BEWARE! YOUR SMART PHONE MAY BE TEACHING YOU BAD ENGLISH
EXAMPLES : The following words are missing seriously from these smart phones/keyboards
1. Behind as” bind”
2. Vehicles = as “vicle “
3. Kehinde as “kinde”
4. Behold as “bold”
5. Apprehend as “append”
6. Household as ”housold”
7. Behave as “bave”
8. Behavior s “baviour”
9. Beheaded as “beaded”
10. Behalf as “balf”
11. Apprehensive as “apprensive” etc, etc (You can add yours as well)

Godammit! One of these stupid unintelligible rants again.
BTW, keyboard developers are responsible for providing the dictionary their keyboard use for suggestions or auto-correct. And stop fu*king generalising the problem to a whole operating system or a set of devices.
If your keyboard app is buggy, then get a new one on playstore. Tweak the settings to your liking and stay happy.
Kehinde is not English. And auto-correct or suggestions is not there to automatically improve your English, it only helps with preventing misspellings and to suggest the next possible word.
Do a fu*king research before posting this kind of things.
Sh*t! I just wasted 10 minutes of my life reading this crap, another 10 minutes typing this.
Now let me go and waste 60 more minutes at the petrol station.

BEWARE! YOUR SMART PHONE MAY BE TEACHING YOU BAD ENGLISH
You need to watch it because your child’s smart phone may be teaching him/her bad English and even you as an adult.
Have you noticed the problem of English spelling with some recently released Android smart phones? It is unfortunate that at a time parents are complaining and lamenting that abbreviation words in the social media (text messages, facebook, whatsapp, twitter etc) has made mess of the ability of our youth to read and write good English.

And now most smart phones key boards are not helping matters rather they are compounding the problem of writing good and correct spelling of some English words. I don’t know why the manufacturers of these phones decided to omit some compound words from the English vocabulary? I as one, am finding it unbearable to tolerate this.

EXAMPLES : The following words are missing seriously from these smart phones/keyboards
1. Behind as” bind”
2. Vehicles = as “vicle “
3. Kehinde as “kinde”
4. Behold as “bold”
5. Apprehend as “append”
6. Household as ”housold”
7. Behave as “bave”
8. Behavior s “baviour”
9. Beheaded as “beaded”
10. Behalf as “balf”
11. Apprehensive as “apprensive” etc, etc (You can add yours as well)

Check out these wrong spelling of words in all the social media write ups and broadcasts and you will be amazed.

The question should be, are these new ways of spelling English words? What went wrong and who is to be blamed for all these: the Phone manufacturers of the keyboard owners? What is the solution to this problem or don’t we see it as a big problem?

Not all words are in the android smart keyboard database. You are free to add any new word to the dictionary and when next you want to use that word it will appear that way. I use android 5.1.1 and I don't have any issues with my keyboard dictionary

Op I can completely relate to what you're saying.

Here's a screenshot of my phone's drop down menu, it's supposed to show "open behind" instead it's showing "open bind"

The problem started after I downloaded a new font style for my phone lol

Yes you are making a point here. Thanks. I also downloaded some set of fonts. Perhaps it's the font

PROBLEM SOLVED!

Thanks to all. Special thanks to "Hectorswag " your contribution was timely and extremely useful in solving the problem.

I have solved the problem simply by doing factory reset. It occurred to ME that I started having this issue after I downloaded a set of fonts.
Therefore the misspelling is not from the device nor the keyboard. We learn everyday and I have learnt a lot from this and from all of you. Thanks.

I am proud we still have good minded people here although there are some who usually use every given inch to rain abusive words on others. Some even go as far as insulting someone they never know from Adam.

Personally here to learn from Nairaland and other social media what I do not know. However, I thank God for those who believe they know everything and therefore are making mockery of other's plight.

SOLUTION

If you have the same issue as myself, perhaps resetting your device to factory reset will be okay.

Or better still go to settings, go to Display, see Font style, change to Default font. That's it. You will now be getting correct spellings.
Thanks again!
