Just to clear things up. If can graduated with a 2:2 you can still do a Masters Degree. If you intend to go to College in Canada fine. But, dont do a PGD in College hoping to later do a Masters Degree in a university. They will still evaluate you based your undergrad degree.

Conditional offer means the school has accepted you but you still need to fulfill some certain conditions in other to get the unconditional offer.

Sure they will evaluate you using your undergrad degree. But if u have some work experience from naija added to your pgd certificate, you can get a Masters. Infact i got a Masters admission this winter even though I first came in for a post graduate certificate course and minimum requirement was 2:1, but my bsc was 2:2

I know it's God's favour. But I also submitted my first semester post graduate certificate transcript which was all As, and got admitted. Currently doing my masters now.

So don't discourage anyone. If u can come in with post graduate certificate then do, but make sure u do very well so that ur grades, along with your Bachelor's degree can upgrade ur chances of getting a masters admission.

Kindly list the schools in Canada that accept guys with 2.2. I wrote to lots of schools and they were clear with their replies - "No you do not qualify "

Thanks.

Okay! I have a few questions. What PGD course did you take, what was your undergrad in, and program did you apply for Masters?

Funny my undergrad is in Law, my postgrad certificate in business intelligence (which I only did for one semester mind u) and Masters in Innovation Technology, but I have IT experience

So in a nutshell what I'm saying is that it's not always 1 + 1 = 2. Sometimes u gotta try and see how things can work to your advantage!

so I've been read somewhere that Schedule 1 form is compulsory but as per the CIC site, the only mandatory CIC forms necessary are what's listed below for our region. Your views, guys.

I assume the VFS consent form on http://www.vfsglobal.ca/Canada/Nigeria/how_to_apply.html is compulsory. Can anyone confirm this?

I will suggest you contact your department at U of M, they usually have first hand information. Your low CGPA might not be a factor if it's self sponsored, the VO might just raise eyebrow on it, once you have a good SOA, and school accept you through admission letter, you as good as Canadian Student. Aloha
Thanks very much bro

No, I don't think the Schedule 1 form is compulsory. It is only mandatory if you answer yes to some questions regarding staying in any other country apart from your country of residence and country of citizenship, for more than 6 months. I remember seeing this a while ago.

princey83 I appreciate your response. I am eligible to apply for the Danish green card after my current residence permit expires but believe me Denmark is not a country you want to live in even if you are given a PR on a platter of gold. Educated Asians who make up majority of foreigners here are leaving the country feeling greatly disappointed. The green card is not a permanent residence card as the name suggests, rather it is a 2 year residence permit whose condition for renewal is almost impossible given the many frustrating challenges here. If you know anyone who is planning to come here on the scheme, please do them good by informing them that the only job available here is in cleaning. Sadly, the jobs are extremely few and is characterized by unchecked exploitation by Danish companies. I am yet to find an African (Mostly Cameroonians and Congolese here) who isn't in the cleaning job.

There's an article here which tells it as it is. http://cphpost.dk/news/32603.html

I want to move to Canada or the US because even though I may have to do cleaning job at least there is hope that I can find something more honorable in the future.

Regarding APEGA assessment, I dont have Canadian work permit yet so please how will it benefit me? Is the certification recognised only in Alberta? Do you mean that since it is a regulated profession in Alberta I will need the certification to complete express entry application?

Thanks again.

princey83:

have you tried applying for the Denmark green card? Reason being that the oil industry in Canada is bleeding at the moment and near collapse except a miracle happens, and the oil price goes up which I pray should. You would need to also convert your Geo certificate to Canadian standard through APEGGA.

If you are yet to hear from them regarding admission decision, then it is 90% that you are not recommended for admission. They actually stated that non selected applicants won't be contacted due to the plethora size of applicants. However, am not shattering your hope, just trying to brace you up!

So long!
