ayeyemi91: Wo, i had the sme issue so had to use my head of department, my department has its own letter head. So if you can try that. Amother way is using your hr/admin head. it doesnt have to be your MD. You can even type the letter and get either of your ogas to sign. |

I just want to drop a piece of advice here. If u are a strong follower of this thread, especially those that are thinking of applying to canada to study and u still have the idea that u pay less for tuition in colleges than universities, then u need to think again. 1 Like |

Guys please I'm sorry for the question I'm about to ask, I know it has already been addressed, but I can't find the exact page. Please, as an undergraduate,I applied to brandon university manitoba, how many credit hours should I undertake in order to be taken as a full time student? Secondly my tuition fee is $6800, is the tuition fee for the 1st and 2nd term or for the first term alone? Thirdly, is it compulsory I stay in the school board in my 1st year?. Thanks in advance |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by sholay2011(m): 3:16pm On Apr 28, 2016 |
hyfr:Hello. While I am at UofM (not Brandon Uni), I will try my best in answering your questions. To be a full time student, you are expected to take at least 3 courses (each is 3 credit hours) which makes them 9 credit hours, except, you are doing research work. Not sure if that's how it works in your school. Your tuition fee of $6800 is probably for the first semester. It's about $5400 at UofM for each semester for international GRADUATE students. Many international students with good CGPA eventually get an entrance scholarship that reduces the fees by half, making them pay half of $5400 for each semester, and eventually paying about $5400 for a year. In your case, mail your school's undergraduate studies office or a lecturer in your intended department to clarify from the horse's mouth. By your last question, do you mean is it compulsory you live on campus in your first year? The answer is no. Most of these your questions should be directed to the international students office or an enquiry office or so in your school. Visit your school website and get that email and shoot them a message. It's just safer than to rely on NL in my opinion. Even if I attended Brandon Uni, rules might have changed. Cheers. |

sholay2011: Hi, just wanna ask, i just gained admission to u of m with the igses funding, will i need to pay this reduced tuition before resumption or registration in September or can the fees be paid wen i resume and are fees paid per term or all at once tanks |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by sholay2011(m): 4:37pm On Apr 28, 2016 |
rheginarh:Congratulations. You can pay the fees when you resume, after the IGSES funding has been applied to your tuition and you know exactly how much you will have to pay. Just ensure you pay before the deadline. Deadline is usually mid September I think. Advisably, when you get to Canada, go straight to your department so they can register not only Fall courses (I assume you are coming in Fall) but also one winter course (at least) so the IGSES funding may be applied. Then, you go to the University Centre, 5th floor, with your admission letter stating that you've been granted the IGSES funding. After the funding has been applied, you then decide when to pay the rest of your tuition. And you pay it per term. What department if I may ask? |

sholay2011: Bro, can someone get the IGSES with online copy of transcript submitted during application or official hard copy is compulsory for it? 1 Like |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by sholay2011(m): 5:20pm On Apr 28, 2016 |
adeyemidare:This, I can't answer for sure. But didn't you send a hard copy during your application for admission? Or was it not requested after you got admission? Regardless, I think one can get it with an online copy submitted during application. All that's needed is the CGPA, especially for the last two semesters. If the hard copy is needed, for any purpose of verification or so, you will surely be contacted. |

sholay2011: i was granted the entrance scholarship too as well.. so how does that help when it comes to visa processing... what amount do u state as tuition and must u provide proof to the VO abt the scholarship in ur tuition declaration. |

Hello folks, I just completed my MSc in UK and got an offer for a diploma to start in September.....I want to submit my application any moment from now and can anybody be my sponsor?....What are my chances please |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by ayooluwatoni(m): 5:34pm On Apr 28, 2016 |
yemdogg: You can just claim the person (by faith) is your uncle or aunt.....and you'll be fine |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by sholay2011(m): 5:37pm On Apr 28, 2016 |
aliACCA:Congrats. To be honest with you, the entrance scholarship doesn't mean much in terms of boosting your financial standing for visa application. If you got the UMGF, then, you have less to worry about, about being denied visa based on financial reasons. Even then, you still have to get a sponsor with a 'smiling' account balance or good cash inflow to remove all doubts from the VO's mind. You don't need any special proof of the IGSES other than your admission letter. And you state the actual amount of your tuition, without the IGSES. If it was the UMGF, then, you will need to submit a coloured (not necessarily original) copy of the scholarship letter and the form you filled stating you are accepting the scholarship. |

Bamz: I doubt if vfs will even accept pictures....guess they stopped that already.....except if they started it again. But you dont need all that stress.... just write a sound sponsorship letter where he'll claim you as nephew/niece......and also claim him as ur uncle on you Study permit app. 2 Likes |

ayeyemi91: Would be good if you can get a letter of intro from your employer.....letter of employment may not be sufficient as many things could have happened between when you were employed and now. If however you cannot get intro letter, you may have to faith your Employment letter, pay slips and your salary account....and then hope for the best.... |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by ayooluwatoni(m): 5:45pm On Apr 28, 2016 |
ayeyemi91:Can't you just get your results? Or student copy of transcript? Doesn't have to be official. I don't think it's compulsory, but if you can, why not try? |

sholay2011:thanks. Please is the tuition fee calculated by the credit hours you undertake? If I take on 9 credit hours, my tuition is like $1500 |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by Bamz(m): 6:12pm On Apr 28, 2016 |
ayooluwatoni: My sponsor is my employer and my course aligns with the company's activities. I'm thinking his sponsorship letter and past email correspondences would suffice to prove the relationship. |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 10 by sholay2011(m): 6:14pm On Apr 28, 2016 |
hyfr:You and credit hours fah Your tuition will also include other fees naa..like Student union stuff and other activities the school management has decided to include in your fees. For example in UofM, gym fees are included in the total amount you pay for tuition. Like i pointed out, send an email to the necessary authority in your school for the breakdown of your tuition or anything you aren't clear about. Tuition is not just calculated using credit hours, most times . 1 Like |
