PETERiCHY: http://www.cnbc.com/2016/04/16/iran-will-not-attend-doha-oil-freeze-talks-on-sunday-sources.html Iran will not attend a meeting between OPEC and non-OPEC member countries about freezing oil output levels scheduled for Doha, Qatar, on Sunday, two sources familiar with the situation told Reuters. Tehran's oil minister had not been scheduled to attend, but the OPEC member country was due to send a representative. Iran has said it would not join a freeze agreement as it seeks to raise its oil output and market share to pre-sanctions levels. STOCKMARGEDDON loading...........$15 per barrel here we come. lancee:2016 Q1 will have an improvement over 2015 Q1 and Q2 come July will still surpass 2015 Q2. I believe this is why FBNH is delaying their result to release 2015 full year result (not too good result) alongside 2016 Q1 (improved result) with atmost few days gap. As for N2 come June/July, I doubt due to good Q1 and Q2 results expected by FBNH new management team. FBNH is currently harnessing every means of making profit even to the extent of charging savings accounts used in business transactions instead of using the normal current accounts of which I believe most of us were charged; making all their subsidiaries patronize each other to make sure business does not leave the holdco, to mention but few. I believe the new management is on track to making First first above others or meeting up with the banking sector leaders. Let us remember that Operational expenses has been the issue with FBNH and I beleive the new management will not leave that unaddressed. This is just MY view. 1 Like |

PETERiCHY: http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKCN0XE02Y A spike in tensions between arch-rivals Saudi Arabia and Iran appeared on Sunday to ruin prospects of the first binding oil output deal in 15 years between OPEC and non-OPEC nations, and looked set to prompt another fall in the price of crude. Some 18 OPEC and non-OPEC oil producers, including Russia, had been meant to meet in the Qatari capital of Doha on Sunday morning and quickly rubber-stamp a deal to freeze output at January levels until October 2016. But the meeting was postponed after OPEC's de facto leader Saudi Arabia told participants it wanted all OPEC members to take part in the freeze, according to OPEC sources. Riyadh had earlier insisted on excluding Iran from the talks because Tehran had refused to freeze production, seeking to regain market share after the lifting of Western sanctions against it in January. Intendy: I doubt if cbn will raise interest rate. While I'm conversant with the comment made by the CBN governor about raising interest rate, I doubt if they'll eventually toil that line of action again. Because, this is against the principle and strategies for creating an industrial economy. When you raise interest rates, you automatically increase cost of debt and overall cost of operations. That will compound our situation, and bring us back to old age. I think cbn will find other means of taming inflation and liquidity. |
