Many thanks to those who have contributed on this forum. Inputs have been very informative. Folks, kindly educate me on this issue. My wife is planning to give birth in the US, and she is expected to leave Nigeria next month (May). She already has a US visa as she travelled twice last year. However, my son and I intend to join her in the States sometimes before or after her delivery. Question (1): Would you advise that my son and I apply for the US visa before she leaves for the US (so we can all appear together) or after she gets to the US? Question (2): Would she be required or allowed to join us during the visa interview since she is not a primary applicant? Thank you. |

successguide505: I don't think it matters if you guys apply while she is in Nigeria or not,it doesn't make any difference where she is at the time of your application. Just tell them at interview that you guys are going to witness the birth of your baby and that your wife already has a visa. ( I'm assuming she told them at the interview that she was pregnant or that she was not pregnant at time of interview). It might also do you good to go with doctor, hospital correspondence and a photocopy of her visa page for interview . She will not be allowed to enter with you guys for the interview |

hello everyone. Please I need some clarifications. I intend to travel for child birth in July and I have some questions about visa application. DH filled separate DS160 forms for both of us. Then at the point of booking for appointment for interview, he booked as an additional applicant traveling with me. He then noticed that his visa type changed from b1/b2 to b2. Visa gurus in the house. Are we supposed to book for the interview separately? What should we have done differently? Thank you |

ajiedeko: Yes some hospitals have stopped accepting international patients but others still do. I don't think you really went through posts here for mums who have used Dallas because I think many have. Have you tried using the link in first page to search? |

Hello All, please Im new to this forum and I need suggestions on a particular situation bothering me. My husband and I just got PPR request for passport for visa issuance from the Canadian Embassy, after a very long wait . We had taken our minds off it n assumed it was refused without communication . At the moment, I am in the US for childbirth . Due to return to Nigeria mid June. We have been given 30days to respond with our police certificate from the UK and also to send our passports for the visas. My own take on it is for my husband to go ahead to process his since he is the primary applicant and inform the embassy that I am not in the country and will send mine when I get back. Another suggestion we got was to notarise a photocopy of my passport and keep for my use here in the US while I send my original to the Canadian Embassy In Accra or to my husband. I am not comfortable with these options because I dont want to get stranded here waiting for my passport when its time to return to Nigeria. Also I need to process the baby documents and its not certain that I will be allowed to notarise as a non-resident of the US. Considering the timeline we have been given, How can we ensure this application is not cancelled. Please anyone who has a suggestion on how best to handle this. |

Iwanawana: E funny now but that scene + the endless wait nor funny then ooo, after positive thinking, my mind will then veer to how i wont even bother to call my H . Dearest to pick me up.. Would just take the next flight to Lag , enter lag before calling him & just hide in my MIL's bedroom till baby come.... Frenemies plenty, nor be me person go laugh, but God didn't abdicate the throne, it was the wait that was long & nerve wracking, the main interview wasn't so bad.. However on my return journey back to naija with baby, dem still go lay siege for plane mouth, planning to cancel Visa if i use medicare (& maybe collect "dem" pikin) but my receipt was in my hand luggage, so e pain dem small!! Nor be me, if dem plan to catch today, na next week be their portion.. If not what happened in 1914 would repeated have itself!! Chicago POE........ ..uhhhmmmm cc happytbaby 2 Likes 1 Share |

@Modath, making tired pregnant women wait endlessly I don't even find amusing. What was amusing me was raising left nyansh for them! Cracked me up for real. But truth be told, Chicago and Houston Poes reach to raise both nyash for one after the other. Infact even with thighs join sef. 1 Like 2 Shares |
