The clamour for the independent state of Biafra has received another deadly blow as the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom have said they do not recognise the passports being issued by the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB.


The National Director of Information, MASSOB, Sunny Okereafor, had said two weeks ago that the passport was valid worldwide, adding that the travel document costs N5,000 while its renewal costs N2,000.

He had said, “I assure you that the Biafran passport is valid. Except Nigeria, other countries of the world accept Biafran passport and allow our citizens to travel with it.


“In Europe, North and South America, Biafran passport is accepted. Nigeria is the only country that seizes Biafran passport. Go to neighbouring Ghana here, they will stamp the passport for you. Don’t be confused by the propaganda of the Nigerian government that there is nothing like Biafra passport.

“MASSOB appeals to Biafran citizens to procure their passport and use it to travel. If you doubt me, get a Nigerian passport while I have my Biafran passport; when we get to Europe, you will see who they will welcome than the other. Many people with the Nigerian passport have been repatriated, but have you heard of anybody with Biafran passport receiving such ill-treatment?”

However, the American consulate in Lagos has denied the claim when contacted by Punch.

Reacting to the claim, the Deputy Public Affairs Officer at the consulate, Frank Sellin, said, “The United States does not consider passports purporting to be from a Biafra entity to be a valid legal document for purposes of visa issuance.”


Similarly, the British Government said the claims by the Biafra protesters were untrue.

A statement by the Press and Public Affairs Officer, British High Commission, Abuja, Mr. Joe Abuku, read in part, “The answer is unequivocally ‘no’. The UK does not recognise the so-called Biafran passport

“The position of the UK Government during the Biafran War is a matter of historical record. The UK Government’s position, which reflected the Charter of the Organisation of African Unity, was to recognise the borders laid down at independence.

“The Biafran War caused great suffering and the UK supported the reconciliation work that followed the conflict. The UK supports the territorial integrity of Nigeria and the Nigerian Government’s commitment to work for a secure and prosperous Nigeria for all Nigerians.”

He is from Abia and not Imo.
Though what he is doing is a treason act according to the constitution but its wrong to equate it to terrorism fanatics like boko haram.
Nigeria need to embrace Regionalism or Federalism or Loose Confederacy so that the whole issue of seccession will go down.
Your almight DSS have not been able to substantiate their treason charge against him and now u nobody, u even claimed ur idiocy is constitutional, please give us its citation so that we will read it ourselves or at least u give a helping hand to the DSS since them themselves were unable to locate same sections in the constitution

At the present time and under political and social insecurity around the country Fulani herdsmen is a greater threat than Boko Haram.

Fulani herdsmen is a non conventional armed service benefitting political agendas, and by extension the economic vision and religious domination of Nigeria by Notherners.

This army is well funded and supplied with high grade assault gears and their incursion and invasion into non Fulani land and non Muslim territories is facilitated by statutory security agents of the Federation. They have assault rifles and a steady supply stream of ammunitions. Even though they are not educated they have geo-positioning devices and land marker maps to aid their movement and passage through unfamiliar forests. Two Fulani herdsmen killed somewhere in the West region at different periods and in unconnected circumstance had night vision goggles in their travelling gear. These goggles are exhorbitant to own, they are highly inaccessible to the general public. In a night assault night vision goggles track body heat and respiratory functions. You can hide and avoid danger from an attacker without these goggles but you cannot conceal yourself successfully from an attacker who wears one....as you breath and produce body heat he can see your hiding position and come to attack you there.

The Fulani parallel army is a serious one.

OP, MASSOB and IPOB are not incursing into other people territories to wipe them out as Fulanis are doing. Stop talking ill of MASSOB or IPOB. Their demand is not to crush others for Biafra, but rather to isolate and get the he11 0ut of Nigeria, it is a legitimate call, the approach may be wrong.

Those who are being sponsored, facilitated and taught the art of war and siege are a present danger. Every Nigerian below River Niger ought by now to make Fulani problem a constant irritant and to blog about it and position it as a shame and embarrassment of the National Security Forces and presurre our lawmakers to recognise it as number1 security problem, bokoharam being number 2.

The different militias in the South should make haste and gear up, pound for pound, not only to defend their domains but also regain control of the dialogue on grazing corridor. IT MUST NOT BE PASSED INTO LAW!

When it comes to the floor for vote we want a public disclosure of vote list. Any Southerner legislator, regardless of party or status, who votes to cut pieces of land from our farmers and yield them to Fulani to feed his cows risks assassination on himself and or a total wipe out of his family in bloodshed.

There is need for CHANGE in the South. This is it!

Understanding the word "treason" can be relative though but you brandishing that word without proving Kanu guilty is rather inconceivable.

He's fighting for his fundamental right and freedom of association and has nothing to do with treason. It's enshrined in the UN charter.

The killings are not caused by the Igbos but by Imo state people that created the monsters called MASSOB and IPOB. I will suggest that Buhari should focus the military strength in Imo state as it is being shown in the NE.

Imo state indigene named Ralph Uwazulike founded MASSOB in 1999 for his selfish and demonic ambition while also another Imo state indigene in the person of Nnamdi Kanu seeing that Uwazulike led MASSOB had flourished financially over the years, left MASSOB and floated his own organization called IPOB. Both organizations used mostly jobless miscreants from Imo state to unleash mayhem and arson within their state and beyond. They have used the organization to create bad blood and disaffection between Igbos and other ethnic groups.

Today, Imo state indigene led organizations(MASSOB and IPOB) have grown so much that they are now kidnapping and killing people in parts of Abia and Imo states mostly visitors. This has prompted the DSS to intensify manhunt for the likes of Uwazulike led MASSOB and his members. The organization tried similar thing few years back in Anambra and Enugu states but met a brick-wall and they retreated.

In a nutshell, both organization are profit making ones, they scam people through fake international passports thereby enriching themselves and their families. They are not fighting for anybody but their purse and bank accounts. Real Igbos should dissociate themselves from these criminals. Both men are scam artistes going about duping people with the fake hope of getting them fixed in juicy places when the new country is achieved. Hopeless dream I must say!

Federal government should treat Uwazulike and Kanu both from Imo state as terrorists just like they are now treating Boko Haram. MASSOB and IPOB are the greatest enemies of Ndi-Igbo. These people are the real problem of the Igbos and not the Hausa nor Yoruba as falsely claimed by some people.

This thread is not meant to spite any group or state but to set the record straight.

Buhari do something ASAP!

Stop running away from the reality! We need to start tracing the problem from their states of origin which happens to be Imo state. Both MASSOB and IPOB originated from Imo state where their founders come from.

Buhari should declare total war on Imo state for producing and nurturing the miscreants and criminals that formed MASSOB and IPOB. Their state of origin is paramount here. The same way Bornu is seen as the spiritual and physical head office of Boko haram is the same way MASSOB/IPOB has it's spiritual and physical head office in Okwe/Owerri in Imo state. #FACT!

**MASSOB/IPOB is an Imo state thing and should be treated as such. Genuine Igbos are industrious law abiding people except for these people.
