You know something....why apologize to a woman who did nothing about the mess in NNPC....especially the fact that because we did not properly fix the refineries and add new ones under her rule.....we are in this mess.

1.You are paying N180 for fuel(it is still N86.50 in major marketers and NNPC fuel stations....higher in some independent marketers)....because the fuel subsidy.....WHICH YOU DO NOT WANT REMOVED....and which your new hero supported its removal....is preventing marketers from making profits....so as a result....they have to sell much higher than official price....or else they won't have the dollars needed to import.

2.Have you ever thought why we do not have the dollars for imports? It is because oil prices have fallen....so we can no longer waste dollars on everything.....we need it to keep up the naira....so that you sports fans wont be paying N100000 for a loaf of bread.

And if the subsidy goes.....you would be paying far higher for fuel. So...why are you complaining. Do you expect APC to diversify the economy in 10 months....when PDP and your new heroes did not do it in 16 years?

3.Ask your new hero why no new refineries were built? Even if the ones we have are working at full capacity....we would still need to import 23 million liters of fuel every day. And the reason prices stayed at N97-N87 per liter during her time was because...we had the dolalrs to import and subsidze the fuel at the same time. Now we do not...and now the decisions we made not to build new refineries has come back to haunt us.

4.Ask your heroes why at the end of their rule...they were still owing money to the marketers? That is why they refused to import...they were owing so much that they were in debt...and they still owe. Because....we no longer have the dollars to import since oil prices fell.

5.And is it now you are noticing we bought fuel at higher prices. I bought fuel at N102-110 during GEJ's time. I even know of people who bought fuel at N170 in Minna during GEJ time. And fuel in SE and SS was above N150 during GEJ's time. Indeed...it was only Lagos and Abuja that sold fuel at N97 during GEJ's time....in the very outskirts of ABuja.....fuel was sold as high as N140. during gej'S TIME.

6.What would solve this problem is ......removal of subsidy. But that would put prices of fuel above N150....the same price you are complaining about....but fuel would flow. You are complaining about high prices....and yet...you paradoxically do not want the actual solution to your problem....apart from five new refineries?

Nigeria needs at least 23 million extra liters per day...in addition to the new 17 million liters of fuel per day. Some even put it at 53 million extra liters per day!

Abeg...why apologize to someone who spent all the time in office doing nothing to solve the problem....and hiding the problem via massive dollar influx to import fuel to paper the cracks. Nigeria needs new refineries and removal of subsidy. Things that your new heroine did not do ...and before anyone calls me zombie....things that the new APC govt must do if they want to sort this issue out once and for all.

Nigerians....

Nigerians are fools. Leave them, they deserve their suffering.

They should keep wailing but just like Greece economy, even if they change Govt every 2 months, they cannot change the underlying economic condition. It doesn't matter if its APC, PDP or KOWA, the economic condition will remain the same.

An educated man will know to hold those truely responsible for his plight, but instead the Nigerian will be pining after the days of Diezani, GEJ and co like Israelites pining to go back to Egypt during the exodus. Fools who do not know the cause of why they are in the position they are in.

Right now Nigeria should have $180bln sitting in the ECA to weather the oil slump, but all the Nigerian knows to do is moan and pine for the people who shared their savings.

It isn't that Nigerians are fools...it is because we are a ''poor'' nation that we tend to see things from day to day....rather than years ahead.

And despite my rant....we still have a bad fuel crisis....and it needs sorting out. Problem is....it may come with the price of removing subsidy....which means high prices ....and for prices to come down...we need new refineries.

Either way...we are in for a long time of waiting. And I would really appreciate it if govts said that...rather than make vague promises. And Nigerians too should be willing to make the tough choices.

Op, god knows you are a blatant liar. Who in his or her right senses would apologise to a woman who supervised a ministry that never made crude oil refining a priority. A ministry that shortchanged the nigerian people.
Yes, this APC govt made unrealistic promises, but at least it has a economic roadmap that we can hold on to. If they fail to deliver, we vote them out.
Did PDP have any economic plan for the country? PDP was the biggest scam in africa, Alison madueke and her fellow economic rogues were rolling out fake and misleading figures about the economy. The economy of the country was expanding on paper, but in reality nigerians were getting poorer by the day. PDP's govt was feeding fat on the trillions of naira allocated to fight insurgency in the north. Security votes and budget in the last administration was the highest in the history of nigeria, yet no one bothered to procure 4th generation jets to counter the insurgency in the north.
The last administration of PDP/GEJ abandoned the NE, played politics with the chibok girls issue so much that some people still think their disappearance is a hoax or a political tool to witch hunt the administration. Is it not amazing that the war in the NE is been prosecuted with the arms that the last administration bought? Somebody in the administration was feeding fat on the crisis. It was up to the president and his cabinet to put an end to the war, but they were too busy playing politics. It will be unfair to PMB if nigerians dont appreciate and applaud his effectiveness in ending the war in the NE. I remeber a lot of nigerians condemning his decision to move the command to maiduguri. Today, that decision is paying off. As usual, we nigerians move on and pretend we never objected the move (typical nigerian).
The truth is that nigerians voted for APC not because APC had a political ideology that was appealing, but because they were fed up with PDP's lies and visible inefficiency.

It is high time we stop the joke. GEJ messed up a windfall and he would have not done anything to solve this crisis.

How do people expect a man who could not manage in plenty, do well with scarce resources?

As at January, the Saudi Arabians were also complaining.

Saudi Arabia faces 'economic bomb' and hikes gas prices 50%

Saudi Arabia is running out of money.
While the world's attention is focused on Saudi Arabia's latest flare up with Iran, many Saudis are concerned about the "economic bomb" at home. The government is slashing a plethora of perks for its citizens.

The cash crunch is so dire that the Saudi government just hiked the price of gasoline by 50%. Saudis lined up at gas stations Monday to fill up before the higher prices kicked in.

"They have announced cutbacks in subsidies that will hurt every single Saudi in their pocketbook," says Robert Jordan, a former U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia and author of "Desert Diplomat: Inside Saudi Arabia Following 9/11."

The perks Saudis receive:
Here are some of the perks Saudis receive:
-Heavily subsidized gas (It used to be 16 cents a liter. Now it's gone up to 24 cents.)
-Free health care
-Free schooling
-Subsidized water and electricity
-No income tax
-Public pensions
-Nearly 90% of Saudis are employed by the government
-Often higher pay for government jobs than private sector ones
-Unemployment benefits (started in 2011 in reaction to the Arab Spring)
-A "development fund" that provides interest-free loans to help families buy homes and start businesses.

We had a windfall of high Crude Oil Prices and high sales with nothing to show for it. Yet you guys want President Buhari to perform magic.

This is a global issue facing Oil Producing Countries. Even Saudi Arabia is seeking loans and they did not have the kind of wastage we faced Under past governments.

Nigeria needs new refineries and removal of subsidy. Things that your new heroine did not do ...and before anyone calls me zombie....things that the new APC govt must do if they want to sort this issue out once and for all.

Nigerians....
Let me respond to your first highlight about fixing the refineries.

I don't know if you have heard story about turn around maintenance.

Let me start from 2012. I have argued this with Jaybee3 before
This woman and GEJ wanted the subsidy to go because there was no need for it. NOI saw through the fraud but APC latched on it and you occupied Lagos until it was reversed. You requested for new refineries and fixing of old ones. Rightly she told you that government had no business in refining that if subsidy was removed, businessmen would ordinarily build refineries.

About fixing the the existing refineries, they contacted the original company that built them. They declined but referred them to another company. The second company accepted to do the work and charged $800 million. When asked to guarrantee that the refineries would work to 100% capacity and for a given number of years, they refused. Then this woman decided to build local capacity and had been doing.

She assembled local Engineers, contracted a local firm that was paid "only" $10 million. They understudied the refineries and started TAM in October 2014. The result was what you witnessed around June-July with the coming to stream of most of the refineries.

I am sure Johnnie Walker would have disbanded that team as he is known to do and we are where we are today.. Ask before you cast stones. You were owned by APC..You were misinformed.. Enjoy

Stop giving excuses sir...

I made it clear in my post that I support subsidy removal.

The problem is....even if our refineries were working at full capacity....we would still end up producing 17million liters of PMS per day....

And Nigeria needs at least 43 million liters (I even heard an expert on an FM station yesterday say Nigeria needs 70MILLION liters of PMS daily. Same expert said that the 43 million liters of fuel were based on 20 year old estimates. Smh.).

So...that is why I am angry PDP did not build extra refineries all this time.

I am sure Johnnie Walker would have disbanded that team as he is known to do and we are where we are today.. Ask before you cast stones. You were owned by APC..You were misinformed.. Enjoy

And that does not excuse PDP not building refineries...or even telling us the truth about the mess in the petroleum sector.

Stop giving excuses sir...

I ain't. I said APC better address it. But I don't expect them to do it in 10 months. Some of us gave Jonathan 3 years...

Some even put it at 53 million extra liters per day!

as usual writing long episode of sh¡t. Isn't the new administration paying for subsidy again. Are people no more sleeping in filling station again? Is our rehabilitated refineries not down again? Is the inflation not on double digit again?...
Just keep on deluding them with emotional food as usuall.

And in response...from Vanguard May 21 , 2014.....

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/05/78-nigerians-buy-petrol-n97-per-litre-survey/

Opinion poll conducted by an independent firm, the NOIPoll Limited, has revealed that over 78 per cent of Nigerians bought petrol above the official pump price of N97 per litre between January and March, 2014.

And wait...there is more...

The quarterly average Q1 shows that the majority 53 per cent purchased petrol above the official pump price of N97 with the highest obtained in the North-East and South-East zones; while 44 per cent purchased at the official price.

If the APC does not build new refineries....or even start construction....then we should vote them out in 2019.

They could do them as Public Private partnerships.....

They still are paying the subsidy claims from last year...there was such a backlog....plus....they removed the subsidy because oil prcies fell so low...but brought it back when the prices went up.

And read the last bit of my original post....to see where I said APC should do something about it.
