Thanks @kaboninc BUT i think a better alternative has been provided by the 'banker's confirmation of signature' and not stress myself unncessarily on CSCS/BROKER palaver.

You're welcome.

However, some Registrars insist you process the transfer forms for your signature even when a Banker's Confirmation is an alternative. The sight reasons as purchase made from the secondary market.

Hey!!

I was about responding to you before my system went off....and I forgot.

See, in the banking industry, based on previous experiences, there's a policy that each bank must maintain a "sinking fund" (not the AMCON type, but one maintained in their books). They are to make an allowance sort of for the uncertainty of bad debts occurring. This allowance is usually a percentage of profit or an asset (I really don't have the full details). So when a bad debt is written off, it is like using the allowance to cushion the effect on the returns.

Now, when the bad debt is recovered (or something is recovered) as they will try to put in some effort to realize something, that money is plough back into that allowance which can mean either of these two: reduce the entire exposure of the company to bad/doubtful debts and reduce the income tax payable by the company. At the end of the day, it translate to increased liquidity for the firm.

Truth is that, there will always be defaulters for a particular year. And within that year, there is most likely going to be a recovery. So the recovery should help to cushion the effect of the defaulters.

Nah... u missed it bro. Its pure accounting estimates. No "sinking fund technology" involved. grin

two things are involve in the issue of collapse, dead or still little life in it. First Bank is national pride, in terms of the list of top banks in the world, it stands tall among banks in the world, most especially Africa and Nigeria, believe me Nigeria will do all its possible best to revive the elephant, and I can see the dry bone coming back to life, thanks for your attention and understanding.

there are many reliable out there from
afrinvestor from afinvest, mytradebook from Greenwich, itrade from morgan, meritrade from meristem, investmentone, leadtrader from lead capital, etrade from capital bancorp, cashcraft have theirs
but do your findings via interaction with their CC to decide where you pitch your tent.

Since you place your trade by yourself on these online broker's platforms, do you also withdrew your money yourself or you need to contact them?

hi Manonamission, I will appreciate if advise me on this question: I have waited in vain for my broker to upload my transfer signature form through CSCS but after reading your post above, i discovered that banker's confirmation of signature is an alternative. Kindly confirm to me that my interpretation is Okay

Yes, you are right. The registrar will send back to your bank for confirmation though. Personally, I prefer this method. I do transfer forms only when process was initiated long before earnings season. If you have the time and can do a little run around, you could check with CSCS as someone advised too. They are quite responsive.

Loan and investment are different thing but can have a common relationship. You can convert the loan to an equity.

However, we need to establish if it was a loan to Seawolf or an investment in Seawolf.

But should AMCON wade it, then it is definitely a loan gone bad. If its a loan gone bad, my point is, since AMCON took over the loan, there must have been some consideration from AMCON to FBNH. But if full impairment was made........

Bros, I picked the info from the annual report actually while glancing through. To go back for verification is an uphill task for me. grin grin Over a 100 pages mehn!
But I am confirming here that FBNH made full impairment for investment in Seawolf (42% equity stake) lost on account of Seawolf going into administration. Not sure but I think I read something like N10B+ .

Meanwhile, still pleasantly surprised at the bid and closing price of FBNH today. I hope it's no fluke. cheesy

This is not a good one.
I loaded that stock today @ 0.88 thinking it has bottomed out and anticipating for an improved Q1 report.
Why is their cost of sales always on the increase?
Let's see what tomorrow will look like. The price is likely to go down further.

I can confirm some registrars will not take a BC in place of signature specimen even though you would think they should. E.g. Flour Mills registrars. I think a BC is really required when you have an irregular signature on your signature specimen form and E-dividend form otherwise it is not worth the cost. Some registrars like FBN registrars will still demand for it sha? No real logic to it in my opinion
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Nobody: 8:31am On Apr 28, 2016
Fcmb, oando and dangcem.... were the three stock, I suggested we hold for the till the end of next quarter. I have reduced my portfolio holding on fcmb. Even thogh the price will not go below N1.3 by end of next quarter, Do not buy above N1.7 ...

Dangcem and Oando are still good to go... I'll be including Skye bank @.90k only.. FBNH is about to take off don't miss the bus as well. (Be sure to get out @ 5).

Cheers
