Abdulmumin Jibrin to Remove the Lagos-Calabar Railway project because it was not in the first budget (even though it was in the amended budget with the government setting aside money for the project). The Minister for Budget and Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, told our reporter at the weekend that the government included the project in the 'amended budget' and passed it to the Standing Committees of the Senate and the House of Representatives. But Arewa planners of Nigeria have another ulterior motive. The motive is that a coastal route they propose shall be easier for them to monitor for continued exploitation of the riches of the southsouth, as the route was designed to transport oil workers and oil products from the southsouth through the southwest and onward to the north, through the Lagos to Abuja standard gauge train lines meant to connect to the Kaduna to Abuja standard rail gauge lines that are ready for commission.
