FOUR (4) YEAR DURATION B.Sc. Computer Science
Admission Requirements
Applicants must possess at least (5) credit passes in SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB at not more than two sittings and the subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics with any two of the following subjects: Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics and Geography

THREE (3) YEAR DURATION
Admission Requirements
Ordinary National Diploma (OND) from recognised Polytechnics with a minimum of Upper Credit in Computer Science or Computer Engineering/Technology or any other relevant disciplines may also be considered.
Ordinary National Diploma (OND) from recognised Polytechnics with a minimum of Lower credit in Computer Science or Computer Engineering/Technology with relevant professional qualifications may be considered.
Higher National Diploma (HND) from recognised Polytechnics with pass in Computer Science or Computer Engineering/Technology or other relevant disciplines may also be considered.
Good Credit passes in ‘A’ Level certificate in relevant subjects may also be considered.

TWO (2) YEAR DURATION
Admission Requirements
Higher National Diploma (HND) from recognized Polytechnics with a minimum of Lower Credit in Computer Science or Computer Engineering/Technology or other relevant disciplines may also be considered.
Third Class degree in Computer Science

Candidates in every category above must obtain Five (5) Credit passes at not more than two sittings in WAEC, NABTEB and or NECO as stated in A above.

LAUTECH Open and Distance Learning FAQs


1. What is ODL (Open and Distance Learning)?
ODL is a system of education in which education is imparted to Learners who may not be physically present on campus. Its philosophy is to remove barriers to education and allow learners to study according to their time, pace and place. ODL also uses technology to mediate learning.

2. What is the difference between LODLC and studying in conventional LAUTECH?
In a conventional education system, learners need to attend daily lectures and be present in the campus. Therefore, for a working adult learner, this system will be difficult for them to study and work at the same time. However, for LODLC programmes, learners can work and further their education at the same time. Learners are also not required to travel for classes every day.

3. How does LODLC support the learning process of a student?
a) Course Materials:
Learners will be provided with a set of comprehensive course materials to support learning and are expected to engage in self-learning. These materials will be in texts (both electronic and printed) and multimedia formats (i.e. interactive DVDs)
b) Learning Management System (LMS):
Learners will also be supported by a Learning Management System designed as a platform to allow students, tutors and administrators to input information for learning, supporting and keeping track of the learning process. The system is commonly used for uploading/downloading course content, course updates, important announcements, etc.
c) Tutorial Support Services:
Under the ODL mode of study, learners need not attend daily lectures. However, in a semester, learners are required to meet with their appointed qualified Tutors and Learner Support Staffs over several days as fixed online/LMS. These tutors facilitate the learning process and assist learners to have a better understanding of their courses.
d) Blended Mode of Course delivery:
Course delivery shall be by a blended mode, which means that technology delivery will be supplemented by a short period of residency not exceeding four weeks. Students will also be required to be physically on campus during examinations and for four weeks for revision and interactions prior to examinations. During this period, the centre will assist to liaise with private hostel manager for accommodation for willing students at their own cost.

4. What programmes does LODLC offer?
Computer Science is the only programme we are presently operating. Very soon, accounting, marketing and nursing programme will commence.

5. What is the Duration of the Programme?
Minimum duration for the LODLC Degree programmes is for four (4) years. Maximum duration of a 4years study is 8years, and so on. No candidate may spend more than twice the normal allowable minimum duration for any program.

6. How will I receive lectures?
Our students receive lectures online

7. Are Attendances and assessments compulsory?
YES! You are expected to participate regularly in topic-specific online discussions. This will ensure an effective learning community is maintained which will significantly increase the quality of and commitment to your studies. Therefore attendance will be examined to ensure contributions are being made in a regular fashion. You will also be assessed on your contributions to the discussions.

8. Will my degree certificate say online learning?
There is no mention of online study on the degree certificate. ODL students shall not be discriminated against in any way. No distinction shall be placed on their certificates or transcript to differentiate them from other modes. OUR PARITY OF ESTEEM ARE EXEMPLARY.

9. What happens if my circumstances change during my studies?
If your personal situation changes during your studies, we will work with you through our Information Advice and Guidance (IA&G) and Guidance and Counselling officers.


10. When I finished my programme, will I be mobilized for NYSC?
YES! You will be mobilize for National Youth Service (NYSC) once you complete your programme.

Sorry for the late response, Yes the form is still available. You can apply through lodlc.lautech.edu.ng. Since you have HND in computer science, you should be consider for admission into 300 level and you will to spend 2 years (i.e 300l and 400l)

i heard bnsc nursing is now available on ODL lautech. After completion of the programme will RM certificate be given.

The programme is easy and flexible................you study at the comfort of your home. you only come to school for 2 weeks; for face to face facilitation (1 week) and examination (1 week). For more information, you can send your enquiry to helpdesk@lautech.edu.ng

NO................in LODLC,there is no discrimination between regular student and ODL student; has they will have thesame certificate. What i mean is that, there will be no Open and Distance Learning Centre on the certificate of ODL student, it's LAUTECH that you will have on it and it is the same certificate with regular student.
