Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Emanus: 7:23am On Apr 15, 2016 |
themall:pls go to conventional University, I think you will be more comfortable with your programme. NOUN is extremely expensive and unorganized , prepare to spend more than 250k with cheap output, no tutor with modules of grammatical mistakes and errors, online issues with results, I regreted doing PGDE here. My advice! 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Imoksp: Noun is not being fair to some students (msc ICT) that have this missing result issue at all how can one graduate since january and till this moment 4 courses haven't been released even with the so called update the other day that was announced it wasn't still released, what will one do for Godsake? no explanation what so ever from the SC , i am seriously regretting doing this programme with Noun for crying out loud some of us sponsored ourselves through where is the money to start re-registering for the said courses again and to start sitting for exams? This result issue calls for serious attention and i hope its looked into and resolved as it doesn't speak well of the institution at all. the following courses haven't still been released. CIT 802 technical report writing CIT899 research project CIT 854 Network design and programming CIT844 Advanced database management system we are in mid april meanwhile results were released in January how frustrating can this possibly be? i have gone to my SC in Abuja without making any headway. This is sad indeed. |

Emanus:I am not here to defend the school but i dont know what u mean by "extremely expensive" can you give us the break down of your said amount because i spent around 150k for my MSC. About the missing result it happens even in conventional schools but may be minimal. Honestly NOUN need to do somethng about missing results, the school should employ more hands or reduce the number of intake in ordet to be efficient |
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Nobody: 5:06pm On Apr 15, 2016 |
nogames: It doesn't happen in conventional universities lately most especially for postgraduate students it doesn't happen at all...This NOUN issue of missing results is so frustrating as there is no one to attend to you until you go to Lagos. So a candidate from Jalingo will travel by bus of more than 13hrs to Lagos because of missing results?. We can't continue like this. My results are still missing after repeating the exams for 3 semester's. Now am expected to write the same exams for the fourth time. Tell me which conventional university will that ever happen?? Pls tell me?? The worst is u can't talk to anybody to listen to you. 1 Like |

ejibaba:You are absolutely right my dear.it doesn't happen in conventional universities.even while i was in d polytechnic, tru out my years there i neva had a missing result.but here i am, having 3missing results. I hav written series of letters to no avail.d system here sulks. |
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Nobody: 5:42pm On Apr 15, 2016 |
Am not here to defend National Open University but this issue of missing result is caused by partly the students..Your matric number is not illegible and you expect to see your result. You didn't sign on the attendance sheet and you expect to see your result? let's be logically, don't pin all the blame on the institution , you have yourself to blame too. 1 Like 1 Share |

TastyTuoyo: What kind of comment is this sef? Are u the person that wrote the results that have been released? Mistake on the same examinations for 3 consecutive semesters, while others will be released. Pls, try defending them in a better way. NOUN is just playing with people's future let them continue. The work load should be decentralised every study centre should be allowed to collate their students result and forward same to head office for upload. Thereby issues of missing results can be sorted out at the centres, as the students can check for their scripts as it is done in conventional universities. 1 Like |

ejibaba:Dont mind tasty Tuoyo. I wrote a particular missing result 3times after writin a letter of missing results to the head office in vi tru my sc.yet nothin was done. Is he tryin to say i made d same mistake consecutively in dat particular exam and y not d other papers.y release sum and withhold sum results.i am just waitin 4d exams to end, then i wil b a regular visitor at their exams and assessement office in VI.to request 4my statement of results. |

mrnononsense:I guess you are not the actual student of noun Sir. I also guess Sir that you are financing someone in noun. Your questions indicate that. Students have access to their result and they can calculate their gp their selves. Fee for a section depends on number of courses one takes, returning or new students. Exam fee for e-exam is 1k per course. Course registration is 2k for 2 units course and 2.5k for 3 units. Meanwhile we pay compulsory fee every semester which is 23k and 13k for first semester and second semester respectively. |
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Emanus: 7:18pm On Apr 15, 2016 |
nogames:Well, I have over 174,000 naira for PGDE now. I was forced to pay additional 10,000 when am in second semester of my programme. This inflated my fees from 13k to 23k. Teaching practice is 10k and project for PGDE is 25k, mo one pay all these fees in conventional University, I had my B. Tech in Technology school and PGDE in Noun, I can quote lots of differences. Is frustrating in open University which are run by administrator without distance learning certificate. I guess you need to see UNISA and values open University system for education. The problem is what you have also highlighted. Hardly you have missing results in university system. Except fail absent which you can easily sought after. NOUN staff are bias and don't have any further assistance once you are in there shoe! 1 Like 3 Shares |

TastyTuoyo:I guess is unwise idea to conclude that student will not sign attendance? Where the invigilators are there checking for packing to be sure that all student signe. In my study centre, the counselor even calls people to get their attendance signed. This is not true. I beg NOUN is full of flaws! I pity the young ones studying here without adequate knowledge of there course. If you are one that couldn't make Jamb or clear o levels. Please you can still get it done and learn other a tutelage of Prof and Dr with great interest in your future to compete with sound mind with OAU, ABU Zaria, UNN, Fut Yola etc in the small job vacancies. |

Imoksp:I guess the guy is working with Civil Defense or unpatriotic organization that covers up there mess with NOUN certificate. Go and prepared for discrimination and subjection to ascertain whether you are the type that change exam photo slip to write or you supervise your self under the covering of some unscrupulous elements working with NOUN. They show nepotism to people that doesn't give them penny. I have 3 missing results and you can't tell me that I forget to write my matric number or sign attendance sheets. I have been writing for exam for long. Any body that forget to write his or her name is an indication that the person is under durex conditions ( cheating) I guess is just a way to get people's money in NOUN. Think about it 1 Like |

Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by truthhonest100: 9:46pm On Apr 15, 2016 |
TastyTuoyo: how can u even say this? you mean virtually over 85% of the students in my set didn't fill the attendance correctly and we all didn't write our matric numbers correctly all in the same courses (3) in all? what will you also say for the project i submitted since Nov 3rd that was graded and i got an A and till now haven't been released too even though i was among the first 5 to submit before others. its really a pity that noun with all its popularity can act so irresponsibly and nobody is even trying to help or offer any explanations concerning this results, the school is a far cry from what it should be or stand for, is it until students match to brekete that the right thing will be done? why is it that majority of our institutions dont always do the right thing until you go public and when they see the negative publicity its gonna bring they now sit up. i just hope for there own sake they are working on this results yet to be released because i know a student that have taken it up legally and just arranging with his lawyers to sue the school and make them pay dearly for all this nonsense, i just hope people wont lose there jobs in the process , the lawyer in question is well known and i know the media will really feed on this piece. Good luck Noun |

truthhonest100....I just wish there is a way we can jointly fight this monster. We cannot continue like this. The number of outstanding candidates is just growing lately and with this new policy that you can't drop a course again to re-register, you have to pay exam fee again if you want to re-write an exam that is not released. |
