Lol He epp me when i was doing my Nysc... Anyway back to the subject, I never said Msc=automatic employment, don't misquote me, all I am saying is that one has a "good chance". Foreign degrees vary. By school, graduates demand & also by grades. The core context of my example wasn't the amount. I also know someone finished from An Ivy league...she came back to Nigeria and was frustrated. She find job after 1yr she no see. But guess what, she is a geologist. An oil firm was recruiting and out of 10 candidates or so shortlisted , 8 were foreign degree holders. And she got the job! Now she no even send US for anything... Personally you set your sights on what you want to achieve before you start something, that doesnt mean priorities cannot change. But as one is looking out for opportunities in the US would you trash the options back in Nigeria? Mind you, most folks that come back to Nigeria with nothing so to say is when they prioritized US and they get nothing! Its all about planning and it doesnt hurt to start even before you enter the plane. I am also not saying if one gets a good offer in the US the person should rescind but the summary is there are good viable opportunities in the Nigerian job market. Just as this fuel scarcity is biting more than 90% of citizens, it is favoring some, even dem dey pray make e no end. Different strokes for different folks, doesnt hurt planning early slimmy2005: 1 Like |

We can go on and on arguing this subject.is the Sheffield guy a first class? If yes its his fault he is working on a 70k payroll. Why? Because he didnt do his Networking homework. The fact that he is on a 70k payroll is maybe "appalling" but we all as human beings have the power to change our destiny. He can get a pay rise after a while or get a job that pays higher. Make I just post comment. First @fortissimo I am very disappointed in u. I read your reply and wondered how weak your mind was (as at d time u wrote that). Bro, same way u're free to express your mind... others are free to express theirs. Opinions are always subject to criticisms. People can criticise u constructively or destructively, u either show balls and counter these or u simply ignore dem. Saying u'd leave the thread IN THAT MANNER was just disappointing. U fall my hand o. Strong guy no dey talk like that. Nigga, just ignore the matter and come back here. Person tackle u for here, u dey vex... if dem tackle u for embassy nko? U go vex carry ur file dey go house? Learn how to properly counter an argument/criticism without hurting... or just ignore and move on to other things. Secondly, people go still exchange blows for this thread as una dey go with this America's better than Naija (or vice versa) parole and trying to generalize based on particular incidents. Please whenever u wanna talk about 'come back to Nigeria and be better off', please indicate the Nigeria you're referring to. The present Nigeria is a bloody joke. Having to talk about it sef is annoying. Some people prefer to come back to Naija for reasons such as: I no fit beat my own pikin for Yankee, but for Naija, if e do nonsense... I go nearly kill am. Just imagine! To those chasing the American dream, don't give up. People are visiting the Embassies daily, people are succeeding daily, Read positive stories and be inspired. Read negative stories and come up with ways to avoid such situations. Enter Yankee, try to blend with the system, forget what people back home would say about your success or failure, it's your life. Try to give ur child the gift of American citizenship (u might think this is stupid, trust me... it's a great gift), live each day with a positive mind, Money isn't everything. Live this short life the best way possible and be happy with it when u're old. Whether u struggle abroad or live like a king in Abuja... Life is for rent. U'll give it back when it's time. 12 Likes 1 Share |

Mekurexx: I stopped reading after this! Before you change mouth... what this means is... as a first class graduate, your life is in your own hands, no other factor can have a say in the way your life is gonna be shaped, you are guaranteed success... it doesn't stop there, if it had been 2.1 or 2.2, u would have thought: well, he deserves it. Maybe I'm stupid to understand u but omo, na this kind reasoning dey make my stomach turn. u even talked about getting a payrise like it's his decision to raise his pay or getting a better job or any job at all is by snapping fingers! Guy! Things dey happen for this life o. Do u know how many PhD holders are suffering abroad and at home? When u engage dem in conversations, u'd be so impressed but omo, they're struggling. Abeg, no dey reason like that o. Life dey show people... be grateful and Abeg, no dey reason like that again. Shey na by first class? U never see when person go wan interview u for Naija but based on say u get first class for the uni wey him go, him get 2-2, him go just beef u, throw ur file commot and say No to u? Loooool.... Some people sha. Make I go sleep before I provoke. 5 Likes 1 Share |

wealthkata: Of course! The application materials are considered holistically. It means other aspects can make up for your low cgpa. In addition to this, if Shakara school no choose u, others go consider. It's like getting 190 utme and thinking u can't ever go to a university in Naija. If unilag, oau, unibadan no take u, other unis dey. If u get money, ginger and other things... nothing is impossible. 1 Like |

frankicon: Bro na u mess up, do you know why? She asked (you applied six months ago with computer engineering why mechanical engineering now). She is expecting to say Why mechanical engineering... I spent my time to give you that answer.. If you have answer this question, the third question will never come out.. Beside you have gain VO heart by holding her head.. ----------------------------------------- @frankico. Oya sit and write your points from what I sent you... Post whatever you write and gurus will look at it. Remember to add your points o nMechanical engineering is one of the broadest and oldest branches of engineering. Mechanical engineers are involved with the design, analysis, testing, manufacturing, control, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems - that is, any system that has a moving part Mechanical engineering is at the forefront of developing new technologies for a number of industries including transport, healthcare, construction, and robotics. What an exciting time to be alive and what an exciting time to be a mechanical engineer As a Mechanical Engineer you will play an instrumental role in the design and manufacture of items that impact on modern living and our everyday lives. Whether it’s household goods, sports equipment, reliable cars and transport systems. Mechanical Engineers play a key role in the development of new technologies, which often have to operate dependably in difficult environments: from life-enhancing medical implants and robots for volcanic exploration to large-scale projects such as the International Space Station |

frankicon: Sorry but you have messed this up badly You have a major change in what you want to study but can not explain why. Computer to Mech Eng, what are your plans after study, do you know anything about the subjects? This is the first thing that you should have thought of. You applied to Community College which we keep telling people is a risk. You were un-clear about your reasons or purpose. The visa officer will have noted that you seem desperate to get to USA by changing story. You should wait a year now and get your life and story in order. 2 Likes |

Good morning haos, pls i have heard of graduate students deferring their admissions on getting to the US for the first session probably for the right reasons (finance) i guess. Pls is that possible? And if it is, how will the student get his or her visa to complete his studies? |
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 8 by worry359(m): 9:13am On Apr 11, 2016 |
hi2chuxy: You can defer study BEFORE joining a school. If you get there and can not pay they will reject you and notify immigration to cancel your visa. You must then leave or become illegal. 1 Like |

worry359: Thanks for your prompt response.. For more clarity, do you mean one can defer over there or here in Nig.? A friend of mine once told me that his friend went to the US and reported to the school. He gave them stories about some financial set backs. He said they allowed him to defer and gave him a letter in that regard and he was allowed to work for the first session before going back to school. pls can that be true? |
