As a fellow searcher.(your question reminded me too that I need a whitening toothpaste!)...I hear that a toothpaste that contains baking soda as an ingredient/component might work. eg Arm and Hammer Advance White....

I intend to see a dentist eventually though

I think sensodyne is overhyped, IMO though... I think visiting the dentist regularly is the best option..

But Darbur isn't a paste toothpaste. At least it doesn't weaken the immune like most of this toothpaste. (don't want to mention names)
