MrYagi:
Good Morning vo,
Please can a voluntary withdrawal of entry into Canada(Allowed to leave form signed)
in any way affect entry into the USA on a valid USA visa?

There is not enough information here to provide you adequate information, but if you were allowed to voluntarily withdraw your application after providing fraudulent information, this could negatively affect your U.S. visa application.

I would like to remind everyone that this thread is intended to answer questions about the immigrant visa process.
You should start by reviewing the information that has been provided throughout this thread and visiting the website here: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate.html

If you are interested in visiting the United States as a tourist, you need a non-immigrant visa and should visit the appropriate thread to ask your questions.

Hello VO,

A quick one; does one having a pending immigrant visa application reduce the chances of getting a student Visa?

thanks.

good evening vo,thanks for always answering people's enquiry, but just not to be confused is traditional marriage and introduction the same? because you've said you take traditional marriage as duly wedded. thanks. definition of introduction here in Nigeria is just the two family meeting formally. thanks once again

We've discussed this a few times throughout the thread - a pending immigrant does not prevent you from getting any kind of non-immigrant visa, but of course it can play a part in your interview. Each application is assessed based on its individual merits.

So I know there are a few different steps in the traditional marriage depending on which group you come from - generally, though, the exchange of the bride price is what is used to determine whether the full rites of traditional marriage have been completed (and would allow you to, technically, get a marriage certificate from a traditional court, as I understand it).

Unfortunately your credibility has been permanently damaged by the use of a visa agent. All you can do at this point is be honest; you will likely be asked about this previous refusal and the circumstances surrounding your "marriage" at that time.

Hello Sir,

Does that mean am not going to be granted the visa, I still have the refusal letter of 2009, But I was actually single when I applied.

Good evening sir,

i have applied for non immigrant visa 3 years ago and i applied as married by then but me and my girl friend is not legally married before she died in a car crash when my child is 2 years old and my spouse that petition for me to come to her now is the person that sent me a business invitation letter but by then me and her were just friends when she send the iv and she knows i have a child and a girl friend , but as soon as the mother of my daughter died. she was there for me and take good care of me by calling me all the time with different Godly and encouraging words. we both now start to love each other till date.

actually we have loved and know each other for 5 years now but we started dating each other 3 years ago and she have to petition for me because we truly love each other and the petition as being approved and i have gone through my medical and book my appointment and to be interview very soon.

sir, my question is, do i have to get a death certificate for the late mother of my daughter or not, due to i have not legally married to her before she died. and why i have not legally married to her is because of her parent did not want her to get married to another tribe except the same tribe with her.

this is the cause, and my fiance know every thing about this, and that is why she took my daughter as her own daughter till date.

please i need advise very urgent sir, should i get a death certificate or not.

thank you.

Good day LagosNIV,

Please, i need your help to verify this questions.

Is it the same thing/difference in the processing, when a US citizen apply for his brother/sister (one that is more than 18 years old and one that is less than 18 years old, "15 years old to be specific" ). knowing that it can take 10 years or more when processing for a sibling. So does age matter in the processing wait time (Avg. of 10 years)? or it depends on the age of your sibling on how long it takes?

Because people say its easier to apply for your sibling that is not more than 18 years.

I look forward to you reply...smiley smiley

Thanks

Hello Sir,
I'm presently residing in South Africa, and my fiance and I are working on my K1 visa application, so I just got my police clearance certificate from Nigeria parcelled to me , but on crosschecking everything,my name was spelt correctly, passport number correct, but there was a typo error on the passport issue date.actual passport issue date is 26 April, but 20th April was typed. Will there be an issue with respect to that at my interview? Can I get an affidavit at the police station here to support the errors? I await your usual response. Thanks

Hello LagosNIV,

Is it possible to fill a new DS 160 form after booking appointment for visa interview?
I found out that the date of arrival to the US on the DS 160 form used to book interview appointment was wrong.
What do you think can be done in this case?
I hope to hear from you soon

Making a mistake about your mother's birth date isn't enough to warrant you not getting a visa - you may not know or understand what the other reasons were, but I can assure you that the birth date wasn't the cause. The quickest way to a smooth process is to read the instructions carefully and fill out all of the requested information. When it is time for your interview, be honest.

Too many applicants fail to include the necessary paperwork and it causes delays in processing their applications.

These all depend on a number of factors, but the information is all publicly available. I recommend you go to the website and look up the priority dates that meet your circumstances: https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/visa-availability-and-priority-dates

It might make the process go smoother if you have a copy of the death certificate - especially since you had previously claimed to be married to her on a document that you submitted to the U.S. government. It will also assist in determining whether or not you are legally allowed to have your daughter immigrate with you (you should also bring the child's birth certificate).

For a sibling, it won't make a difference because the process is the same. The age difference that matters is for children of American citizens and the age where the cutoff occurs is 21

Yes, having an erroneous police certificate could be a problem. You should get them to correct this error.

Good day sir,
I applied for a job conference sometimes last year and i was denied. In the form I filled no relative in the US because my wife who is American citizen was in Nigeria with me as at the time I was processing the visa. I hope this won't implicate me in the nearest future when she will file for me to come over to US. (she is around now for her vacation) Is there anything we can do before she goes back?

Hello VO,
I have a question as regards cosponsor, my fiance filed for my K1, but in the last three years he only started working few month before the end of 2015 which was in November till date,as a result he got only a six month tax return, and a letter and proof of nonfiling for those years he didnt file.On the other hand he meets the annual income requirement just that he hasn't worked enough and was advised to also get a cosponsor which he did, the cosponsor also meets the income requirement.Do we still need a cosponsor after getting a proof of non filing for those years? Secondly will the CO look at just the previous year tax return alone or is it a mandatory three years tax return?

The only thing this implicates is that you are married to an American citizen... which makes you qualified for the immigrant visa.

Based on the information you've provided, you will need a cosponsor.
I recommend you read the forms carefully and provide the requested information; the Affidavit of Support asks that you provide three years of tax returns.

Hello people!

Thanks for the good job u doing here. Permit me to drop my inquiries here.

1. I have a B1/B2 visa bid to expire in June. I am currently in Nigeria and want to renew. Do i have to wait for its expiration before i renew. NB: i intend using dropbox method.

2. Again, my status has changed as i just got married. I have my marriage cert and change of name already. In filling my application do i have to indicate my new status and name especially as my passport is having my old status.

3. Lastly, i equally have a new passport, i guess i will be making use of the new passport number even though my profile is bearing the old passport number??

I await your responses.

Thank you.

A fiancé visa is only valid if you have met in person before the petition is filed. These are just the requirements of the visa, as a result, even if your fiancé comes to Nigeria next week you will be required to file a new petition.

I will go ahead and use this post to remind everyone that this is a forum for immigrant visa questions. If you have questions about other visa classes, I strongly recommend that you ask your questions there. It is also helpful to read the prior responses before asking your questions as many of these questions have already been discussed thoroughly.
