GrandCommander:

Pls guys is it true that ubc only takes people with a 4.0 CGPA and above at their undergrad study for masters

There is nothing like that. A 2:1 is the basic requirement as per cgpa. If you haven't gotten a mail, it might just be that they haven't found the right supervisor for you or something. Send a mail to Jay Alan, the graduate advisor.

I think UBC specifically stated a CGPA of 4.0/5.0

Am in a similar situation now and really confused.
My department has reviewed my application and found me academically eligible but cannot admit me yet until a supervisor signs my form.
I have secured a supervisor but he refused to sign until he gets his grant decision this April.
I want the funding too but the wait for his decision is almost killing me.
He asked me if i require funding which i said yes, but told him i will still work with him if his funding does not come. But he has not replied me yet.

Pls anyone in M.Sc Env. Sci MUN or has anyone applied there for fall and has gotten adission letter?
For those there, do i really require supervisor funding diff from the department own since its a research based course?
Should i keep on waiting till whenever he get his funding?
Pls i need ur response quickly
Onyeoma3:

An admission process that takes approx 1 month with a supervisor might take up to 3 months without a supervisor and the applicant might still end up being denied admission. That was my case in 2013 but one thing paid me off,PERSISTENCE...i kept in touch with my supervisor from that 2013 for 2 years and eventually ended up with him 2 years after, in 2015.

I'll advise you to spread your tentacles to other schools not just one or two, that way your chances of getting a positive response are increased. A few guys contacted me then when I mentioned about the opportunities though it's not automatic. I'll keep my ears open though incase if something comes up.

Wishing you all the best in your pursuit, it's not an easy one but worth it at the end.

so I've been read somewhere that Schedule 1 form is compulsory but as per the CIC site, the only mandatory CIC forms necessary are what's listed below for our region. Your views, guys.

cc: skymorbabs, bamjay, metrecube, Graviton2, justwise

I assume the VFS consent form on http://www.vfsglobal.ca/Canada/Nigeria/how_to_apply.html is compulsory. Can anyone confirm this?

Regards

Schedule 1 isn't compulsory.

That said, I'd strongly suggest you fill it and attach it with your application all the same.

I filled it during my application. smiley

princey83 I appreciate your response. I am eligible to apply for the Danish green card after my current residence permit expires but believe me Denmark is not a country you want to live in even if you are given a PR on a platter of gold. Educated Asians who make up majority of foreigners here are leaving the country feeling greatly disappointed. The green card is not a permanent residence card as the name suggests, rather it is a 2 year residence permit whose condition for renewal is almost impossible given the many frustrating challenges here. If you know anyone who is planning to come here on the scheme, please do them good by informing them that the only job available here is in cleaning. Sadly, the jobs are extremely few and is characterized by unchecked exploitation by Danish companies. I am yet to find an African (Mostly Cameroonians and Congolese here) who isn't in the cleaning job.

There's an article here which tells it as it is. http://cphpost.dk/news/32603.html

I want to move to Canada or the US because even though I may have to do cleaning job at least there is hope that I can find something more honorable in the future.

Regarding APEGA assessment, I dont have Canadian work permit yet so please how will it benefit me? Is the certification recognised only in Alberta? Do you mean that since it is a regulated profession in Alberta I will need the certification to complete express entry application?

Thanks again.

wow. what an exposure. I almost applied for the Danish green card some years ago when I completed my masters in the UK.
Canada is not that bad at all then, since English is the language of communication here, and immigrants still get good jobs.
no. you don't need APEGGA to complete your express entry application. you only need it to practice in the province of Alberta. Just giving you an heads up. With your MSC qualification and with good ielts score, express entry should be a walk in the park for you.

So if basically you have tuition and maintenance costs to be 10k per year (20k for two years assuming a 2 year course)

Your total funds available should exceed the 20k by some odd thousand say 21.5k, and there should be some money left in the account assuming you're not self-sponsored.

Yes Yemi, police character is very much compulsory. As a matter of fact, report from any country you have ever lived for up to six months. Canada is trying to ensure sanity in their country as much as possible.

I've not done online application before. Sorry I can't be specific on your second question but I want to believe that you'll upload it as well.

I did and last week I received "sorry...... Wish you best" reply from U of T and Manitoba. Guess team 2017 activating. Am a better person with improved knowledge in the process now than before. Thank God for that.

Relax or mail the department. You sure get a positive reply by God's grace.
