This waiting period has been a trying time I must tell you.
Since I've not heard from 3 of the 4 schools I applied to, I decided to bombard them with mails.
It's like those people have mastered my mail so they refused to reply my mails.
Guess what?
I used my other email address to send the chemistry grad coordinator at ETSU a message inquiring about my application. While we exchange mails, he discovered that a wrong transcript and cover letter was forwarded to the department from the grad school.
I had a BSc in Ind chemistry with interest in MSc Analytical Chemistry but the transcript in my file showed B.pharm with interest in molecular biology.
I was sweating profusely.
So I decided to contact the graduate admin in charge of chemistry but she didn't reply my mail.
I took the courage and called her and she discovered that it was an error.
She then forwarded the correct file. I know the departmental decision has been made, according to grad coord; he said the graduate school would get bk to me shortly.
All these drama happened just 1-2 hrs ago.
Keeping my fingers crossed. I know God will favour me.

My advice to those in my shoes waiting for admission, don't hesitate to ask the grad coord your status; even if it involves calling.
Still trying to recover from the shock

Cutemorgan, thanks for standing by me

Lol.. Remember my prayer na .. Lol

Don't mind that Brokman, she's old and expired. She doesn't want to resign. Yes, most decisions has been made, but I don't think you should have an issue though. Just keep your fingers crossed.

Please I want to ask, for the visa interview do I have to take original GRE & TOEFL scores from ETS and original transcripts from my school to the interview?

What I have is a scanned copy of my scores & transcript evaluated by WES which I was thinking I would print out & take to the interview

Make sure after the decision, you personally email the grad coordinator that you want to be considered for GA position. If they don't offer you one, let me know. I can refer you to a department that can offer you tuition scholarship. First try the GA

Hello house.
I want to travel to the US but I have two issues:
1) I don't have accommodation.
2) I would need a job.

Can someone please give me realistic advice on how I can go about these issues. Thanks

Sealed envelopes
Bunch of keys
Bulky bags

Funny enough, they allow hand sanitizer.

That's all I can remember. I'd advice you to go there as light as possible. I even left my phone at home.

Hi guys,

I got this $5,000 housing scholarship towards an on-campus apartment. It brings down my rent from $11k to $6k for the year.

Shoould I accept it? Is it better than staying off campus? Meanwhile, the campus is in Baltimore. Do you guys think it's a good deal compared to an off campus housing rent in Baltimore?

Thank you.

I think you should accept it o. For safety if not for anything else.

I'm thinking though...if there's a huge difference in rent, it may be wiser to take the cheaper of the 2. However,I don't know the probable rent in Baltimore.

For the difference to be huge then you'd need to find off campus housing that is less than $400 per month. Just carefully weigh your options sha and remember hidden costs like renters insurance (I think) and utilities and tfare to school and furniture etc. If you do choose off campus, be very careful about the neighbourhood. Lots of horror stories about baltimore.

Congrats on your scholarship.

Sup guys....my school requires a bacteria meningitis vaccination proof. They provided options in some hospitals in USA.
Do I need to do it in nigeria? If so, must it be before the visa interview?
Or can I just do it when I arrive yankee?
