Does It Mean No Internet Service Provision For Those With 2/3g Phones On Ntel? by eezor: 1:16pm On Apr 11, 2016 |
Pls, I want to know because more than 75% of phones in Nigeria are mainly 2/3g enabled. If Ntel offered 4/LTE internet services only, with no 2/3g, then it means those with such phones(2/3g) can't subscribed and use their internet service. Is it true or there is also 2/3g service provision in addition to their 4g/LTE network? 1 Like |

They probably do have 2G and 3G services. But their main selling point is 4GLTE, that is where their marketing focus have been. 19 Likes 4 Shares |

what's the point of coming on the bandwagon if you're not enjoying their 4G-LTE-A services that's the selling point na. I think they offer only 4G, therefore the emphasis on VoLTE. dem Swift, Smile only offer 4G so your M3 might need an M5 upgrade. 4 Likes 1 Share

eezor: Bro, a company offering 4g doesn't mean it doesnt offer other bands. Dey ar jst telling u dat dey ar capable of delivering 4g network. So even if naa touch light fone u use, it will work wit ntel. All network must offer d very basic network band. I.e GPRS Edge aka 2g Umts aka 2.5g Wcdma aka 3g/H HSDPA aka 3.75g or H+ LTE aka 4g bt mind u, dia are different bandwidth within 4g network So if ur download speed aint up to 12mb/sec Den its a fake 4g network e.g Swift and spectranet are fake 4g network dey ar actually 3.75g isolated Modified Ppul trying to correct me dat some networks provide jst 4g bands and not other band. Wellbits like u all got it mixed up. If a network is goin into calling sms and d likes den it must b ready to provide other bands. Also a point of note, ntel is providing sim carss to all subscribers bt smile,Swift and co are providing dongles before u can use dem. And if u read abt d introduction of ntel. Dey said "the fifth netwrok providers" wich implies dat swift, spectranet and d likes aint network provider bt data provider as u cant use dia sim on a nornal fone except on dongle. So am stil right by goin with d aforementioned assertion. Tanx 33 Likes 4 Shares |

eezor: A non 4g phone will work, just that u won't get the speed of LTE. If ur phone is 3g then ur internet speed will stay within 3g. Some people even prefer to turn 4g LTE off on their phone because that thing can run battery down at an alarming rate especially when LTE I'd fluctuating and phone keeps searching for a network. Every 4g phone has a toggle to turn 4g off or on. If I'm browsing a not too heavy website, I would prefer to turn 4g off and stay on 3g to save battery, leave the 4g LTE for downloading and streaming. 1 Like |

Phones with 3G should work just fine. The LTE standard was developed by the 3GPP project which also developed GSM/UMTS networks so it is a natural upgrade and is backward compatible with those previous technologies just that the option of LTE is now available which provide faster speeds. |
