You should note that not every baby will be "big" as such. What you should focus on is baby eating well and hitting his.milestones. Did the hospital confirm that his weight is dropping? Did they acknowledge that he is underweight? Does he sleep and eat well? Are you eating a balanced diet and producing enough breastmilk?

Please take it easy on yourself. Answer the questions above then we take it from there

Most baby's weight drop few weeks after birth then gradually start to increase.pls u dont need to do anything to increase his weight aside feeding him.
My baby is 7month n weighs 7.6kg n she feeds well n look healthy. Thatz all that matters.

I gave birth to her weighin 3.4kg at 6wks she ws 4.6kg @ 10wks 5.2kg now 7month 7.6kg.
In a nutshell, weight doesnt signify the baby is healthy or not.

Did u take him to a paediatrician to certify him underwight? If i may ask what is his current weight?

A paediatrician will be in d better position to examine him n gv necessary advise on how to increase his weight.

Hello mums in the house. My son is 6months 2weeks today, but he looks too small compare to his age mates. He stops breastfeeding by himself when he is 4months, he prefer drinking water than to eat. I need something that he will eat to make him gain weight please

Dissolve one tablet(20mg) in a little qty of the ORS solution. Its a once daily dosing usually for 10days even when the stooling has stop.

Anything up to a week is considered normal. If this is her usual routine, then it may just be the norm for her.

If she is exclusively breastfed, it should not be an issue, if she is on formular, keep an eye on it to make sure constipation is not adding to it. If it is, small sips of cooled boiled water and tummy massages may help.

Thank you. Doing exclusive&I think it's her routine now.

You aren't likely going to be given the immunisation if she already has it.

It can be administered at a later date. You'd need to see a Dr asap anyway so they can give antibiotics..measles is deadly and isn't to be managed at home.

Hope this helps

I gave milo and toddler milk at 12 months then started horlicks and toddler milk at 1 3months. My girl enjoys the horlicks more than milo. She sleeps longer anytime she takes horlicks, I don't know why.

My dear, i did it oh. I be proper Lagos working class mum and I drive everyday in traffic with my daughter, most times i look for safe spot by the road and park to breastfeed/pacify her before i continue my journey. It was difficult but i didnt have another choice - i just had to manage the situation well and get the best out of it. I even had to get this kiddies ipad with cartoons and positioned it in front of her car seat, she will watch, dance and doze off. At some time, i even preferred going to work with cabs and BRT cos my baby doesn't cry when i'm carrying her. That's motherhood! I once complained to my elder sis how stressful my new life is and she told me "Thats motherhood! it's not by getting pregnant - the real thing is having the baby, taking good care of the baby and sacrificing everything for the baby." In some families parenthood is planned!

Also note that, the cheaper a creche is, the more useless the caregivers are cos a cheap creche cant afford a well trained caregiver that understands the implication of drug abuse. Neither can they afford to have a CCTV where live feed are monitored from an office (the caregivers feel monitored and won’t dare to ignore a baby that needed attention) or uninterrupted power supply.

Recently, some creche just introduced skype call-in, where the TV in the crèche serves for entertainment and doubles as a monitor so parents can call in through Skype to see their babies while they are at work.

If you want the best hands to handle your baby, it must cost something.
My God help us! Parenthood cost a lot, i cant buy asoebi the way i used to and i cant attend owambe the way i used to. It pains me but what can i do?

You guys got my worries. How do i cope with the cry of My Twin babies in Lagos Traffic?
Do you know ive been thinking what to really do about work and caring for my Twins? I don't know the kind of creche to leave both of them that will give the kind of care i give to my babies. Geting something like that will be extremely costly since they're twin and their closing hour is another factor since i dont get back early due to Lagos traffic after work hours.
I was thinking of starting up a home creche instead of returning to my coy since i leave in a serene and large apartment in a secured neighbourhood and i have a wonderful nursery i set up for my babies. But the issue is how much can that really fetch me? Though I love babysitting, finance is still needed to keep the home running..

Anyway, I don't intend starting up till im through with EBF because at this point i have little to no time for anything other than BF.
God help us as Mothers...

That may work out better for you especially as you have twins.

Unfortunately creches dont do 2 for 1. undecided

Find out what the going creche rates are for your babies and then factor in your salary, fuel/ transportion, feeding for yourself at work etc. Including a nanny as well as your usual household outgoings and see how much of your salary is left!

If you take a maximum of 3 extra babies, between 6 months and 2 yrs and work from home as a child minder you may find out that you may be better off at home.

Dont forget, the cost of a nanny to help you out may be necessary as well as extra cost for running a gen for longer. If you set your prices (weekly or monthly) just lower than the official creches for it to be competetive and set the hours such that Anything outside the stipulated hours can be charged as extra. Its very doable. And you have the added benefit of seeing your LOs.

Good luck!

You have to take her to the hospital also to be given the proper treatment. Please try not to miss any other scheduled immunization. My first son even after giving him measles vaccine, still had measles but it was very minimal and cleared in no time, as ftm den, I started wondering if an fake measles vaccine dey gave him lol but learnt dat it's because he took the vaccine that made the measles not to come out well.
And few days ago, I noticed something like Chicken pox on my 2years daughters body(finger and toe) but by the next morning, it was already dried without applying anything on it . Bottom line is that lets take immunization serious cos it will save us the stress of going back and fort to hospitals

I think she should leave her since she took those things off already. At least she noticed that Easter groove is over and she's back to work. But she should keep an eye on her.

Mamas, at what age is it safe to breastfeed baby while lying down?

Also, when I gave birth to my baby, she didn't open one of her eyes and the doctor said it's not a defect. I took her out yesterday and someone asked me what happened to her eye immediately he saw her. The eye doesn't open as much as the other one though the difference is small. She sees with both eyes, she's 2 months old. Should I be worried?

Wait. If it happens again and shes working, tell her it's not safe to keep long nails around a baby.
