Hello all,

Please if you get the attached docs in the email I sent you, please let me know here on Nairaland, omotititi, said that (He or she) didn't get the first one I sent. Just want to make sure everyone gets it. And please omotititi, if you still didn't it, let me know so that I can keep trying to make sure you get it.

Just a quick comment, This poultry industry holds a great opportunity for everyone who is willing to put their shoulders to the wheel and push along. One of the things that I noticed in my research was that it cost me about N15,000 (Fifteen thousand Naira) to raise 25 day old chicks to 2.5kg within 7 weeks. I am thinking very very small scale project to teach people how they can do this, and they can turn around and sell the chicken for about N850/kg which will give them about N2,125 estimate par bird. Multiple that by 25 birds, that will give you N53,125. Some people work as a gas station attendant and makes about N15k/month that means N30k in 2 months. or a new graduate who will spend the next 2 years looking for work. These individuals could be trained on how to do this and they will be their own BOSS with enough time in the day to do other things they like and at the same time growing their poultry business. From 25 birds, they can increase their next set to 30, 40, 50 birds and the growth will continue.

The comfort here is that the Nigerian population will swallow any quantity you throw at them, so it doesn't matter how many people are involved in this industry, of course the game will then becomes marketing, products differentiation and packaging. I have never been this excited about any thing before.

Good luck guys.

Franklin Kalu

Why waste such great resources? Convert it to energy and generate Biogas for cooking, free electricity for your farm and Bio-fertiliser that you can sell to crop farmers.

Hello everyone, This is FNK, I have not visited this forum for some time now, been very busy with other projects that I am managing. (Not poultry) Those requesting for the docs that I sent out long time ago, sorry I didn't get to you on time. However, I just sent it to you, to all that I was able to copy their email addresses here. Who knows, some might bounce back, please anyone that gets it, should forward it to any other person here that might still need it.

Also guys, there are so much info here on this thread to help you become successful in this industry. Is it going to be challenging, yes, nothing good comes easy, but are you going to be successful yes, 83.3/4% guaranteed. (You have to be super dedicated though)

Someone asked the feed I used, (the good old TOP FEED)

I do not visit here often, so I am sure if you have questions, there are capable hands in the house to help out.

TO YOUR SUCCESS.

Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by Eggcelent(m): 6:52pm On Apr 27, 2016
Somebody02 & dam4wummy. Green droppings is likely signs of NCD rather than coccidiosis. NCD is a viral disease with potential for high mortality if it becomes virulent. I'll advise you give your birds antibiotics (preferably Neoceryl, Topceryl, Embaceryl or Ciprovet) for recommended number of days. Followed by multivitamins for 3 days before administering Lasota. Give multivitamins for 2 days after. As to birds shedding feathers, are they pullets? And how old are they? Success

Good morning, pls my friend's birds are having greenish stools, their combs later changed colour to white before they eventually die. pls i need help as 11 birds are already dead. Thanks.
Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by Eggcelent(m): 7:44pm On Apr 28, 2016
dam4wummy. The dropped feathers is a sign that the birds will soon come into lay. However, at 26 weeks, the birds are rather behind schedule. You may wish to increase the quantity feed you're giving them. powerstone. Your friend's birds have NCD. You may tell her/him to do as I advised in my above post. Success
