. He hardly scored because he played on the wings. At Everton, he plays upfront as a hitman and he is a totally different player. One of the EPL best.

Who was the coach when Solanke was sent on loan?

Comparing Solanke and Iheanacho is normal because they played in the same English youth club grade. So, it is normal and there is nothing abnormal about it.

Chelsea loaned players are all better than Man city players except Aguero. The rest no bi Chelsea standard.

Even the regetted ex- Chelsea player turned Super star in Man City can testify to that. grin

Goal Scoring Defender Ganiu Ogungbe Rues Draw With Aris

Ex-Nigeria U20 international Ganiu Ogungbe has declared that Ethnikos Achnas were unlucky not to get the maximum points in their Cypriot First Division clash away to Aris Limassol on Sunday.

The central defender put his team 2-1 up in the 35th minute, only for Mathew Boniface to restore parity for Aris in the first minute of stoppage time.

Ogungbe has blossomed into a goal scoring defender since his arrival at Ethnikos Achnas, with his strike against Aris his seventh in the league since he debuted for the club in 2014.

“I am a central defender but I also play as a central midfielder but all my four goals (this season) came from the defensive position,” Ogungbe told allnigeriasoccer.com.

“I think my team deserves the three points but unfortunately we were unlucky. All thanks to God.”

The ex-Omonia Nicosia stopper has played 22 games in the top-flight so far this season, and has been yellow-carded eight times.

In football condition is never permanent. Today na Vardy, yesterday was Aguero.

If Chidozie Awaziem plays today again for Porto, he will surely get my nod to play for the Super Eagles ahead of the bench warmer Ambrose.

So, you mean Iheanacho deserves to be called to the National team as at that time Oliseh selected him after scoring just 2 league goals? shocked grin

I see "it took some good club performance before Oliseh considered him for a call up". You mean with just two goals? grin

While Sadiq Umar who also scored 2 goals in 3 matches is not worthy of invitation into the Olympics(i am not even talking about Super Eagles ooo)?

If you have your way, you will replace any somebody with Chidozie Awaziem to make sure he makes the list of the Olympic team which i am not against but i just want to point out something. You know what I mean. grin

Now, moving to Ramon-azeez, so, do you mean he has never rising before? shocked grin

Because i know he played regularly for his club in the la liga prior to the World Cup. Now, tell me, who should have replaced him then?

Besides, Keshi no know em work? Playing Ramon Azeez as an attacking midfielder and not his favourite CMF or DMF proved he knows nothing.

First get my point. I was never against his invitation. What I was against was the slogan of he being the best natural midfielder in the team - a team he has never featured in.

At that point in time Michael Babatunde and even Rabiu Ibrahim were ahead of him. Not to even mention Mikel Obi, Nosa Igiebor and Ogenyi Onazi. Ramon just had a fairly good 6months of consistent club football going into the world cup.

Forget that story of say "he was played out of position". Do you know how many positions I have seem 'Karo Etebo play of which he did creditably well.

Which club(league) did Rabiu Ibrahim play for prior to the world cup and which wing did he play prior to the world?

How many matches did Rabiu Ibrahim play prior to the World Cup?

Do you know Ramon Azeez played almost the same numbers of league matches Onazi played that season?

I agree Mikel Obi and Nosa igiebor(because he won the Israeli league) were ahead but the rest mbanu.

Nevertheless, Ramon Azeez na Ramon Azeez. He plays as a CMF and DMF. Period!

Ok na! We will try Iheanacho at LB to access his talent. grin

And pls, don't forget to answer the questions below too. grin

Can you define "development" with technical facts?

Which position is Iheanacho playing for his club that makes him stand better chance of being invited to the Super Eagles?

Do you mean Sadiq Umar that is playing at the level of Kelechi Iheanacho can not contend at the Olympics level because of your.... criteria? grin

I do not know how you can not understand something basic as the Eredivisie is easier than the Premier League. I know Tommasson, Nisterooy, Ibrahimovic, Suarez, Kluivert, Kanu, Huntelaar etc came from the Eredivisie. It doesn't make it easier.

Look at Graziano Pelle at Southampton. In Feyenoord, he scored 27 goals in his first season and in his second season, he scored 23 goals.

At Southampton, he scored 12 goals in his first season and in his second season, he has scored 9 so far.

The Eredivisie is easier and you know it. Anyone who knows a bit about Football knows this.

@bolded

And i am asking you, how do you know when a player is good or not good enough for the Olympics team?

What are the names of these players good enough?

Pls, we don't want personal opinions, we want proven technical facts. Thanks

Where did I say know? I said I think. My personal opinion from his stats. How can you have a problem with me thinking he is not good enough for our Olympics team. Five goals in open play in 17 starts as a point man in the Eredivisie. Come on.

You think he is good enough. I do not. Simple.

The question is, did Ahmed Musa play as a point man for VVenlo? True or false

Michael Uchebo was the top striker of VVV-Venlo, not Ahmed Musa.

Even the regetted ex- Chelsea player turned Super star in Man City can testify to that. grin

So, please don't go there. Thanks

Stop spreading your fake tales about Iheanacho playing in the same youth grade as Solanke. Iheanacho first had work permit issue and then injuries kept him out for long.

The question is if John Guidetti could score 20 goals in 23 games in the Eredivisie and we did not make so much noise about him, why are we not having peace with Solanke's seven goals in Seventeen starts.

You mean in the big league where Van Persie, Suarez etc came, saw and conquered from the Eredivisie? grin

How many penalties did Iheanacho score? grin

Atleast, you saw how he scored with his skills without needing any tailored passes that made Iheanacho to score easy goals. Abi i lie?

If Solanke dey for Man City, i am sure he must have scored 15 goals and even benched ... you know nau. grin

The primary goal of an attacker is to score. Chikena!

I do not need to watch every game of Solanke to know his role. Go to flashscore.com, you can check the line ups and positions of every game. Solanke started as a striker and replaced the top striker in every game he played.
