When Did Microbiology Graduates Start Having Practicing License? by Nobody: 9:15am On Apr 12, 2016 |
I just saw an advert concerning the federal medical center Owerri ongoing recruitment for residency programme. but these words below surprised me: Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacancy positions for Residency programmes at Federal Medical Centre, Owerri in the following departments: Paediatrics Family Medicine Internal Medicine Obstetrics and Gynaecology Surgery Anaesthesiology Ophthalmology Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) Morbid Anatomy Haematology Chemical Pathology Microbiology Radiology To qualify for appointment, candidates must possess primaries, NYSC discharge certificate and current practicing license. now, my question is this, when did microbiology graduates start using practicing license? i am a bsc microbiology holder and i really want to apply. |

It all started when Ebola broke out. Lol..... On a more serious note, find out and get in touch with the national association of your profession and you'll be detailed on what to do and how to go about it. All the best.... 1 Like |

The truth is microbiologists are being sidelined because we are not a recognised professional body, just an association (Nigerian Society of Microbiology). The former president Late Prof. Akpan died trying to achieve this goal but the dream died with him, nobody is fighting for it again (i think, and if they are its without zeal). The SLTs (Science Laboratory Technologists) have been professionalised and they operate with license but Microbiologists dont. Bro, apply you don't need a licence, ur ability in interview is your only hope. God will favor you in Jesus name |

EnuguJOBHUNT:Morbid Anatomy( Histopathology) Chemical Pathology Microbiology ( Medical microbiology option) and Haematology , are all branches under Medical Laboratory Sciences........ They're talking about Medical Laboratory Scientists that specialized in Medical Microbiology....... So I don't think you can apply |

davbravo:Nigerians are damn funny. You saw an advert for residency programmes, yet, you still used the word 'maybe'. It's an advert for resident doctors who wish to specialise in medical microbiology. |
