damn these rent prices here, and my bloody cousin keep telling me house rent is not that expensive in Benin city, i have 6 flats 3 bedroom each with fence and bore-hole for drinking water in Benin city and the tenants pay 96,000 per year according to my cousin undecided

Uh oh! grin

Actually if I were you I would make an unannounced visit to my properties to ascertain just how much I've been scammed and for how long by my bloody cousin.

I would rather ask, what percentage of your annual income forms your annual rent?

Some people here will probably be paying almost 30% of their income for rent and be forming bigzz...

Less than 4% of my annual gross pay went to rent

Omo mehn, I really envy you guys in other states. Here in Lagos, Landlords are hell bent on sending people back to the village.

I'm just planning to rent a house and I made an enquiry for a room and parlour self con @ Surulere (cos of d proximity to d Island). I was told 600k!

Around Yaba, I got d same type of house for 500k. Money wey go buy land and build d house reach somewhere for some parts in Nigeria. Chai!

It is well
bariga and gbagada is close to island, especially bariga, you will see a flat of 350/450k or even a room and parlour self con is 250k.
From bariga you can go to island, from bariga you can also go to ikeja or other places. Very close to island and mainland. Bariga is at the centre of lagos. There re good places one can live in bariga though. But house rent in gbagada maybe bit expensive but you can check akoka, the one close to bariga, is a nice place to be. Try and make enquiries so that you can check it out.

Mine is 750 dollars monthly 3 bedrooms all ensuite and a large sitting room with 2 balconys and nice setrings. I never are bills oo. Honestly competition, the wife you marry, the kind of friends you keep abroad and comfort has made most of us spend fortunes here while most of us dont even have bicycle back home. Now that cash is not flowing worldwide like before our eyes don open but naija news is not helping matters at the moment. I invested in transport bussiness 2 years ago as i am talking to you i have sold almost all the vehicles cuz of bad management. Still, theres no place like home

Etinosajay:

Now that you know rent is cheaper here in Nigeria, when are you coming back from that abroad?

There are many cheap houses for you here.

angry as if na house u kon rent for this life

That's a bit too much to dole out for a self contain on PTI road considering that area is prone to 'UVWIE PEOPLE WAHALA' all the time.

for me, its 300K for a STANDARD 3 bedroom apartment somewhere in Nigercat.

I just paid 170,000 for a bedroom flat(palour, room, kitchen and bath) in Eket, Akwa Ibom, how much are you guys currently paying and what's your location?

Chai... cry cry cry it's been a long time since I heard of such humane and pocket-friendly rates as house rent. I live in one of the satellite areas and I pay over 550k for two bedroom flat yearly. erratic electricity. In other words, light is extremely erratic there. I wish to move to other areas in Abuja where I may be assured of a decent power supply. But my pocket is really shy of those places.
Oh Lord, observe me this year and bless my hustle. Amen.
