Hello House, Ontario has remain silent with nomination and ITA score by CIC is not coming down at all. I read the New Brunswick pnp guide and the requirements seems not too difficult and it is also always open. Please has anyone also checked or am i missing something in the guide? Has anyone in the house also tried the New Brunswick pnp, if yes please share experience with us. One needs to rush for pnp nomination before ielts start to face expiry threat.

while filling out the forms, i noticed that there's nothing like professional degree. This is all i find there.

1)You must provide proof that you completed your post-secondary education. Examples of proof of education include a diploma and/or degree. Examples of post-secondary education are:

Trade/apprenticeship

Training in a specific trade, such as carpentry or auto mechanics;
Training in a profession that requires formal education but not at the university level (for example, dental technician or engineering technician); or
Training not at the university level for which a certificate/diploma is awarded.

Bachelor’s degree

ok one of the forms says this:

Diploma" means a diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship certificate. "Degree" means a University degree.
A "professional degree" prepares a person for a certain profession. People need to be licensed to practice in the profession. The degree program must have been in: medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, optometry, law, chiropractic medicine, or pharmacy. Examples:

First professional degree in: Medicine (Doctor of Medicine), Veterinary Medicine, or Dentistry
Doctor of Dental Surgery degree
Doctor of Medicine, Chiropractic, Optometry, Podiatry, or Veterinary Medicine degree
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree
Bachelor of Law
Juris Doctor

"Trade or technical school," sometimes called "vocational school," means a school, usually at the college level, that teaches skills needed to do a certain job or craft.

To get the correct number of points, make sure you choose the answer that best reflects your case. For example:
If you have TWO Bachelor degrees, or one bachelor AND a two year college diploma, choose" Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years.
If you did not earn a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate, you may need to have your foreign education assessed by an agency approved by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. They must show that it is valid, and equal to a completed Canadian credential.

pretty much corresponds with what i got on d doc checklist page.

This is an academic degree awarded by a college or university to those who completed an undergraduate curriculum (also called a baccalaureate). Example: a Bachelor of Arts, Science or Education.

Master’s degree

This is an academic degree awarded by a graduate school of a college or university.

Ph.D.

This is the highest university degree, usually based on at least three years of graduate studies and a thesis. Normally, you must have completed a Master’s degree before a Ph.D. can be earned.

this is the explanation from CIC for FSWP. i know FSWP's been phased out but i think it provides an insight into this Bachelors degree thing we got on our WES ECA.

(Maximum 25 points)

You can earn selection points for your education.

To get points, you must:

prove that you earned a Canadian diploma or certificate, OR
have your foreign education assessed by an agency approved by CIC to show it is valid and equal to a completed Canadian credential.Footnote 2

You must include your Canadian credential or your foreign credential and Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report when you apply.
Education Maximum 25 points
University degree at the Doctoral (PhD) level or equalFootnote 2 25 points
University degree at the Master’s level or equalFootnote 2 OR University level entry-to-practice professional degree (or equalFootnote 2). Occupation related to the degree must be:

NOC 2011 Skill Level A, and
licensed by a provincial regulatory body.

Note: Degree program must be in one of these fields of study: Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Podiatry, Optometry, Law, Chiropractic Medicine, or Pharmacy.
23 points
Two or more Canadian post-secondary degrees or diplomas or equalFootnote 2 (at least one must be for a program of at least three years) 22 points
Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma for a program of three years or longer, or equalFootnote 2 21 points
Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma for a two-year program, or equalFootnote 2 19 points
Canadian post-secondary degree or diploma for a one-year program, or equalFootnote 2 15 points
Canadian high school diploma, or equalFootnote 2

Hello All,

Please Im new to this forum and I need suggestions on a particular situation bothering me. My husband and I just got PPR request for passport for visa issuance from the Canadian Embassy, after a very long wait . We had taken our minds off it n assumed it was refused without communication . At the moment, I am in the US for childbirth . Due to return to Nigeria mid June. We have been given 30days to respond with our police certificate from the UK and also to send our passports for the visas. My own take on it is for my husband to go ahead to process his since he is the primary applicant and inform the embassy that I am not in the country and will send mine when I get back. Another suggestion we got was to notarise a photocopy of my passport and keep for my use here in the US while I send my original to the Canadian Embassy In Accra or to my husband. I am not comfortable with these options because I dont want to get stranded here waiting for my passport when its time to return to Nigeria. Also I need to process the baby documents and its not certain that I will be allowed to notarise as a non-resident of the US.

Considering the timeline we have been given, How can we ensure this application is not cancelled. Please anyone who has a suggestion on how best to handle this.

Here's what I suggest you do. If your husband is in Nigeria, he should go ahead and send his passport as requested. Then he should request a change in local VO for you. Also in sending his passport, he should notify CIC that you have a baby on the way.

Anyway, so CIC will send a new PPR for you to send your passport to Ottawa. Make sure YOU wait till you get that change of VO email. Once it comes, send your own passport to Ottawa... as that is the place where the PR visa is issued for people in the US.

I hope this helps.

Thanks all for the kind wishes. I feel so blessed. As you have celebrated with me, my sincere prayer is that you too will get your PPR soon and will be celebrated as well. Amen

Although I am still a novice too, I will definitely stay to render as much assistance as I can to people on this thread cos I would not have made it this far without assistance from others.

I wish everyone still waiting for ITA, IELTS result and PPR all the best.

Congratulations @dupyshoo and everyone that got their PR! So happy for you all

CIC does not require the fund to be 6months old, they just want 6months history(mostly for those using Savings or Current Account), the balance at 6months when you are submitting whatever you are using as pof is what matters so, your gift deed is not required to be 6months old.

What about Treasury bill/Fixed Deposit certificates?

Hi Iphie25, Do u have an ITA already?
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Beem4cupid: 3:28pm On Apr 12, 2016
There is a landed property jointly owned by me and my hubby which we plan to sell as proof of funds. The funds will be paid into my account. Will there be need for my husband to write to CIC that he is willing to allow the funds to be used as pof? I don't think a gift deed will be necessary since it is joint ownership. Kindly comment on this.
Also, if my hubby is out of the country when PPR is issued, how will he send his passport for visa issuance
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by dupyshoo: 4:30pm On Apr 12, 2016
I think your husband should write a letter of explanation that he is in support of the decision to use the money from the sales of the land to support your immigration to Canada.
You can always request for a change to a VO close to where he is then. It takes about 2 weeks for IRCC to issue another PPR after the request for change of VO is made.

I know someone who did fixed deposit just 2days before submitting her docs and she was given. She however submitted other things like statement of her salary account and wrote a letter of explanation. Like i said earlier, the 6months thing is mostly for savings and current account, not investment stuffs like FD and TB or Gift Deed.

Hello, Good morning. New to this forum and I have taken time to read few pages back. Thanks to Jesusdway and other gurus in the house. I still have some itches to clarify after reading please. I would really appreciate if any health professional (preferably a physiotherapist but wouldn't mind any ) already in the pool or planning to apply can quote me.

Please could you clarify this pof thing?
does cic require a minimum 6 months bank statement with each month (of these 6 months) showing a minimum balance of $18,617 (hypothetical family of 3). Or does cic require a minimum 6 months bank statement showing a closing minimum balance of $18,617?
For example, Mr A is the principal applicant of aforementioned family of 3, has 6 months current account statement showing regular inflow and outflow and closing balance of said amount. At month 1, closing balance was $13k, month 2, 15k, month 3,12k, month 4,16k, month 5, 18k, month 6, 19k.
Is Mr A's POF eligible?

saw your post on the other forum. you can delete that by clicking on your moniker and scrolling through your posts and deleting that particular one.
I really am not sure as to what the best way to handle this is, but I think that you would want to know first of all, how long it takes to get your passport back after sending it in for the COPR at both the Accra office and the Ottawa office. The VO with the faster turn around choice should be your best bet.
have you delivered already? If you haven't then you will have to consider an extension to your current trip as long as you would not be exceeding a 6 months' stay. The extra duration is to allow you get your passport back.
However, i believe that it is possible to get an ETC for yourself to return to Nigeria if the need arises. But you would have to figure out if you have a safe return delivery address for your passport if you do choose to use the Ottawa office as I believe they would be returning your passport to a US address.
As regards your baby's international passport, you can explore the possibility of notarizing your passport and your us visa page now before you send it in for the copr. just in case. also, if you have your driver's license as another photographic ID, it may come in handy as well.
You have about 2 months till you leave the states, i do not think it will take 2 months to get your passport back from a visa office, although others with first hand experience can chip in.
these are my thoughts.

Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by dupyshoo: 10:46am On Apr 13, 2016
IRCC does not even require bank statements. To be specific, see the quote below for what is required

"If you are applying for permanent residence in Canada, you must provide an official letter issued by your financial institution indicating your financial profile. This must:

list of all your bank (chequing and savings) and investment accounts, the account numbers, dates each account was opened and the balance of each account over the past six months,
list all outstanding debts, such as credit cards and loans,
be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution, and include your name and the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and e-mail address).
"

In my own opinion, Mr A's POF is good to go as we are not expected to keep the money in the account from the start of the 6 months. A gradual build up of the amount is fine. You are however required to have the whole amount as your current balance on your submission date. I did not have the whole amount for the 6 months and my application was approved.

The general belief is that IRCC wants to see the average balance over 6 months period to be sure you did not borrow the money. Difference of more than 20-25% between the average balance and the current balance will be suspicious. It will be assumed one deposited a huge sum after getting ITA. Some applications have been rejected because of this. In order to disprove this and to be on the safe side, it is better to explain the huge difference, if there is any, between the avg. bal and current bal.
