There's something I've noticed among gamers these days. Most of them focus on nothing besides graphics, they're always going after the games with the best graphics while ignoring other aspects of gaming.

Graphics are not everything in gaming, in the early days of the Arcades and the Atari graphics were horrible but games played these games and enjoyed them. While it's true that graphics enhance the gaming experience they should not be the main focus.

A good game should have excellent gameplay and a fascinating storyline. If these two criteria are met graphics may not be an issue. Minecraft for example is one of the most played games in the world but it doesn't have much in terms of graphics.

I think gamers should enjoy video games for what they are and not because of sweet looking graphics which can get boring after a while.

it enhances enjoyment of the game. forget storyline,without good graphics,gaming will becone boring.

Forget graphics, if the story and gameplay are weak, the game has failed its purpose.
Yomieluv, go and look at The Order: 1886, one of the best looking games ever, but it failed in gameplay.

Think about Burnout: Paradise the most graphically superior game in the burnout series but also the worst.

Look at The God of War series it's widely accepted that the 1st two are the best in the series even if they have the worse graphics not counting the PSP games.

Or is it later Gears of War games or Halo or even Call of Duty?, all these games where graphical beauty were given priority over gameplay and story they rate lower than the previous games in their respective series with uglier looks.

Most hardcore gamers play for the gameplay. People cross over platforms to enjoy gameplay irrespective of graphics and storyline. But I prefer storyline. Graphics is just the topping

with games from naughty dog like uncharted and the last of us i have come to believe that a great game must have good story line and good graphics to compliement it some gameplay is also needed to balance the equaction if it is based on graphics alone the order 1886 is suppose to be one of the greatest games on ps4 right now its a flop despite having of the best graphics in ps4

Taste matters though... I play Naruto storm 3 on an old pc(looking to upgrade) and I have to tone down the graphics before I can play it... which ruins the experience...
Whereas I've seen people enjoy it at that lowest quality I'm frowning at...

Gameplay at times,but when I find it hard to either accumulate points or pass a particular level,I switch to easy fast fast!!!. I can't spend a lot of my time playing games(I have money to make, women to phucckk and places to visit!!!) I hate those psychos like the OP calling me a "Noob!!!"

I agree with the gears of war, the first 3 installment were superb and good gameplay, the fourth and the one exclusive for fhr Xbox one not so good

In this day and age, Graphics and storyline are the outmost important. If you played REMEMBER ME you will definitely want to finish it because of the great storyline. You will want to know how she became memory hunter, what memory were wiped out from her etc. But some games just have a cartoon-like graphics and the storyline and Gameplay is also interesting. Example is ORI AND THE BLIND FOREST. I rather not play a game at all, than reduce the graphics so it would work on my system.

Its always story line for me anyday anytime. checkout games like, far cry, darkside, soul eater...these games have the dopest graphics but storyline is wack. when i say story line you guys really need to play this game "STARCRAFT2: LEGACY OF THE VOID" best game i have ever played.

For me its graphics....can't forget cod black ops 2( the part u r raul Menéndez where u want to try save his sister) that part was crazy all coz of the graphics

Being someone who mostly plays the classics, Nintendo 64 and lower, but at the same time has played current generation games. I can tell you that we can all do without fancy graphics. It's a huge plus when it's here, but what's the point if everything else is dung?

Are you going to tell me Super Mario 64 isn't an amazing game cuz the graphics aren't spectacular? Mario Kart 64 isn't fun? Super Smash Bros?

How about Dreamfall: The Longest Journey on Xbox? Amazing story, it was like a movie, but the graphics weren't spectacular. Still a great game.

Halo 2 is still considered the best of the series. Despite having so many better graphic'ed successors.

And just to prove gameplay beats the others, Super Mario Bros anyone?

Graphics give that sense of realism,storyline is good but not very important when you consider the future of game which is online gaming(its more interesting say for e.g racing or battling with an online human opponent than a fascinating storyline to eliminate a villain).Game play is what makes a game realistic(its physics),object interaction and controls should come next after graphics.
However a good game will be the intersection region of graphics,gameplay and storyline.
