@ Tatacherie I rejoice with you that you found out on time and you're exploring other options. God will help.we parents as to child care options in this country. You.employ nanny pesin mind go dey up creche again pesin nor go fit concentrate! Living on one income in many homes isn't feasible and not everyone is able to be an entrepreneur and care for children herself. Its just tiring and annoying. Someone put up.a random thread about how a little girl she adopted was feeding her baby feaces. Mind you it wasn't adopt to be a maid oh it was to help the girl in question out!!!! How much more if it was a maid or nanny? I'm so so mad here. If Na me Na slap I for tear the nanny oh. The owner of the creche is certainly aware anyway no way the nanny would be doing it and owner or another employee wont have known and reported to management. I pray God's judgement on that creche management and any crèche management involved in such a despicable act may the Almighty God for the sake of the innocent children involved expose them and may they pay dearly for their wickedness. I'm so pained and sad here. its not like Tatacherie for eg didn't pay the fees and they were doing her a favour. even as a favour sef how dare anyone drug another person's child to keep the baby quiet? People are damn mean sha! A staff in my son's school stole gala from a toddler she was sacked immediately. How can anyone stoop so low? God be with us all. Make I go abeg 6 Likes |

MiracleMum: I completely agree that the unscheduled visits help to keep them.on their toes and truly Your method sounds very good and ideal but I tell you a typical working class mum in Lagos may not be able to achieve this.typical scenario is people who work on the island and live on the mainland. Most will leave home between 5.30am and 6.30am daily except one has a driver it'll be cumbersome dragging a baby through traffic at that time of the morning and of course we all know what traffic is like in the evenings. Alone with a crying baby your eyes will see wen if the pikin begin cry!!!!! That's if you even have a car sef. The costs of creche on the island nko? That's another matter entirely. May God just help us to make the right choices for our children at every point in time. 2 Likes |

Babythug, infact this matter of creche taya me. Why would anyone drug a child because d child is crying? A 10wk old child. Like my mum would say if babies don't cry, what should they be doing for you o. Which kind daylight witchcraft be this one. Drug? Piriton? because of cry God!!! What will I do when I start work now? How will I cope? Which kind trouble be this one? I feel like crying. 2 Likes |

Tatacherie, thank yoi for giving me Reason no.324 for NOT doing creche till my baby is old enough to talk. Piriton!! If the baby overdoses or goes into some drug related crisis, the owner of the creche will show up with a pastor to tell you "it is God's will, don't prosecute". Is that not that did at Dunamis daycare? Can we perhaps do something? Do you have mummies you trust from this forum who stay around your area? For a small fee, can they watch our babies? For example, Babythug may live in ikeja and there's a mum here she relates to well and based on what she's seen and read, she can trust that if issues come up, she will call babythug immediately. The babysitting mum won't take more than 3 kids so she's not overwhelmed and can give them the most attention. I dunno if it will help... 6 Likes |

tatacherie....OMG, what happened is really a sad one, my advice is if u still want to take ur lil one to creche, I will advice u look for a creche that is within a school, that way probability of child been drug or mistreat will be low..Me i don't trust all this creche at all. My love to ur lil angel 1 Like |

babythug: My dear, i did it oh. I be proper Lagos working class mum and I drive everyday in traffic with my daughter, most times i look for safe spot by the road and park to breastfeed/pacify her before i continue my journey. It was difficult but i didnt have another choice - i just had to manage the situation well and get the best out of it. I even had to get this kiddies ipad with cartoons and positioned it in front of her car seat, she will watch, dance and doze off. At some time, i even preferred going to work with cabs and BRT cos my baby doesn't cry when i'm carrying her. That's motherhood! I once complained to my elder sis how stressful my new life is and she told me "Thats motherhood! it's not by getting pregnant - the real thing is having the baby, taking good care of the baby and sacrificing everything for the baby." In some families parenthood is planned! Also note that, the cheaper a creche is, the more useless the caregivers are cos a cheap creche cant afford a well trained caregiver that understands the implication of drug abuse. Neither can they afford to have a CCTV where live feed are monitored from an office (the caregivers feel monitored and won’t dare to ignore a baby that needed attention) or uninterrupted power supply. Recently, some creche just introduced skype call-in, where the TV in the crèche serves for entertainment and doubles as a monitor so parents can call in through Skype to see their babies while they are at work. If you want the best hands to handle your baby, it must cost something. My God help us! Parenthood cost a lot, i cant buy asoebi the way i used to and i cant attend owambe the way i used to. It pains me but what can i do? 10 Likes |

Good morning All,I am a first time mum too. I noticed that my baby girl first day in creche she slept for hours when we got home she was so weak. I was mad &ready to tear everyone into pieces. My husband calmed me and sent a warning to the creche. The second day, same thing was noticed (probably they gave her so much the previous day) and by then I made up my mind I was leaving but owner begged asked us to watch her till weekend that it could have been the changed environment or their activities that knocked her off. The 3rd day, things returnedto normal & she has been good since. They are neat with milk handling so my baby didn't purge & I spend time with her beforeleaving and I ask them numerous questions to know what they do. I didn't trust my maid enough with the baby because of her non chalant attitude hence the creche. May God help us. @Sabi mamas my 3months 2weeks baby doesn't poo more than 1time in 3-4days...is this normal? |

Am happy to be in this thread. May God bless you all IJN... Amen! I am a first time mum and i need your help. My son is 6months 2weeks today, but he looks too small compare to his age mates. He stops breastfeeding by himself when he is 4months, he prefer drinking water than to eat. I need something that he will eat to make him gain weight please. Som1 introduce me to Friso-Gold rice and i gave him but he is not gaining weight at all. I even create my own cereal by mixing Millet,Beans,Corn,Soya bean,Groundnut and crayfish together, but don't like it. I'm desperate, i don't know what to do anymore. 1 Like 1 Share |

aye88: You can try using a bit of natural honey, do make sure it is original honey and not boiled sugar!. You could also try adding some fruit puree - banana, apples, mangoes will work well. Ps. You will need to gently cook the apples with a few teaspoons of water before blending. And you can mix the fruit with baby's usual milk. rchilee: Anything up to a week is considered normal. If this is her usual routine, then it may just be the norm for her. If she is exclusively breastfed, it should not be an issue, if she is on formular, keep an eye on it to make sure constipation is not adding to it. If it is, small sips of cooled boiled water and tummy massages may help. |
