Good steps in a right direction. Many commentators before are biased because of their upbringing. If your parent teach you about hatred toward other tribe or religion, You are bond to be blind about virtuous of other. Militancy has long overdue, late umar musa yar adua of the blessed memory has serve them well. He created ministry to cater for their needs in the region, Scholarship, Salary for those that laid down their arms. In the agreement reached by then, was to crimininalise anybody that raise arms against the government or vandalised the pipeline. For the interest of the country, anybody caught in the name of militancy should be wipe out from that region. Let them pass their grievance to their ministry if they have any.

Their time is coming soonest.

I'm in total support of this. all those vandals destroying pipelines and causing both economic and social hardship to this country should be dealt with. I'm appalled that some people can even raise their voice against this directive. Is it not the reason there is epileptic power supply? And the same set of people will rush to blame Fashola as if he is the one responsible for the sabotage.

Some people's attempt at playing opposition is now sheer foolishness.
It amazes me how nigerians justify a evil act with another. Both fulani herdsmen and militancy are evil acts against the progress of the nation. But should be treated as such.

Nigerians are nigeria's problem

Why can't they apply simple psychological ways of dealing with crisis or problems. Deploying these people to Niger delta is like telling them to get ready for war and when this war start is only the innocent citizens that will suffer it most. Government learn to apply some principles in tackling some situations. God help us!!

Buhari promised to return fiscal federalism to Nigeria.

APC has return to fiscal federalism in its manifesto.

The militants are fighting for return of 'Fiscal federalism.

Instead of restoring fiscal federalism which Buhari promised, Buhari resorts to military force to retain a failed unitary government system.

Every new day, APC exposes its leaders as most dishonest people who came together for the purposes of grabbing power to share profitable positions among the leaders, not anything for the good of the masses and for Nigeria.

The army is incapable of protecting the entire stretch of pipelines and other facilities. They dont know all the apiam ways over there but the militants know them. Buhari govt is making a mistake. He should ask Obasanjo.

Give Nigerians people oriented governance like GEJ tried to do but to me failed in 2 points: not fighting corruption squarely and not killing BH and`Nigerian in NE.

Other than these, Buhari so far is far far below GEJ in people oriented governance.

FACTS. Na wetin i see i dey talk.

President Muhammadu Buhari has made good his threat to deal with those blowing up oil installations in the Niger Delta like Boko Haram terrorists are being dealt as he has dispatched the nation’s service chiefs to the oil-rich region to confront the resurgent militancy and secure the area from economic sabotage and other acts of criminality.
It would be recalled that Buhari had while in China, warned those behind unlawful activities in the region to either desist from any criminal acts and economic sabotage or be ready to be treated like terrorists operating in Nigeria’s North-east.

In line with a presidential directive, a team, led by the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, Gen. Gabriel Olanisakin, accompanied by the Chief of Naval Staff, CNS, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas yesterday stormed the headquarters of the Operation Pulo Shield in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Speaking on the inspection tour, Olonisakin pledged the resolve of the Nigerian Armed Forces to deal with pipeline vandals, oil thieves, kidnappers, cultists and sundry crimes in the Niger Delta region, even as the team identified 10 security threats in the region.

The CDS, who was conducted round by Commander of Operation Pulo Shield, Maj-Gen Alani Okunlola, explained that: “The visit followed the strategic directive of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammad Buhari, to deal with identified security threats in the Niger Delta,” adding that the visits was to access the challenges of the troops with a view to addressing them to ensure operational effectiveness in dealing with the threats.

According to him, “I am in Yenagoa on operational visit to Operation Pulo Shield as well as the Boat House vessel we have in Akassa.

“It is such that we can understand the challenges they are facing here and address these challenges to enhance their operational effectiveness and efficiency.”
