sorry my update is coming late so my breast dried up on day 5 of weaning and I went to pick up my prince on day 6. Guess what? he did not recognise me and hubby! when I tried carrying him ehn he cries so hard and ran to my mum. I sha took him home by force o. in waking up the next morning he was just starring at me, when I touched him he hit my hands away. but he came around later that day. now........ he sleeps throughout the night and even earlier than before I weaned him my advice to mothers intending to wean their lo's soon, please do it gradually. the night sucking is usually the last to be stopped. you can touch the dial now #wink# 7 Likes |

stadora: While it is generally advised to avoid alchohol during breast feeding. You can still have it in moderation without it affecting your baby. Alcohol peaks in your system about 45 mins after drinking so its all about timing. For example if you have a glass of wine just after feedig baby, and you dont feed her until 2-3 hours later, no harm done. Therefore the odd glass of wine now and again wont kill you or him/ her. If i am going out and am likely to drink i make sure i have enough expressed milk on hand especially if i will have more than a glass of alcoholic drink. If my breasts are engorged due to not feeding my lo for a while and i am unsure about the alcohol in the system i "pump and dump" ( i.e. express abit of milk and throw away) to ease my boobs. If at all i have a drink at home, its the odd glass of wine and usually when lo has gone to bed...... by the time she wakes up 3-4 hrs later for her feed, its burnt out of my system. Remember the key words are MODERATION and TIMING. 5 Likes |

Re: NEW BORN BABIES! Are U A New Mum? Then Lets Discuss Babies Here!!!!! by modath(f): 5:51pm On Apr 22, 2016 |
sanrima: Is the vomitus triggered by the baby putting her hand in her mouth, feeding triggers it or its an involuntary action? If it's the baby, the mum has to be extra vigilant. If it's involuntary then IV or IM promethazine is important so the vomiting episodes can be suppressed, otherwise the antibiotics won't stay long enough in her system in order to be absorbed & achieve the desired objective.. 1 Like |

sanrima: Take her back to the hospital IMMEDIATELY ( cos she is rapidly losing a lot of water ) so they can give her drugs and fluids by injection and drip. 2 Likes 1 Share |

tatacherie:Sorry o! Allow it ripe and burst, afterwards you clean it with savlon/dettol solution and wash your hands. Then watch and see if it reoccurs in another site. If it does she may need an antibiotic. @sanrima, just follow d advice already given 1 Like |
