Finally, I summoned the courage to take final position in FBNH cheesy grin cheesy Something must happen between today and next week Friday. Same applies to Skye and Diamond.
Na monkey hunting remain now o. You don see person wey dey talk bad about him own pikin? grin grin grin

I believe the tier 1 banks will fare better in Q1 as seen in the not-too-bad results from GT,Zenith and UBA. By the time the market marries FY + Q1, FBNH fit grow my portfolio.
Audited Q3 results already gave a PAT of N50b, EPS of N1.40. Q4 impairment no fit wipe am out, abeg. tongue

I think they had already provided N46B as at Q3....

Like Manonamission said, their Q1 should be the redemption smiley

If the results are bad.....Price will fall; then you buy more. (I bought my first tranche of FCMB at 99k and the second tranche at 0.70k)

Cos if the result end up not being too bod, it goes on bid and you miss out!

So why not buy now? (actually bought mine at N3.03) and have been waiting to buy more as soon as a bad result is realeased....

Thank God I will only hold for a short time as the 1st qtr result should clear all..

Did my buying also...waiting to buy more if it is bad. The aim is to cash out when it goes up so buying more is just a way of reducing my average cost price. So whichever way it goes, am ready to play.

Just exploring a possibility that the market could have over-reacted to the negative news surrounding this bank. Someone once predicted the bank will sell for N2 but I want to believe the market has factored the bad result into its current price. Anyway, my eyes are wide opened.

First tranche @ N3.04, second @ N3.36/N3.37

What majority of investors are banking on is that CBN will not allow FBN to fail. However, they should not forget that it is not FBN guy that is now the CBN governor. Let us trade with caution. FBN will come out with a nice Q1 but of what use is this if they will still end the year with a loss. For now and at their current prices, I will prefer to go with FCMB. FBN is lagging behind in my investment parameters as compared with Zenith and GTB.

u neva can tell it might go d way of FCMB, after d profit warning from FCMB many taught d price will fall to 60k but when dey released Q4 audited result nd declared 10k dividend d price started moving up till 2day, it even closed on bid 2day .... with FBNH anything is possible.

Just occurred to me that FBNH Q3,15 result is not audited so it might not be a true reflection of what FY'15 result will look like.

"Following the preliminary review of FBN Holdings Plc (“FBNH” “FBN Holdings” or the “Group”) Management Accounts for the year ended 31 December 2015, it is expected that earnings will be materially below that of the prior year. The reduction in earnings is as a result of the recognition of impairment charges on some specific accounts resulting from a reassessment of the loan portfolio within our commercial banking business.”

“Our asset quality concerns have further been validated with today’s profit warning. The wording says earnings will be ‘materially lower’ than FY14 but we are unsure if this implies a loss or meagre earnings for the year. On our numbers, we currently forecast a 59-64% YoY decline in PBT and PAT for FY15 to NGN38bn and NGN30bn respectively, implying RoE of 5.7% down from 17% and 12% in FY14 and 9M15, respectively. Management’s CoR guidance post 9M15 results were 3.5%; we’re at 4%. Now, whether 2015 will be a proper kitchen sinking or just the beginning of a medium term asset quality clean-up is unclear but we will be receiving guidance from management post release of FY15 results which should be published late March.”

The bolded were copied from Nairametrics and should serve as a warning to all concerned. However, I took the risk judging by the market reaction to other banks that posted results in which earnings were materially below previous year. I assume Mr market was comfortable with their prices, hence the only way they could go was up. You might not need to exit before markdown and still enjoy capital appreciation.
FCMB
N0.24k (2015) vs N1.12 (2014)

ETI
N0.56k (2015) vs N2.81 (2014)

From the above which type of material are we talking about again?

http://oilprice.com/ oil price is just moving up and down. Oando always react with this movement. Price of Oando will still go down little before it pick again, because from the signs am seen oil price will Still go down. But OPEC meeting of June will come with positives outcome that will bring positive impact in oil price.

".....notably First Bank, where oil and gas debt makes up 47 per cent of the total loan book" there is fire on the mountain.. would rather wait for the audited result to be reported before jumping in (if at all).

Good morning house. Please I've got a little issue with Morgan Capital: needed a hundred thousand naira to attend to some engagements so I sent them an email to withdraw the said amount from my MC account.
They sent an email later saying the transfer had been done and my MC account was debited immediately but it's been a week now and I've not seen the money (had to get from a friend), sent them four mails about the 'transfer' that didn't happen but nobody is replying; all their lines are unreachable as well.
This is not exactly what a customer wants to go through when hard-earned money is involved.

Kind of worrying to see more and more complaints about Morgan services recently. I hope they are taking note and addressing the issues. It is at times difficult to cope with success and you could start declining.

Sorry for that, I feel your pain, it might be a mistake somewhere, try this number 014540114, I discussed with them yesterday with it, best of luck.
