Ted Cruz has no reasonable path to nomination. Hence the real winner in Wisconsin is the establishment: " The perfect week for the Republican establishment ended with Ted Cruz wining the Wisconsin primary. Cruz declared "it is a turning point" and he is correct it is indeed a turning point but not for Cruz. This is the point where the establishment take over the party. For months the establishment in the RNC has been leaking their wound for not taking Donald Trump seriously. They were running out of time and scared that it may be too late to stop the Trump train. They have supported about any candidate apart from Trump and have spent over $69 billion on the #NeverTrump movement. Trump rivals love the #NeverTrump campaign and they naively think it was meant to boost their own chances to become the GOP nominee. They think the establishment is now uniting behind them as the message is clear that it would never be Trump. John Kasich enjoyed the establishment support in Ohio. In fact Mitt Romney stood by him and told the people of Ohio "Vote Kasich" but John was shocked two weeks after the Ohio primaries when Mitt was standing by ted Cruz telling the people of Utah "Vote Cruz". Kasich looked confused on TV when asked why he kept using Romney’s image in advertisement when he was clearly supporting Cruz in Utah. Kasich replied “He supported me" Mitt has supported Marco Rubio in Florida and made robocalls on his behalf. This may look confusing to the apolitical folks but it's a strategy the establishment announced when Mitt Romney made his infamous speech in Utah on March 3, 2016. The strategy is to send a clear message to Donald Trump that the establishment and not the people (ordinary republicans) own the RNC." http://igunnu..co.uk/2016/04/wisconsin-gop-primary-results.html 1 Like |

^^ Makes sense. There is no way the Tea-publican establishment would support someone like Ted Cruz - a religious nut. John Kasich ain't the man either, because it's sooo clear that he ain't popular amongst Republicans outside Ohio. It could be that Speaker Paul Ryan would emerge as a 'consensus' nominee in Cleveland. His (secret) backers, including the Koch brothers believe that he is the right nominee to unite the different factions of the party... |

@CFCman, Are you saying if Trump wins NY or possibly NY and CA the establishment would still go ahead and hand pick Paul Ryan ? A big riot ahead then....just like Trump said. |

armyofone:If Trump doesn't get the required 1,237 delegates, the party could legally choose another candidate. But as you said, it would result in a massive riot, not only in Cleveland, but nationwide. If neither Trump nor Cruz or Kasich win a majority on the first ballot, some outsider candidate could solicit for votes on the convention floor - hence all the talk about Paul Ryan. In reality though, I think the delegates would swing to Trump if his political operatives do enough courting of them. |

Hillary Clinton will get to the magic number of 2,382 if she wins 64% of the remaining pledged delegates. Bernie Sanders will get to the same number if he wins 77% of the remaining pledged delegates. To date, Clinton has 1,280 pledged delegates, Sanders has 1,030 pledged delegates. To further compound Senator Sander's woes, only 3 nominating contests (Wyoming, Guam, and Virgin Islands) out of the remaining 21 are caucuses. Those 3 contests account for only 28 delegates out of the 1738 pledged delegates to be allocated from tomorrow till the June 14 D.C. primary. Most of Bernie's wins have been in caucus states; he won 10 caucus contests. The only primaries he has won are the New Hampshire, Michigan, Democrats abroad, Vermont, Wisconsin and Oklahoma primaries. Clinton has won 16 primaries and 3 caucuses (Iowa, Nevada, American Samoa) to date. She has won 59.2% of the delegates in the 22 primaries held so far. Clinton has won 165 delegates in the caucuses, so far, out of 509 pledged delegates in the past caucuses. 1 Like |

^btw, what criteria did you use, just curious. You didnt mention that. Aside from political experience (obviously, since most are Senators and Governors). btw, nothing wrong with your original list. |
Re: American Politics Lounge - Donald Trump Is US President-Elect ! by Nobody: 1:58am On Apr 11, 2016 |
itstpia8:Senators Kaine and Brown are both senators from key swing states. Putting either on the ticket could swing the election in Virginia and Ohio, respectively, to Hillary. Both senators are also popular in their states. Senator Al Franken has been in the Senate for 7 years and is a devoted voice for Progressives in the chamber. Before getting to the Senate, he was a well-known comedian. Julian Castro is the mayor of San Antonio, Texas. He is in his forties, and Hispanic. If he is on the ticket, he MAY swing the election in Texas for Clinton. No Democrat presidential nominee has carried Texas in more than 30 years. Moreover, a massive Latino turnout - a key constituency for Democrats - would ensue if he is paired with HRC. |

CFCman:Initially she was fuming as if she didn't like the publicity, although she later admitted to Charlie Rose of CBS News that Donald Trump had made her more popular, Trump gets free massive media coverage also but if it's good or bad publicity for him, only Cleveland convention or (if he wins the ticket) November election will tell. |

Found this comment on Hillary's Facebook page. Hillary is the most qualified candidate who has ever run for president. She is going into the job, fully understanding the pressures and responsibilities. She was a senator and Secretary of State. She served as First Lady of a state and understands the demands that governors have. There is no one, (Washington, Lincoln, Adams, Kennedy) who had a more comprehensive background for this job. I concur,no Presidential candidate has built a resume like hers ever. She knows the intrinisics of governance, power and diplomacy. Some funny memes I found 1 Like

Bernie Sanders stance on Israel has angered Jews both at home and abroad. This is a comment from a fellow Jew on Hillary's Facebook page.Sorry about the grammar, dude really has it out for Senator Sanders. Bernie Sanders is a LOSER , Israel hater. He born as a Jew, but he is a shame, a scum traitor for the jewish people. The people of Israel hates Sander. If is not good to Israel, can not be good to America . Americans do not deserve a man like this , NO CARATER, COWARD , IMORAL, LIAR, ....just a HUMAN TRASH !!! Another comment from another FB user.(BS=Bernie Sanders) BS is far more Despicable Than People realize He is a TRAITOR to his own people. According to an article published in the Jewish press "in 1971 before the Yom Kippur War he refused to let a shipment of guns go through to Israel", as a result a MASSACRE occurred!!! Hillary has always stood with Israel. |

If Donald Trump wins at least 83 New York delegates: - He would only need to get 53% of the remaining delegates to get to the magic number of 1,237 needed to win the nomination. - Ted Cruz would need to win 90% of the remaining delegates. - Kasich would need 143% of the remaining delegates |
