Get Lingard into a similar setting and he would do no worse. Lingard inspite of his smallish stature and little experience at the top flight was actually fantastic for the little time he had on loan at the championship before his injury and I tell you if he had a team built around him and with big responsibility shouldered on him like Young was at Aston Villa, he would contribute as much as Young. This was a player who looked our best player against Barca in the pre-season friendly.
That said, both are just decent players who should be squad player at best and with Young being a sick note, he should be the one out.

when barca was playing a 3-man midfield of toure xavi and iniesta, iniesta's position as the arrow-head of a midfield three is not different to the position herrera plays for manutd.
