BAD idea!

if this is how PDP plans to rig itself into office, it is "Dead On Arrival".

National I.D card does not have all the Biometrics and Security Features of the Electoral card.
It is not machine readable as well.

Chip & pin nor dey! D.o.D, l repeat.

It can still be used for just identification.... like we use our Passports

Good idea if its ever implemented. I see no need for the government to issue different ID cards for voting, and other purposes. As far as I know, the National ID card is being issued on a rolling basis, against the periodic issuance of voters card, that lasts for a few months, which may only capture a fraction of eligible voters.
Here, state ID cards are valid for voting purposes, as it establishes residency in a state.

it can as well replace ATM cards, drivers' licence, international passport, NEPA bill, or even presidential tickets, that one doesn't still change the fact that non of APC and PDP will rule this country come 2019...

Except you form your own party and use charm on Nigerians, either of the two aforementioned parties will be voted in come 2019. Don't throw yourself into delusion

Not true, it is way secure than the current voters card, it is a very secure card that can be readable, but the unfortunate reality is that government agencies have a way of turning gold to sawdust. Imagine registering for a card and years after it is not ready

I've read stories of people that registered for the card, and 2/3 years down the line, they haven't received theirs. It's a big shame that the FG can't manage such a simple task. Ideally, ID cards should be available within 3-4 weeks after registration.

If the national ID card will be used to establish voter identity, then I think application for the ID card should be restricted to individuals who are 18 years old and above. Or it could still be issued to 16 year olds, but the card should indicate the year that the 16 or 17 year old turns 18.

Have you seen the card at all? And you say it not Chip & Pin...

In actual fact, the planned National ID Card is more secure than even that voters card u r hailing. Try pass your voters card near a magnet then go and use it to vote...Lai lai card reader no go sabi who u be!

SMH

He is talking of the data contained in voter card and by extension the quality of the database and not just the Card.

i registered since mid 2014, card not ready yet. It is quite shameful, the 2003 card registration exercise was also largely a failure, as barely half of those registered got their cards, and it had lots of errors.

It's so pathetic. And the government doesn't seem to care about providing quality public services to it's taxpayers.
I hope you get your card some day.

Which ID Card? The ones we cannot register for abi?

Sometimes, I'm just tired of this country and the policies we bandy about.

We want to be like US but we won't allow ourselves to b like US.

Everything has been digitalized yet we're not getting it right...multiple stores of the same data...BVN, National ID Card, Passport, Driver's Licence, Voter's Card...

And even then you'd never get it at official prices.

Driver's Licence: official price N6750; actual...if you're lucky...15k

Passport: official price ~9k for 32 pages; actual...like 30k!

I can go on and on...

FUEL PRICE: Official - "Buhari knows"; Actual - "We know best"
