I do not know where to create this topic but I feel that the romance section would be a better place to share this little issue. Pls pardon me if I posted this in the wrong place. I would like the Mods to help me out in this scenario. This has been bothering me for a while now but I have decided to summon courage & post this issue here on nairaland knowing that there are well-meaning people on this forum. It may seem like a little problem to you guys but to me, this is a serious stuff.
Ok, here is the issue:
There is this mannerisms I have come to observe in some people especially the female folk. There are some ladies that I have known for quite a long time in my life. (Actually, they are from different backgrounds). Our families have been friends with each other even since we were kids so that kind of makes us like an extended family-relation.
Fast-forward to this present year, things have changed, we now have our different respective lives we are living on. But the problem now is that I have noticed that each time I want to greet them, (those female folks I told you guys about) they will ignore me or pretend as if they can't hear me even when I tried to call to their attention. Unless I approached them & they now listened to me. Most guys I know hardly ever perform this kind of act before unless I wronged them (which I will know beforehand). So pls tell me. Does anyone have a clue of what is really going on here? I can't make any sense out of that manner. Have I wronged anybody? Am confused

Salutation isnt love... if they dont honour ur greetings, delete them from ur loyalty diary....

You didn't wrong them. Some ladies tend to take guys for granted if they are too available, they feel you're not financially buoyant, or they they are ashamed to be seen with you in public and other irrelevant reasons.

Just ignore them totally. Don't even act like they exist. Moreover, why are you bothered about their attitude?

I think you should stop greeting them..


The bible says it's shameful for one not to return a greeting..


So don't even bother yourself, raise your head up and walk tall...

Because this is the first time someone I know very well is doing that to me. But any way, thanks for your advice. I think I know what to do now.

who cares what people think about you? Phew.. stop leaving a life of "what will people think about me"


Whether you greet someone or not, their replies does not add anything to your life span.. the people you ought to be greeting are your elders! Anyone that's within your age group that looks at you and waits for you to be the first to greet him/her needs to be snobbed totally..

You are right, my friend. At times there are certain things we will be doing & we think we are right in our own eyes not knowing that we're really wrong. ****sighs****such is life
