Any positive or negative experiences with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)+ Traction Control (TRAC) on the 2004 to 2006 Sienna in Nigeria

Toyota AWD on the Sienna is part-time, only works when it senses loss of traction at the rear.

Van is really heavy, with careful driving on the FWD one can still manage without and avoid unnecessary expense and complexity.

Without all of these issues one can get a sienna for around $2,000 to $2,500, with this long shopping list, we are looking at $5,000 and more per vehicle, great deal for a $35,000 vehicle when brand new

You are right, was misdirected by a comment on a forum I cannot remember while trying to understand one or two things about Toyota Sienna's.

The true position is this:

Full-Time 4WD/AWD All Wheel Drive (Sienna and Highlander gas System)

This systems sends variable power to both axles. It incorporates the front differential, center differential and transfer case into one compact unit. Rear differential is located at rear axle.

Operation

AWD system relies on a specialized Eletronic Control Unit (ECU) to control wheel spin by applying the brakes to that wheel therefore directing power to other wheels with traction.

Benefits
This is a light duty system that allows a vehicle exceptional traction at all times while utilizing all the features of VSC and TRAC.

Whether you accept it or not, the 2nd generation Sienna will outclass the 1st generation in all department of comparison; performance, ruggedity, luxury, resale value, customer preference in transportation etc. The 2nd generation has a better suspension & better turning radius.

They're not too difficult to find. Locate a sienna CE. That's an 8 seater.

You can get very good 8 seater sienna at cotonu. Its not scarce.

Just an advice from experience, in transport business, you have to maximize profit and reduce cost reasonable. As you grow bigger in transport business, you can add the XLE trim if you so desire, as the an executive fleet with extra charge for customers to pay depending on route and packaging.

Since you are just starting, just buy the LE trim with 8 seater. If you can find one with roof-top DVD, better. But if not, you can buy it and fix it.

What should concern you most now is getting the right personnel like good drivers, managers and mechanic, having a good structure in place and try to strategize on how to grow and meet financial targets weekly or monthly. You need to do a lot of thinking, strategizing and packaging. Please, don't dwell too much on the vehicle cosmetics.

Speaking from transport business angle, both are good. With good driver and maintenance culture, he can still make money with the two. It depends on packaging. He can decide to have a mix of both and placed on different routes. Less effizy and shorter routes could use the 1st generation sienna while the more effizy and longer routes could get the 2nd generation sienna.

Drivers will always want a beautiful vehicle but never really care much on how the investors will recoup. 2nd generation siennas are excellent. Since that's what its preferred, its cool.
