beebwai:Check the school website to be sure there will be a refund as some schools state certain conditions for a refund to be possible.... of which, there should be since you have enrolled and na them consul nor give you visa... |

splendidbabs: You know the answer already. Wrong course chosen. Find a course in line with your qualification or work experience. And write a damn good SOP explaining why the course and how you intend to use the knowledge on your return back to Nigeria. But I don't know; this one that you were first denied for inconsistency, only to reapply again taking corrections VERY SOON after. Might show that this guy just wants to check out any which ways. You might have a stronger case if you spend one more year in Nigeria making advances in your chosen career path before applying again for further studies in Canada. 3 Likes |

Hello house, I work in a school and the school won't agree to act as a sponsor. What is the implication if the sponsor I want to use is not even a person from my tribe ( my year head's husband)? |

tunaban:I have always heard good stories about first bank. Between Tomorrow and may 20 is still a long time. My friend got his in two weeks. When I tried at UBA, last week though. My payment was divided into two places. Officials stated that cbn won't allocate more than 10k USD. You may want to try another branch of the same bank. Perhaps another bank. I really don't have any help I can offer. Just suggestions. Just try again my friend... I met someone on this thread who had to and the second time was a testimony. |

Mizbaby: Usually, travel history, length of stay, and family ties are only used to garnish other reasons.....you hard would see any of these reasons stand alone. I mean u'll hardly see someone denied solely on any of these 3 reasons. While i believe we all know what insufficient fund is. It simply means the VO does not believe an Applicant has enough funds or does not believe the sponsorship claim is genuine. Purpose of visit basically has to do with an Applicant's program of study in Canada in relation to his academic or professional background. For instance, you studied biology in undergrad, and going for Msc in Economics. Also has to do with study gaps. Finally employment situation means chances of an Applicant getting job in his country of residence is slim, hence his reason for traveling abroad. None of these reasons have anything to do about having someone in Canada. I also avoid disclosing information about my family members and friends in the country i'm applying to for visas, because of the fear that the VO might think i'm gonna abscond. And i also wont advise anyone to claim ties with ppl abroad while applying for visa, but if the person(s) is your immediate family....like your siblings or parents, you just MUST DECLARE them, else you will be lying and it sure will come back and hurt you later. I stand to be corrected anyway..... 5 Likes |

beebwai: Don't have the experience but I have read through their refund policy few weeks back. According to the school's policy, you would get full refund or maybe less $100 not too sure though if visa is denied. |

stephike1: You stand a chance, but you need to passionately explain yourself to the Visa Officer. I don't believe there's a general rule, and each application is treated differently. But it will be tough, if you dont explain convincingly what you've been doing since 2011, and how that prevented you from furthering your education, till this time......of all times, when the economic situation of Nigeria is "better" to say the least....... BTW, you didn't say what work you've been doing. |

rommyayo: What is your profile? What program are you going for? What is your current level of education and when did you finish? What have you been doing since you completed your last program? Your issues have more to do with your employment situation and relationship between what you studied and currently do, and what you intend to study here in Canada. As for insufficient fund, the VO probably don't believe your sponsor would indeed sponsor you. You might want to tell him to save some money in your name or transfer some money to your account to show more commitment. Your sponsor being in Canada does not in any way limit ur chances, because funds available for your study could either be in your country of residence or destination. Lastly on travel history, dont be too happy about Dubai, i honestly dont think it's regarded as travel history. It's not like you have a choice not to return to naija, or a visa stamp on ur passport. The good thing is that you dont need travel history to get Canada, countless ppl got it on a virgin passport. So i think you just need to tackle 1. Purpose of visit 2. Employment situation 3. Insufficient fund 3 Likes |

[BRO GETTING A VISA IS A BIG PROBLEM OOOOOO, expert or no expert, u can only try ur best!! rest is left with the VO to decide, u cant be too sure on getting the visa regardless of what or how perfect ur documents are. Here is my advice. as per the fact that u are hustler just like myself.. no sponsorer, no helper lol..... do not spend ur entire savings on paying the school all in the name of getting a visa! pls spend that hard earned savings responsibly. Thanks |

Mizbaby: Lol.... sorry ma, but the goal of Canadian education system is not to attract funds.....we're the ones coming to them and not the other way round. Besides they dont care where the money is coming from, they just want to be sure the money exist. If they want the mobey from outside, then they should also deny ppl on scholarship visa.....as some of these scholarships are funded with Government money..... |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by ayooluwatoni(m): 12:26am On Apr 26, 2016 |
Mizbaby: If he was denied based on insufficient funds, that probably will be because the funds are neither in the applicant's country of residence nor destination. And not because his sponsor was in the US. The SOJ's sister had similar issue, her sponsor was in the US, and she was refused. But then she applied again, in the 2nd app her sponsor already transfered money required for 1 year tuition and living expenses to Canada, and at that time the funds available to her was already in her country of destination (Canada). She jejeli chop her trv with smile and joy...... So i think we all need to understand some of these reasons to avoid avoidable mistakes. 2 Likes 1 Share |
