omenka:There is no admission of guilt in her statement. She merely stated what she has always said: That the governors and some members of political parties frustrated the efforts of her and the executive to save for the future. The only thing she did was to leave that part out. It is inconsequential to mention the names of Fashola and Amaechi in a lecture at an American College 2 Likes 1 Share |

modath:That Propaganda against Amaechi is getting stale. Govs forum was even dominated by pdp govs, so why single out Amaechi? Even at that, why was fg under gej drawing from the savings without appropriate approval from nass? and they turn around to blame Amaechi. Hatred just blocks clear reasoning. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Mboi2: Did you read what I wrote? NOI talked about the WILL TO SAVE. She took money from the ECA without appropriation and behind the backs of the Governors. That is where the Governors lost the WILL to save because the Coordinating Minister of the Economy did not have the WILL to save. She could not think of an avenue to pay for the Subsidies, despite us in plenty. If you enter agreement with your business partner to save for a big deal. Then you find out your partner took money from the savings, will you have the WILL to continue saving? 10 Likes |

it did not begin with GEJ it began with our Founding Fathers.. rather than grow and innovate, they got greedy, lazy, proud and stupid.. today we are reaping the stale drought of our leaders 40-50 years ago... guess what.. THEY ARE STILL IN THE SYSTEM - WHERE IS THE CHANGE 1 Like |

/ It is so unimaginable that folks are ever ready to blame everyone that served under Goodluck Jonathan except GEJ himself. My question: What was GEJ doing in the Presidency? Everything that happened was because of GEJ's incompetence and his subordinates used that weakness against him--never had the lack of respect for a sitting President been so apparent. \ 17 Likes |

tbaba1234: Obama has already nominated Merrick Garland, but the Congress has refused to give him a hearing, not to talk of a confirmation. In 1989 President George Bush Snr got elected on the basis that he would cut taxes, but when the congress became dominated by Democrats, they made sure that he could not accomplish this. At the next election, he lost to Bill Clinton, for failing to fulfil his promise. Did he lack political will. Infact he went on live tv shortly after his election, and stated the famous "READ MY LIPS, NO NEW TAXES" speech. Governance is not a bed of roses 1 Like 1 Share |

tbaba1234:This explains it all. OBJ was pressured and taken to court by governors to share this money, Yaradua was also pressured to release this money. But the first thing GEJ did was to dip his hands into the funds illegally and at that point, he lost the moral right to prevent the governors from accessing the funds, so he shared the yams; GEJ never had any political will to save. I pity Buhari, cos he takes all the heat today for indiscretions of yesterday. Madam Okonjo has just vindicated herself by saying a simple truth which every discerning mind knows. But wailers would be too pained to acknowledge this simple fact. GEJ's inability to assert authority, his economic cluelessness, his nonchalant attitude to graft and his bizarre proliferation of yam sharing ideologies is the reason why Nigeria couldn't save a dime under his reign. A man who unanimously depleted what he met even though he enjoyed the greatest revenue. NOI messed up herself and her reputation for accepting to work under such an administration. Now no matter how hard she tries to wipe the dirt, the stench still stays with her. I kept asking, is it not this same NOI who saved greatly and did wonders under OBJ, how come she performed in the absolute opposite direction under GEJ?... The answer to this lies in the type of boss she had. 6 Likes |

9jatatafo: If NOI did not touched it, fought to block leakages at NNPC, tackled wastage, she would have kept the ECA funds safe. Lying about the Finance Commissioners backing her, without knowing they did not even have such power was smoking gun that nailed their case. She was to save it and not tamper with it. She caused the Governors to lose the will. If she did not touch it, they will not look that way. 4 Likes |
