MikeCZA: Compared to Russians......... No. The Russians are better trained, better equipped, have much larger resources at their disposal, have seen by far more combat. Only British and American S.F are on the same scale. 2 Likes |

The italians and Germans are no match for the Russians... The Russians have shown time and again that they are a force to be reckoned with. Sans any of the glitz of prime time TV you see with american forces The Russians are very effective without making too much noise Henry240: |

Troops of 3 Battalion, of 22 Task Force Brigade have made an unprecedented catch with the arrest of 4 Boko Haram terrorists Ameers (kingpins) at Rann, headquarters of Kala Balge Local Government Area today, Friday 22nd April 2016. The arrested kingpins specialized on various aspects of criminality to sustain the Boko Haram terrorists group in their areas. The four terrorists were arrested following a tip off by well meaning members of the public. Subsequently, the troops conducted a cordon and search operation in the general area that led to the apprehension of the terrorist leaders, who contribute to the sustenance of the insurgency through their illegal trade specialization. The arrested kingpins include Umara Mai Gyaran Rediyo (Radio Technician), Umaru Mai Nama, (who specialize in cattle rustling and sales), Alifa Makinta (a specialist on stealing foodstuffs) and Balu Jugudum (in charge of stolen jewelleries). http://www.nationalhelm.net/2016/04/boko-haram-kingpins-busted-and-arrested.html

africaken254: Oga, that's not an achievement. Sky diving with a dog isn't rocket science. I fail to see what's so special about what the colombians do differently from us. I'll give them, their commandos have more resources to work with than ours, but that's it. 1 Like |

africaken254: Clandestine units are designed to operate behind enemy lines, this is basic knowledge. I'm saying there is nothing out-of-the-blue about parachuting with a dog. We use sniffer dogs in COIN. I'll scan through my archives and post photos of Nigerian dogs in COIN. |

Since we are talking food - SANDF "rat pack" (feild rations) Note that each meal has a day-number on it. This is because the meals are designed to help soldiers maintain a healthy and high calorie diet in the feild, so specific meals must be eaten on specific days. Although, they are not perfect... one of the favorit "war stories" my father likes to tell is how the only casualty his unit suffered while deployed "on the border" was an unlucky troepie who cracked one of his teeth on a particularly hard toffee. 3 Likes

Henry240:your taking issue lightly how important this dogs are and how much most armies including especially special ops are integrating them in their daily tactical operations.the only african army i have seen use dogs in their tactical operations is the camerron B.I.R ,the rest of us use them as guard dogs in military installations Sniffing Out Bombs: America's most elite dogs

lionel4power: Shows "interest in", doesn't equal "orders". I wonder how it is a casualty. A political criminalisation doesn't equal an arms theft scandal. Did you or your office allocate the money for the ATAK helicopter, and can you provide evidence that money for the T-129 ATAK helo was allocated and siphoned? The current COAS Buratai, was incharge of Army procurements at Army HQ for 4years under GEJ. Like i said previously don't taint the thread with spurious claims of fairy-tale allegations. Let the courts prove who is guilty or not. 3 Likes |

africaken254: Not exactly sky diving with dogs but from june 2013 KDF has been gradually intergrating combat dogs in the field. There is even a 4min video done by NTV called women in the military where the show the first ever canine regiment in kdf. the officer talks about how its costly/painful when they loose a dog in combat

What is it with you trying to belittle the Nigeria Army or any african army for that matter? The Nigeria army has been using war dogs in counterinsurgency for donkey years Both in raids on boko haram and ansaru sites in sokoto, zaria which netted HVTs. And even in the niger delta insurgencies Even the navy SBS has used war dogs in niger delta ops Oga henry has shown you pictures of an SBS war dog yet you are still arguing Nigeria armed forces has been on COIN mode for more than 10 years. S/leone, liberia, mali, darfur, bakassi, niger delta, Northeast and you are all of a sudden claiming that it doesn't use war dogs in COIN and the North East? This is inconceivable and utter bladderdash Under COAS ihejirika, the war dog section for boko haram existed as of 2012 In 2014 alone, i know COAS- minimmah deployed 20 war dogs against boko haram Nigerian Army Deploys 20 War Dogs To Fight Terrorism Read more: https://www.naij.com/341039-nigerian-army-deploys-20-war-dogs-to-fight-terrorism.html All these propaganda against the Nigerian army has to end someday Google is your friend, try and use it... africaken254: 1 Like |
