Please house, what is this uni-assit stuff that i am hearing? That a body called uni-assist must first verify ones first degree cert for Masters students?! Anyone to throw more light?

The verification isn't what you think. They will not be checking back with your different institutions to confirm the validity of your documents. That is between you and your God.

All they do is check all submitted document and evaluate the applicants in accordance to each school's requirements. When they are done with the evaluation and the applicant's supporting documents and grades are in line with the school's desires, they forward such candidates to the school to give a final look and grant admission or not.

Schools employ uni-assist to take away the workload associated with accepting and evaluating applications. This way they just take a look at the evaluation report and make a decision.

The best thing you can do for yourself is to make sure all your docs are in order (leaving nothing out) and are properly notarized (sealed and stamped), else you get to wait another 4weeks (not including the time to resend the document) for another evaluation round on your application.

Hope this helps...

My people, when they talk about Seal and Stamped notarization, am kinda confused. I notarized my docs at the High Court, all I could see is High Court Stamp and signature, the Seal aspect, I really can't see anything like that. Please I need more light on this. Thanks

Ohhh OK.Great.But did you submit your First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC)?
What is Germany grade point scale? Is it over 4 or 5?Because from their site,I am made to understand that applicants CGPA must be atleast 75% of their overall CGPA.

Most German skools accept a minimum 2.5 GPA scale..which is equivalent to Nigeira GPA of 3.0.

So long!

I submitted only WAEC and I don't think FSLC is necessary. As for the CGPA, Germany use a different scale of 1 to 6, where 1 is 'very good' and 6 is 'fail'. In my transcripts though, the average was in percentage, so there was no need to convert to the German scale. But you can use this link to convert yours: https://www.mspe.ei.tum.de/index.php?id=mspe_grade_converter

Can someone please help me with the meaning. It seems as though I have lost my English interpretation skills.

I asked if i would be issued a joint certificate or if the certificate will bear the name of the University where i will spend the first semester and this was the reply i got.

You will be matriculated and receive a certificate from ISARA-Lyon and the university where you spend your semester 1. The MSc certificate bears the name of the delivering institutions (Kassel, Fulda, Ghent, Cluj-napoca, ISARA) and each institution delivers its national MSc degree

Please note that this is a joint Erasmus degree program.

Please help, I chose USAMV, Cluj, Romania as Semester 1 and now i'm scared of receiving a Romanian degree

I dont think there is any country that gives a 2yr student visa from the onset. It is always renewed.

I may be wrong though

For bachelor, I'm not sure if the same conditions are applicable. But you can e-mail the university's international office for clarification.

OK. So, I have been a Quora.com member for about 2years. Few days ago, I stumbled upon this question in its archive (I believe it hasn't been that long it was asked)

It is about job prospects after your studies in Germany...this was specifically about masters, but then, whether M.Sc or B.Sc wouldn't really matter, would it?

Ehmm...The responses are quite revealing and somewhat disturbing. So, in the spirit of brotherhood, I enjoin all active members of this thread to read a few of the comments and make a contribution. I do hope we get some inputs from our seniors in Germany, in respect to the true state of things when it comes to working after studies.

Here is the link to the question and responses.

https://www.quora.com/Is-it-true-that-foreign-students-doing-an-M-S-in-Germany-dont-get-jobs-after-they-finish-their-studies

Note: This is in no way to discourage anybody. I just want us to align our thoughts with 'a possible reality'.

Schönen Sonntag!

Good write-up and below is an excerpt:
It would be OK if DAAD told you this right off the bat. Instead they spend millions on preaching about German education abroad. "Make it in Germany! "Germany Land of Ideas!" Stay for 18 months. Get a job. Stay on. It s not that simple is it? The Lügenpresse (lying Press) in an entirely different context.

The truth is that the current system is Crap. The system is deeply racist. If you are a Russian with German blood or you marry a German or have kids with a German you ll always be better than an Indian or African no matter how smart or how highly qualified. If Germany is honest it should tell this to students. Simple. Be German. "Come to Germany. Finish your studies. Go back to your country." That's what they should say. They don't. They know that most students will skip the "Land of Ideas" all together.

Instead they lie. And lie. And lie. And lie all the more. They promise you 18 months to find a job. There are too many regulations (read my other answers please) that are set up to discourage you. For example, your insurance doubles. You lose all privileges you have as a student example free tram rides. Imagine offering a person the chance to seek a job and tying her down with chains.

PLEASE DON T FALL FOR THE DAAD PROPOGANDA. Unless you want to go back to India or your Third World country after your studies and use your German degree to find a job that you could easily have found with an Indian/ "native" degree and one tenth the expense.
Let me get the high quality education at a cheap cost 1st.

They give the two year residence permit. Everyone I know and have met received the 2-year permit. Munich is one of the cities that gives two years straight. It may be different if one is in another city in Bavaria(e.g. Ebersberg or even Freising)

Thanks for sharing bro. Please I applied for LMU epidemiology, I need to know more about the program, how many students per session, how competitive it is to gain admission and possibly details about the entrance exam. Kindly help a brother. Thanks

I'm sorry I can't help with that. You can learn more about the program by visiting it's webpage or mailing a professor there. I'm in Geophysics here and know nothing about Epidemiology
