I was laughing as I read this and people around me were confused. You cannot understand, because they offered Royal Canadian Army Cadet form to my son and I said no, rather he should proceed to the university.

And the lowest ranked enlisted personnel receives around $1,400 every month.

I would prefer Airforce or Navy, atleast for the side benefits (e.g, i heard that as an Airforce officer one could be choose to be a pilot, and as a Naval officer one could train to be a sailor or work as a security operative escorting oil vessels).

You can be in the air force or the navy your entire career, that doesn't mean you will know how to fly a plane. It is hard to actually get that kind of training. Besides, most retired fighter pilots prefer to be a flight test pilot. Very risky thou

I'm not in the military, but I once met an Army recruiter, filed some application forms and sat for the ASVAB exam intending to join the Army Reserves. I later jettisoned the idea.

Still...he may have wanted to become a citizen of the US...and joining any branch of their armed forces entitles you to fast-tracked citizenship.(Faster than civilian immigrants).

(Joining the French Foreign Legion gets you citizenship after ten years of service...sigh).

He can be enlisted as a non-citizen. It's only the military academies/officer candidate school that is restricted to US citizens.

That is probably because he is yet to officially be given is insignia, they may have completed the course and the passing out parade and etc comes later. Do you think all non deployed personnel wear their rank all day

You cant be a cadet if you are not a citizen. Cadets are usually US citizens attending US military academies (Equivalent of Nigeria's NDA) or ROTC programs in US Universities to become officers. You cant be a cadet but you still have a path to be an officer thou. But you might have to enlist as a non commission officer first

Their salary is usually divided into two. You will get a direct deposit of about 300 bucks or there about. Depends on your year and the rest will go into your cadet expense account for your uniform, etc that is why they do not earn much.
