Warm Greetings to the entire house, nice job we are doing here. I used to read this thread like 2 years back but really didn't understand and didn't have fund then buy now I think I can start with little sth. Please I have few questions. 1. I have been reading to know how and where to start buh I don't think such discussion have ensued here. If I am wrong, kindly refer me, I would be glad to read. 2. My dad bought 500 naira shares with FBN for me while I was still in primary school and I receive like 2000 naira dividend annually, so can I buy more shares into the old ones and how do I go about it. 3. The issue of having a stock broker is not really clear. Foe what purpose and how do I start. 4. Is it possible to invest from abroad. 5. Is there a better stock right now where I can invest because I really don't know much about all these. And any other information that would be helpful will be highly appreciated. Thanks and have a great day ahead. One love. 1 Like |

I am in agreement to this assertion below! Making provision for non-performing or bad loans in the banking industry is a way of shortchanging investors and it leads to mediocrity and inefficiency in the banking sector! 2 Likes

EDUECO: Thirded! Ok so when banks make provisions for non performing loans and for projected asset deterioration, the profits are impacted. What happens when the loans start performing and when the assets re-gain value? Will they make "REPAIRMENT PROFITS"? Anything less than that is a huge scam. 2 Likes |

megainvest: The provision is in line with regulatory and accounting standard (IFRS). The objective is not to short change investors or shareholders but to protect their investment from aggressive and reckless decisions defying corporate risk management framework of the Board and management. If the obligation on a loan is not fulfilled by way of borrower's default, it is expected, where there is no modification of loan terms and conditions, that full or partial write down of the loan should be done. Reporting such toxic asset will misrepresent information and the principle of true and fair view would be defeated. I think what banks need to do is to step up their risk management and the credit and risk committee of the board be strengthened. |

BMZK: Love this analysis Fbn with 2.9 trillion (17% of market share) in customers deposit as compared with GTBank 1.6trillion (9% of market share). See how GTBank is utilising and being efficient with theirs. People are buying FBN now because of the perceived low price, though money will be made in the short term. I can however bet that 5 years from now Zenith, GTBank, UBA and FCMB will offer better returns not to mention other better stocks out there. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by feelamong(m): 12:45pm On Apr 27, 2016 |
rebekah2011: People are betting on the fact that the new management of FBN would be far better than the past one! I loaded earlier at N3.03 and was waiting to load more at lower price....obviously its not gonna happen soon.. so na siddon look I dey now! |
