Hello lady G , please this question is for the elders o i have asked it in other forum but i wasnt given a clear answer, my uncle wants my 11 year old and 7 year old to visit him in usa.i want them to follow their aunt who is my cousin to visit my uncle in usa .she will be going with her daughter to the same destinations they both have visas but my kids dont have visas their pasport is still virgin ,we cant go with them because we are handling a project here in nigeria that needs our attention please how do i apply or should my cousin do the application during interview can i be allowed to go in with them go in with them please i need reply urgently thanks

How your aunt will convince the visa officer remains a puzzle to me.

In Immigration law, there are strict requirements regarding who can apply for a visa for a child. These requirements are in place in order to protect minors and ensure that a biological parent or the legal guardian is aware of and has given permission for the child's visa application. Visa eligibility for children may be based in whole or in part upon the social, family and economic ties of their parents to Nigeria; further, visa officers must be convinced that your children are permitted to depart Nigeria with your aunt.

I will opine that at least you or your husband attend the visa interview with your children and explain the exact situation to the visa officer during the interview so it can be on record even at POE. Again, in adjudicating the applications of your children, the visa officer will look at your social, family, and economic ties in Nigeria and not that of your uncle or aunt.

If the visa is granted, your aunt can travel with your children carrying a consent letter signed by you and your husband to be presented at POE if question arises.

I'll follow the steps so hopefully we'll get the answr from there
1. One can travel with a child not his/ hers as long as its with the parents' consent for egs I can decide to travel with my goddaughter. So legally u can do that. Another example is Davido's sister travelling with Davido's kid to Dubai and the US without either parent( before kasala burst )
2. Check the ds160. There's a column for 'Travel Partner' or something like that. So I'm guessing the kids can fill the ds160 andadd their aunty's name.
3. Since minors cannot attend interviews alone, that means either U or madam willl have to accompany them and hold a copy of the visa page of the kids' aunty. Then u guys will then answer to all the issues u raised here. Since this is not a common scenario , u may have to establish relationship with the adult travelling with the kids and the kids' relationship with u. Its now for u to convince the VO that the kids will return after their visit.
They could ask to see the adult accompanying the kids. They could do administrative processing.
In my opinion I think its good that your cousin is travelling with her daughter. It might be beneficial if u can show that your kids and your cousin's kids usually spend time together. Just pray for a 'happy vo'

Since I do not believe in leaving things to chance, I also suggest u call the embassy and confirm all the above so u don't fall into a gutter o!

Yes she and her daughter have a 2 year visa and she has travelled with it twice while her daughter has travelled once, she plans to travel august

Secondly we dont bear the same surname because she is my cousin from my mum's side

Have u ever been to stanbic head office? Its like that. Cubicles with bullet proof glasses and a hole for u to pass your stuff thru. Imagine its like a banking hall and everybody can see and hear u.u stand in front of the vo like the teller at the bank.

He didn't even ask me if I had other children. My colleagues who we went together with, was asked how many children she had and some other basic ties to make the VO ascertain that she had a tie and she was given.
I wish to reapply and explain all ties. If I hadn't ties, how wld dey have given me my own visa 2 years ago

1st: somebody/some people have told u that the us embassy RARELY ask for statements.

2nd: that being said if you have 2 companies and make income from both, what stops u from stating both businesses? You are needed to state everything you do all cos all that paints a complete picture of who you are.

Is car importation illegal? If its not then serzly why re u bugged out. Relax and fill your form properly

They rarely give visas for car importation. He needs to get a stronger purpose of trip

Ensure to be elaborate this time... and mind you also KISS (keep it short & simple).
VO's aren't robots or computers and many times we realize this in their variant patterns of decision and use of discretion.

Pray to encounter a VO who's patient to inquire all before making a decision.

In adjudicating the applications of your infant, the visa officer will most likely look at your social, family, and economic ties. You didn't do justice to all that. I will advise you re-apply, but you will have to show further evidence of your ties or how your circumstances have changed.

Lol, I just got back from Enugu. Quite a tiring trip! Fkng Arik refused to lift me cos I got to d counter 4 mins late.

Dats hw I took bus ds morning with baby!!! Na God go punish d life of those airline officials!
