Why did you omit the other tweet where he said that the Lagos-Calabar rail line was never included in the budget? Is PMB dumb or just suffering from dementia or simply being mischievous? Why would he play on the intelligence of the people he's ruling? There was never a Lagos - Calabar rail but he mentioned it and tried to play the all loving president.

Damn! I can't help but hate this APC and Buhari more as the day goes by... angry

The project is there but the confusion is coming from Vanguard. The Rail Projects are going to be built by Chinese people and sponsored by the Chinese. It is not a Federal Budget project.

So there was a left over from the Budget and the Hausa Senators added it to their own Rail project.

The Lagos-Calabar rail line is a project from the Chinese loan which will be funded and built by the Chinese.

Vanguard made the wrong assumption that it was because of the Lagos-Calabar railway that the President returned the budget.

“Of particular interest is the coastal railway project stretching for 1,402 kilometers (871 miles) linking Lagos in the west with Calabar in the east; a project that is expected to be financed with a $12 billion Chinese loan and which will create about 200,000 jobs,” Shehu said.

“Another rail project that will be up for renegotiation is the $8.3 billion Lagos-Kano standard gauge modernization project, of which only a segment, Kaduna-Abuja has reached completion stage.”

What I do not get is that, if the Chinese are to do both rails, why are the Senators allocating funds for the completion of the Lagos-Kano rail project?

How do the Senators know the amount required to complete the project? Did they consult with the Transport Ministry?

There was left over and they chose one of their projects and allocated the money.

Why u dey use "sense" argue? Abeg oo... sense is not needed here, let's do it politics of bitterness & myopia style..

NASS members are international/world class civil engineers.. They've done cost analysis, feasibility studies & came up with their findings.. They can't ever be faulted.. tongue

The Senator even used complete it once and for all. How is he sure the money will complete it?

Do not worry. Let us wait for more details tomorrow.

Nigeria is to pay some portion of the money which is what he budgeted for. It happens most of the time. It's the same thing that killed the mambilla power project. We were suppose to pay our own part of the project while the Chinese complete the larger portion of the fund but the last administration shared everything amongst themselves.

By the way, I didn't see the Lagos-Calabar railway project when we were giving Fashola's ministry breakdown of project as captured in 2016 budget... Nawa for this budget!
Why not check Amechi's budget. Rail project is under ministry of transportation not power/works.
